His scythe would slash as his wings pushed him over the ground, his death form was large and powerful, not something he used all that often. John was a good fighter, he trained often so that he'd be ready for about anything that may happen.

As he finally landed he picked up a scent, a person nearby, probably watching. Taking a breath he'd shift to human and turn in the direction of the scent. "Hello?" he'd tilt his head curiously, he didn't see many people out here, "you're a ways out." @EmiRose

While Ria had scouted all the nooks and crannies of the academy building while on the lookout for Jii she hadn't actually visited the forest area of the island yet. Ria walked among the trees, looking around. The forest wasn't anything compared to her home forest, naturally, where the pines reached for the trees and the vegetation was as feral as the animals that roamed it. But Ria barely registered any of what she saw. Her eyes were clouded by wrath, frustration and regret. Ria had just recently seen her sister basically collapse to the ground because some son of a bitch had layed their hands on her. Jii had been drunk and not able to make any sound decisions. Just thinking about how she had felt made Ria's anger boil over. Her coating, which was already glowing red, flared as Ria let the anger come and she punched a tree with a yell. Her coating gave Ria even more power and the tree was left with a big crater and an imprint of Ria's fist. Ria felt a bit bad, and hoped the tree wouldn't fall on someone who leaned on it.

Ria hadn't even noticed how far into the woods she had wandered, her anger was dulling her sharp senses. But a familiar sound punched through her haze of wrath, a sound of combat. Ria's head spun as she looked over where the sound was coming from. Ria used her speed and quickly came upon an individual with peculiar appearance, apparently training. They had a scythe and wings and they made even Ria feel a shiver of intimidation. She loved it.
But apparently they detected Ria, hidden in the bushes. They changed into a much more normal looking form and called out to the direction Ria was in. Since Ria saw no harm in it she stepped out, her coating still having slight red tint. On her face there was a slight smile, little cocky. She wanted to fight this man.
"Hello. Are you as strong in that form as you are in the other?"
Ria had one of her more sporty outfits on, tight black tank top and sports shorts that showed off her muscular arms and legs. Her blonde, long hair was in her traditional twintails and they nearly reached the back of her thighs.
"Because if you are, fight me."

John would squint and tilt his head, a small grin appearing on her face. "Well you're an energetic one," she seemed to be the same species as Jii, which he'd assumed to be a type of goblin, "don't even know my name and you're already asking me for a fight?"

He'd look at the smaller girl, he couldn't really remember the last time he sparred with someone. "Been a while since I'd fought anyone," he stretched a bit, getting ready for what was seemingly coming next, "guess we're gonna find out if you can keep up."

"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not," he'd flash a challenging grin, "another thing we'll find out." He'd step a bit closer, "before we start....what's your name?"

Ria didn't know what to think of the grin on the man's face, and she didn't care. Right now she just wanted, needed, to let this angry energy out. She had ran into someone strong enough so she shouldn't have to hold back. That all she cared about now.
But she did grin back a bit, and stretched herself. Her hand wasn't even aching from the punch just now, her coating took care of that.
"If knowing your name is the requirement for fighting you then be quick and tell me your name. I have some pent up energy I need to let out."

Ria felt a bit insulted when the man thought she wouldn't be able to keep up. But a small challenging smirk crept onto her face when Ria imagined making the man eat those words. She had nothing personal against this man, right now he was just a conveniently strong punching bag.
"I will show you I can keep up, and more."

Ria was really happy that she knew they would fight. She liked the man's style, accepting a challenge as it came. Ria was the same, not one to back down from a challenge. But she was a bit confused when the man asked her name.
"What do you need my name for? But oh well, my name is Ria. And now..."
Ria took a fighting stance and lifted her hand, beckoning the man to start. Her aura flared red, ready to cause pain to whoever touched Ria. She was sure the man could take it.
"Take your best shot. I shall observe if I can take it as you come."

"Ria," he said her name and took his own fighting stance, a calm and relaxed one, perfect for when one isn't sure what to expect from one's opponent. "Well I'm John," his feet would move just a bit as he started to shift to the right, his eyes never leaving his new sparring partner.

He was strong enough to bend steel, so he was pretty strong, "yes we'll see," he'd move fast, as fast as his well trained legs would take him. Normally he'd go about this a little slower, but his opponent seed very eager and he would happily comply and fight.

John would slide to her, his foot lashing out to striker at the small girl, his hand moving to strike above in case she jumped. He wasn't really sure how strong she was, but if she had seen his death form and still wanted to fight, he wouldn't say no.

Ria kept a sharp, calculating eye on her new opponent as he took a fighting stance as well, much more nonchalant than her firm one. Ria understood the probing behind it and Ria was glad to fight someone who new what stradegy was.
"Well then John. Let's have a fair fight."
Ria smiled just a bit, she was not used to knowing the name of her opponents. They were usually punching bags or trees. It got boring after a while. But now Ria had a moving target that would try to hit her back.

Ria wasn't surprised when John came at her so fast Ria actually didn't actually have much time to consider her next move. Her senses were sharp and so were her reflexes, normal human would have no chance against her. Thank goodness this person was no ordinary human.
For a second Ria considered just taking John's kick, or the punch he was aiming above in case Ria jumped. But she could see both were formidable, so Ria decided not to.

Ria would instead jump up fast, letting John's fist graze her and her coating. He would probably feel pain similar to his fist burning if close contact was made. Ria would land behind John seconds later and immediately charge ahead herself, aiming a powerful roundhouse kick to the back of John's foot that kept him grounded still. The kick was powerful enough to shatter normal human's bones.

His opponent jumped, he felt the burn in his hand, seemed that his sparring partner had some something to give her a edge. Perhaps a magic aura, or something else entirely, either way he'd ignore the burn the best he could.

The young man went on the move as soon as he could, he knew what was coming, her attack would graze his side, it hurt, it'd definitely be badly bruised once the injury settled in.

Despite the pain, he was actually smiling a bit, pain didn't mean much to an immortal and he was having fun. "You're fast," he'd spin around, using his momentum to send his own kick her way, a strong kick, the small girl had showed she could likely take whatever he could throw out.

Ria felt her kick graze John. She knew it wouldn't slow him down and he proved that by quickly spinning around and sending a kick Ria's way. Ria had expected it but still wasn't fast enough as she jumped up. John's kick landed on Ria's hip and she grimaced a bit as the power from the kick made her spin in the air sideways a couple times. But Ria landed clean on her feet and was moving yet again the second she did. Her coating made it possible that the kick hadn't hurt as much as it could.

Ria had had time to note the hint of a smile on John's face, and had registered him calling her fast. Ria, always appreciative when someone complimented her skills, smiled a bit too as she went for the direct approach from John's front.
"Less talking, more sparring."
Ria said, and though her tone sounded serious a hint of a playful smirk flickered on her face.

Ria would try to make it seem like she was going to straight up punch John, and she would make it look quite convincing. But at the last second she's try to grab John's shirt from the shoulder, spin herself to sit on his shoulders and try to do a chokehold with her legs. Ria's coating was on full power and would hurt upon touch the same way as earlier, except now there would be little electricity mixed in too.

His opponent swung herself onto his shoulders, he could tell what her intentions were, a chokehold. The horseman's hand shot up, not to grab but to get his arm besides his neck, to keep her from choking him.

John could feel the pain touching her brought, a searing, cracking pain, it was bad, but he'd felt worse, at the hand of mad mage obsessed with ending the world. Once his arm was in place he'd twist and throw, intending to get her off of him, in order to get space, a little distance to make his next move.

As he twisted and threw, he'd start to move backward, despite the searing pain he was actually enjoying this. His knew sparring partner made things interesting, he had a small smile on his face threw it all.

Ria also had a small smile on her face as she attempted to choke John. As expected, it didn't work that well. Ria had suspected as much. Her primary goal had been to see how her coating's prolonged touch would affect John. He didn't seem bothered outside, but Ria could read the signs on his face and muscles that her power did do something. Ria smiled a bit wider as John tired to throw her off. But before he could do that Ria slipped off with a backflip, landing behind John.

From there Ria would try to sweep John off his feet with wide move of both of her legs. Ria was firmly grounded on her hands and the sweep had all her strength behind it. If John dodged or otherwise avoided the sweep Ria would roll backwards and take some distance. If the sweep worked Ria would try to lock John's hands behind his back.
