"Oh, why thank you!" Celeste replied, beaming happily. She had not expected Stefan to congratulate her on her impending nuptials.

"Roldan proposed to me on Valentine's. It was super romantic on his part," she said with a bit of a dreamy sigh as her gaze travelled downwards a little until she noticed that Zora and Stefan were holding hands. A gesture that made her smile.

"You two make a really lovely couple," she admitted. as she looked at both of them "Roldan and I were sort of like you two," she confessed unabashedly.

"We also hit it off right away... Although, because we both have kids, we decided to take things slow for their sake. Also, Roldan had just got out of his first marriage and didn't want to rush things, " she explained.

Stefan listened to Celeste intently while she explained her and Roldan's relationship, how they met, their reasonings for taking it slower, and her comparisons to him and Zora.

"Well sounds like I've got some big expectations to live up to."

A boyish grin came to his face as a free hand moved to rub the back of his neck. He seemed to be the only one without kids. Not that it was a bad thing, it was just hard to relate. It's not like he even had younger siblings that would have been close. He was the younger sibling.

"That's definitely understandable. Changes can be rough on kids."

That was one thing that Stefan could relate to, but knew it was neccessary to grow.

"Oh, I definitely agree changes can be very hard on children... Thankfully, Azure and Ieasha have been so great through all of this," she explained happily.

"We even ended up going on a family vacation last summer to Jamaica together. We saw it as a good chance for our families to get to know each other in a relaxed and fun way," she told them, remembering their vacation fondly and how she had been able to bond with Roldan's daughter, Iesha.

During Celeste's reminiscing, Zora found herself nodding in agreement. "A trip sounds like a good way to get to know someone better," she said as she looked Stefan and smiled as she remembered how they had talked about a trip somewhere together, and was, once again, most definitely looking forward to it.

"I was thinking Stefan and I could go away together soon, maybe even visit one of grandfather's resorts?" she mused as she closed her interlocked fingers around Stefan's.

Stefan's smile persisted as Celeste talked about their trip. There were two main reasons why it did so. The first was that he was genuinely glad Celeste and her family had the chance to bond and did just that. It settled a little more nerves about meeting Zora's son when that inevitably happened.

The second reason was he thought back to the night him and Zora shared together. They had joked and talked about running away on a vacation together. Stefan was quickly pulled back from his day dream when Zora admitted to her aunt they had thought about that as well. He looked to Celeste as he spoke.

"It worked out well for you and yours. And I wouldn't pass on the opportunity to spend more time with her...I mean look at her!"

His head did a small yank in Zora's direction as he sent the compliment her way. Her fingers closed around his almost as if keeping him from running, so he was gonna do what he did best, quick witted and ever the charmer.

Zora blushed at Stefan's compliment. She really did love that about him. He had no trouble expressing how he felt. It was a breath of fresh air actually, and while she hated comparisons... she had to admit it was nice not having to guess whether he loved and wanted to be with her like she had with her previous relationship.

Smiling at her niece's bashful reaction, Celeste also couldn't help but unconsciously make comparisons. It was so nice to finally see her truly happy that Celeste found herself approving of Stefan on just that alone.

"Daddy just finished renovating the chalet up in Gstaad," she suggested, naming a property the family had in Switzerland.

"That is if you don't mind a secluded chalet in the middle of the mountains," she added, unsure whether they liked the mountains as she did.

"Or... if you prefer the beach I can recommend a few places if you'd like." she said with a smile.

"Mountains are fine by me. I am Norse afterall."

Stefan chuckled a little bit and looked over to his girlfriend with a smile. Their entire brief history running through his head starting from the fateful run in. It made his lopsided grin develop into a full smile as his eyes lingered on her.

"Unless you'd prefer the beach. I'd be alright with anything really."

Suddenly it hit him that they were actually talking about doing this and it wasn't just some joke between him and Zora. He looked back over to Celeste with a genuine curiosity on his face.

"So what do you do Celeste? Besides bake amazing bread."

Zora hesitated before answering. She had gone to Fiji with her ex, and it somehow felt like going to the beach again but with Stefan was just a way to cover over the past. She felt he deserved ... better, a place where they could call their own without shadows of her past intruding.

"The mountains sound like the perfect retreat," Zora assured them as she glanced up at Stefan and felt her heart do that happy little flip-floppy thing again.

"Formidable! ** Wonderful," Celeste exclaimed in French and clapped her hands together delighted.

"I will call ahead tonight, get it all set up for you both," she declared in a not-going-to-take-no-for-an-answer tone, her bossy Frenchness showing as she very gladly took the decision out of their hands.

Then...

"Well, besides being the best baker in the family..." she quipped in reply to Stefan's question. "I am a teacher. I teach Home Economics at the academy," she explained. "And I also tutor magic and its theory," she added.

Stefan only had time to blink once before Celeste was announcing she'd set everything up for them. He had to assume that was a good sign. It wouldn't make much sense if she didn't approve of him but was going to set up a vacation for just Zora and him.

"The big boss lady gene must run in the family."

Using his elbow, Stefan bumped Zora lightly in a playful manner as he chuckled a little bit. He he was extremely happy at the moment. Things were going very well with the first family member and hopefully that would translate to the others as she talked to them.

"Wait...so not only do you bake amazing bread... you teach people how to make amazing bread too?! Ontop of magical theory?"

Stefan had heard of magical theory before. It was something he didn't quiet understand as all his abilities came about naturally, at least as far as he knew.

Squinting good-naturedly at Stefan when he nudged her, Zora chuckled.

"I think you mean, "little bossy women"," she shot back, amused and bemused, at how Celeste had just taken everything upon herself and was basically planning their whole holiday out... next thing they'd know she'd be packing their overnight bags for them.

"Qui. Yes, I do... or try to," she said with a tiny grimace. "The biggest problem I often encounter is teaching students to do things the "hard" way when many can just use magic is a problem at times."

" A lot of students are overly reliant on magic or the ability to just conjure things up," she explained as she poured more warm tea into her cup.

Stefan could relate to that. It was easy to just fall back on your powers and abilities for things. He looked over to Zora and winked behind the mirrored lenses, just enough of the corner of his eye showing that Zora might be able to catch the wink.

"I get that. It's so much more rewarding to get what you want without using magic or anything else similar."

He moved his eyes back over to Celeste and gave Zora's hand a small squeeze. It also seemed they had their mountain getaway taken care of for them. His free hand came up and ruffled his shaggy blond hair a little, trying to figure out how to phrase his next question.

"So uh, any advice for meeting everyone else?"

His boyish grin gave away that he was really trying to make a good impression and cared about Zora's family's opinion of him.
