The Del Bosques were infamous off island for being patrons of the arts. And so Zoraida Del Bosque, currently head of the family businesses, decided, now that they weren't living in the Narrow Reality anymore to carry on the tradition for people on Manta Carlos.

The grand ballroom that she had acquired for the evening, since her house here on the island was not large enough for such an event, was tastefully decorated all in understated shades of black, white and greys... with the odd pop of bright red here and there along with tables of food and desserts, that catered to every type of diet imaginable, and an open bar for guests.

A small group of local musicians were in a corner, playing classical music quietly in the background as people mingled and admired the various sculptures and paintings that had been placed throughout the room for guests to look at or comment on. In fact. there would even be a silent auction and giveaway at midnight for the art pieces for everyone in attendance.

Wringing his hands, chewing his lip, and about as many other nervous tics as one could imagine, Purity silently made his way through the doors to the grand ballroom. In all honesty, he had no idea why he was here or why he had chosen to go - just the thought of all those people mingling and talking made him feel sick to his stomach. However, it was true that he needed to get out more. With absolutely no friends or other social connections to go out with, he relied on events of this nature to give him his social fill for the day. Or week. Or month.

Indeed, as he entered and stared agape around the room, it felt like it would be a month before he ever had the courage to go out again. The decorations, while tasteful and honestly rather lovely to look at, intimidated him extremely. You could tell that this was a formal and high-class event, and his knees clattered just looking around at all the fancy art pieces that had been scattered throughout. Eventually, after standing frozen at the entrance for a brief while, Purity darted as fast as he could to the nearest dark corner and took a deep breath, staring about the room and attempting to calm his nerves.

It was going to be a long night.

Fe, as per usual, loved attending these events. She was dressed for the occasion too in a classy - at least for Fe - floor-length black and white halter dress with a slit up the middle that bared leg as she walked.

Having flirted and mingled with quite a few of the wealthy patrons already, she had agreed to a quiet drink of champagne with Rafael Del Bosque. A drink which unfortunately had been cut short due to an issue with one of the paintings on offer that he had had to sort out.

And so, when a short, small-framed and nervous-looking violet haired individual suddenly appeared in her quiet corner while she was leaning back against the wall, casually watching the crowd as she drank her drink in peace, she couldn't help but be intrigued.

"Hiding away from somebody, are we?" Fe asked with an amused grin.

Poor Purity unfortunately had no idea that the corner he was hoping to take refuge in was already occupied. As such, when the sound of someone's voice addressing him reached his ears, he jumped half a foot in the air and hovered in midair for a moment, trying to gather his bearings. Upon alighting back on the ground he turned, and noticed the source of the voice.

It appeared to be a rather attractive woman close by - something which absolutely terrified Purity, of course. He swallowed in anxiety and shrugged his shoulders in response to her question, fairly sure he was hiding away from the whole world at this point.

"O-Oh - I'm j-just - watching, I g-guess."

Watching, indeed. That was all he ever seemed to do when it came to people. He swallowed once more and then tried to phrase his statement in a way that sounded better to him.

"I m-mean - that is - w-well - I d-don't know."

"Tried" being the key word there, as his speech primarily faded into nonsense. Eventually, he just settled for muttering "I'm b-bad with people." under his breath and staring at his cat-like feet, shuffling them as he did.

Colten was not necessarily the biggest collector of art, but Grovefire Manor could always use a few more interesting works. Besides, a high society event such as this one practically required his attendance. To keep his family name relevant and to see and be seen among his peers.

He was dressed in a perfectly well tailored suit and cloak-like coat, all in black of course. Tonight he had eschewed his favorite orange and black tie in favor of just a silk scarf arranged in such a way to appear lazily draped across his shoulders. His tail flicked slowly from side to side as he gradually made his way around the room, occasionally the end of it curled just a tiny bit as he found a particular piece of art more interesting or intriguing than others.

Colten glanced over at the sight of someone literally jumping into the air and hovering. But there didn't appear to be anything to worry about as the person returned to... attempting to talk, however nervously. He chuckled a little and moved on.

He secretly hoped there was some artwork of a more demonic nature, being predisposed to value it a little higher than other kinds. Though he was wiling to appreciate a great many things.

Fe watched Purity from behind her champagne glass as she took another tiny sip, hiding a tiny grin at the apparent discomfort of the man. Though she really couldn't be sure whether it was her presence or not that made him uncomfortable.

Fe knew that sometimes, and much to her amusement, she made people slightly nervous when they were around her... especially men. Maybe it was her overtly sexual nature and shameless behaviour, or maybe it was her direct approach to things in life.

"Yes, people watching can be fascinating at times," Fe agreed as she gestured to some people looking at a painting with her glass; noticing a well-dressed man with a silk scarf walk by, and letting her gaze follow him appreciatively for a moment.

"Oh, I am Fe Glaux by the way," she said matter-of-factly when she returned her attention to the curiously anxious individual before her. "And don't be so anxious, chill, I don't bite, at least not in public anyways," she grinned, chuckling at her own joke as she flashed Purity a grin.

Purity nodded in agreement with Fe's statement - as much as he was terrified of people, he did indeed find them fascinating to observe and take note of. He too took note of the man with the scarf, and allowed himself to watch for a moment before forcing himself to look back at Fe. As difficult as it was to converse, he may as well give it his best effort - people actually speaking to him was a rather rare occurrence.

"Y-You're right... it really can be. I e-enjoy it."

Unfortunately it tended to make him even more anxious when people pointed out his anxiety. It made him feel self conscious - however, in spite of this, he took a deep breath and nodded, attempting to steady himself.

"Ah... I'm s-sorry. I'm j-just naturally r-really anxious, I guess." He dwelled on her name for a moment, finding it pretty, before providing his own. "Ah, I'm Purity. P-Purity Oseiru."

After a moment of silence in which he shuffled his feet some more, Purity took another breath and attempted to continue conversation. "S-So... why are you here, exactly?"

"Nice to meet you, Purity," Fe stated, flashing him a wide grin when she heard the name, thinking that it suited them perfectly. In fact, she could easily envision them being a shy little nervous virgin, afraid to take a step into their marriage bed and hiding out in the bathroom. Or this was, to her private amusement, what she felt the situation was like at that moment.

"Well, I am a singer, a pretty good one if I am honest," Fe commented unabashedly, "And I came here tonight to network, put myself out there, meet a few new people with connections,' she remarked not shy about her reasons for being there.

"How about you?" she asked curiously as she sized Purity up in a very obvious manner.

(Pls forgive Fe, she is very out there, somewhat rude at times, and often sexualizes everything.)

Mingling throughout the room, greeting guests warmly and taking note of who had come and who hadn't, Zoraida spotted a guest that she knew of, but had not had the chance to meet yet.

Politely excusing herself from a small group of artists, Zora, who wore a fitted off the shoulder dove grey dress that came down to her ankles, made her way quietly and unobtrusively through the crowd, almost unnoticed by most of the guests who were either talking among themselves, listening to music or quite simply enjoying the various pieces of artwork placed strategically throughout the room.

"Good evening," she said warmly as she came to stand beside Colten Morey, "It's a very interesting piece, isn't it?" Zora said as she considered the statue in front of them.

Purity cowered somewhat under Fe's grin, and then tried to stop himself from cowering and hide it, resulting in a somewhat convulsive shudder from him out of nowhere. Telling himself in his head what a fool he was, he attempted to steady himself and took yet another deep breath, before nodding in response to her explanation. He wouldn't doubt that she was a good singer, she certainly gave off that air.

"M-Me?"

He tried not to take a very large step back when Fe sized him up - the action made his nerves practically stand on end. However, for fear of being rude he just tried to ignore it. It sounded a bit strange to him to basically say 'well I never get out so I thought I might as well try', so he tried to phrase it in a way that made it sound less awkward.

"W-Well... I'm a singer too, a-actually. B-But, well... I'm not t-too well connected outside of the internet. P-Probably because I'm n-not good with p-people... so I th-thought I should come and g-give an event like this a try."

Colten turned to nod at Zora as she stepped closer to admite the art. Knowing full well the real purpose was to introduce herself, and probably welcome him to the exhibition. That was usually how these things went after all.

"Good evening Ms. Del Bosque," He replied in an extremely well practiced and polite tone. He'd had plenty of years of training back in Pride Hell and in private schools on the island to ensure he knew how to handle the etiquette of this situation.

He smoothly slide his tail off to the other side so it wouldn't possibly brush into her accidentally and he grinned as he turned to offer a hand. "I don't believe i've had the pleasure of meeting you in person before. It's delightful to finally do so. I'm Colten Morey, owner of Grovefire Manor and head of the Morey Estate," he finished introducing himself to the host of this event. Cutting off the various references to his actual father and all that. To most of the islanders it was the island affairs that were more important anyway. It wasn't like Lucifer was going to come visit one of his countless children at the drop of a hat, nor was he expected to.
