Kasai slept very well on Wess's chest, her tiny nose twitching, then her paws as she started to dream. The smell of food was rather overwhelming now that she was so close to the source. The little fox woke up a few minutes later to her grumbling stomach.

Kasai got up and stretched, whining at Wess. Food would be nice. Where did you find food here. There was too much smell from Wess for her to tell.

Wess was glad when Kasai finally got off him so he could hunt. He hadn't wanted to wake her, but he was hungry, and he needed to eat regularly unless he wanted the shit to hit the fan.

The Wendigo stood and shook off his remaining drowsiness, flexing his clawed hands until they popped and glanced down at the small Kitsune. "I don't think you'll like what I eat," Wesley told her. "I imagine you want somethin' like a mouse or something?"

Kasai yipped at Wess. She didn't fully understand what he meant. Why wouldn't she like what he ate. He didn't eat her. He probably didn't eat the muck the dogs got at the shelter. Maybe he only ate the big creatures. That was fine. Kasai hadn't tried eating those yet. They probably still tasted good.

The tiny fox bounced around Wess, eager to leave the cave and start hunting. There were plenty of rabbits in the woods. And birds. And fish. And little glowy bug things. And little whiny bug things that would eat Kasai if she didn't eat them first.

Wess laughed lightly. This fox was too adorable, and he didn't at all mind taking her along for the ride. It felt odd to him, having something so innocent nearby as he consumed the flesh of the sentient. Was this fox as intelligent as a human? Would he scare her? Only one way to find out.

Wesley didn't think Kasai could keep up with him when he went on hunting mode, so the Wendigo lifted her into one of his arms and gave her face a quick nuzzle before he darted off in search of a meal for the two of them. Who knew, maybe she'd even be into eating people? He kind of doubted that.
