"So," Jude said, looking Elisa up and down with some barely-hidden scrutiny. "What about you? Making friends with your new look?"

She was... okay. She wasn't really giving him anything, and Jude was good and thrown off.

"Such as?" He said, trying his best to get... something. He'd tried to be friendly and open, but he just wasn't getting anything out her but a lot of weird contradictions.

She was part of a conversation, so she couldn't just leave him hanging. "Well. There is Tomo, But she was a friend before the change. I like to think Belladonna is a friend too." Elisa realized something. "Do you know them, or are they just random names?"

Jude knew one of those names. Belladonna was totally unfamiliar him, but Tomo?

"Oh, I know Tomo," he said. "The bakaneko girl, right? Siblings with...." Jude trailed off for a moment to process, double checking his memory. "Tadashi and Shiro. I haven't talked to her all that much, personally. Just seen her around the community center."

"Yeah, I've also met Shiro. Tomo usually jumps in the window as a cat." She smiled, remembering Tomo's actions when she first used the charm.

"Tomo is nice, but she does like to pull a prank now and then."

Jude couldn't help but feel that the whole conversation had mostly wrapped up. He didn't really know what to make of Elisa, but Jude couldn't help an inherent sense that there was something... off. Maybe not wrong, but definitely off.

So Jude took a moment to recenter himself. To think about things. To think about what he'd heard in the conversation, and about what he'd heard before.

What would his father do?

Probably go after Tomomi. Probably seek them out and find out what they knew. But Jude didn't want to be his father.

"Well, it was good speaking with you," Jude said. "But I hope no one else finds out about your secret."

And, assuming he wasn't stopped, he'd start to head off.
