It was night at the lake, and the stars were twinkling faintly as the sun faded and the moon appeared. Jen was swimming, her arms moving up and down in rhythm with the tune she was quietly singing. It wasn't anything special, just a bunch of jumbled notes put together.

Mez had met a lot of interesting people, a girl who was in her twenties he met just days before. He had kinda gotten weirded out by her "crush" on him. He looked at the lake and sat down on a bench by it. His blue eyes looked at the water noticing a girl in the water swimming. He watched her mindlessly, thinking about life in general. He couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed at how often the people he met were weirdos.

Jen liked the feeling of being able to sing without being judged. She only had time to scream before she fell under. Something was pulling on her leg and digging into her skin. She choked and sputtered, her lungs quickly filling with water, as she looked down to look at her captor.
A mermaid. Wait a second, a mermaid?! Those were only supposed to be at the brook!
Two more swam up and grabbed her arms, making the pull down faster. She knew that she was about to be drowned when her locket floated out from her neck and opened. There was a glowing light coming from it and then Jen gasped and started breathing hard.
Wait, breathing underwater? Was this her locket?
The Mermaids, enraged, hissed and started to cut Jen with their nails, the one who was watching her with both hand and the other one's with one hand, because they were still holding her. Jen screamed, but it only came out as a few large bubbles.
I'm surely going to die, it's the middle of the night, who would be at the lake?

Suddenly Mez saw the girl disappear, he figured something was definately wrong. He picked up a nearby small log like club like piece of wood and dove in the water. He swam towards the place where the girl went under and submerged himself looking for her in the water. She suddenly spotted her along with some mermaids. He swam towards them and sent a few good hits with the log at their heads. He saw them and decided to try and use hypnotizing to make them kill themselves. He looked them in the eyes, his sparkling almost impossible to not notice they're beautiful blueness.

The blows hit the mermaids, and as they turned, they saw a sparkle. They stopped moving and sank, letting their prize slip from their grasp.
Jen, by now, had stopped moving, due to the heavy and deep scratches on her arms and legs. She coughed up air as her lcoket closed and water started flooding her lungs again.

He put his arm around her waist and swam upwards to the surface. He looked at her, knowing she must've been holding her breath for a while or something. He saw the wounds and felt sorry for her. They soon reached the surface and he swam still holding onto her towards the shore, unsure if she could do so herself.

As they reached the surface, Jen took a deep breath and coughed harder than she ever thought was possible. Soon the water was out of her lungs, but there was also they problem of her bleeding. Before they had reached shore, though, Jen's eyes snapped open and see looked at the boy who had saved her. She blushed deeply and moved her eyes away from his.

He layed her on the shore unsure if she was going to be okay. He caught sight of her eyes his heart fluttered lightly, she was so beautiful. Her eyes looked like to orbs of lucious delight, he couldn't help but stare at them for a 30 seconds in awe. He snapped out of it and ripped his shirt to tend to her wounds. He couldn't seem to get the eyes out of his mind though, he wanted to stop thinking about the soft beauty in those eyes so pure and sweet looking too. He looked down wrapping the torn cloth gently around the worse wounds first.

Jen saw the boy staring at her as they were on land. She didn't look at him, she knew it would be very rude. She let him wrap her wounds and when he was done, she spoke softly. "I... I'm Jen..."

"I'm Mez..." He tried not to stare again, but he couldn't help loving how beautiful her eyes were. His weakness in a girl were her eyes, nothing else mattered as much as a woman's eyes to him. Her eyes to him were like a picture that a man doesn't want to take his eyes off of lest he forget it's beauty. "You know... you have the most beautiful eyes, I've truly never seen such glowing orbs in my life." His own blue eyes were quite handsome themselves, but he had never saw a girl with such beautiful eyes.

He looked down, he knew he was a bit outspoken but it was the truth. "I'm sorry if I stare a bit much, but they truly are so amazingly breathtaking." He said taking once last glance at them before getting back to business finishing bandaging the last wound.

"There, that'll work for now. How are you feeling?"
