Irene nodded and bobbed his head in a manner reminiscent of a bird as he was impressed with her knowledge and navigation within the various cupboards. He finished signing off on the clipboard and handed it to Sacre so she could see how the paperwork actually looked.

"It's generally pretty rare. That stuff is really expensive and there are quite a few people who don't have magical treatment clauses in their healthcare agreements. Besides, generally we're getting them from scene of the injury to seen by the hospital staff as quickly as possible. And some of us do have our own healing methods if absolutely necessary- but that's a major headache legally."

At that point Irene's partner for the night arrived and began setting containers of fresh supplies into the van. She appeared to be possibly some kind of demon with deep red scales accented with gold scales here and there and small folded bat wings.

Sacre's eyes moved over the paperwork, she glanced at each compartment and item as they went through the list mentally checking a second time. Sacre nodded, "I can imagine." She said, surveying the new demon who was Irene's partner. "So what's next?"

Irene laughed and took back the paperwork to file away for later, moving to help unload and stash the new supplies. "After we're all squared away we usually-"

Before he finished his statement the radio crackled to life, with the dispatcher calling for their unit number to head to a downtown address for a teenage male- breathing and conscious but possible broken legs downtown.

Irene reached over to the mic nearby and acknowledged the call, giving a reasonable ETA and then looked back over to Sacre. "I guess today's going to start off strong. Buckle up, we're heading there now. What's you're guess on what happened? It's a bit dark but we usually try to see who can come closest to what actually happened."

Sacre nodded, joining the two as they headed out to the scene. "Two broken legs but still conscious in downtown, no other factors mentioned? The idiot probably fell off a sign while they were working on it. Landed on their feet, but the fall was too much, breaking their legs. If he had been hit by a car or something, we would likely have had a call for the driver as well." Sacre explained her reasoning with a military sharpness to it.

Irene's partner laughed and shook their head. "No I think that'd be too simple. Sure it's possible by my money is on something wilder. Maybe someone tried to jump kick a building over and failed spectacularly."

Then it was Irene's turn to shake his head as he buckled himself in and their siren began to blare as they made their way to the location. Broken bones weren't always code responses, but with both legs broken there was a serious concern about blood clots or large bone fragments doing serious damage. "You're right that we would have probably had more info if it was a car involved. My guess is also along the lines of a powers accident. Maybe someone who's super durable tried jumping off something high."

It didn't take too long to get to the scene, and the police were already there directing traffic and such. Their patient appeared to be some kind of cat-like hybrid and was clearly in a lot of pain.

Sacre nodded thoughtfully at Irene's words, she didn't have a good grasp of this world's dynamics. "What have you gotten yourself into this time kitten?" Sacre muttered to herself as she slid out of the Ambulance after the two paramedics. Following them, but keeping her distance just beyond where they needed. She lay her long tail as a sort of dividing line between the crowd and the medics to keep them away if they got past the police.

Irene and his partner seemed to work pretty well together, quickly approaching and getting details from the officers as they met with the victim. Irene calmly introduced himself by first name and asked for the teen's in turn, starting to get the boy talking. Better to have him focused on them instead of the pain, wherever possible.

As they checked for further injuries and administered a dosage of pain medication to prep him for splinting and transport they learned that none of them had guessed right. Apparently the teen could run at very high rates of speed, but had accidentally tripped on some debris in an alley. The sudden shock of careening into the concrete below and the brick of nearby buildings caused the serious injuries to his legs.

A few teens in the crowd began to push forward a bit, laughing and pointing towards the poor victim.

Sacre remained standing where she was, watching them as they came forward. She didn't really care about what they were saying. There were always lookie-loos, and they couldn't really be avoided in this public space. However, they needed to give the paramedics space to work. "Please don't come any closer," Sacre asked nicely enough. It was somewhat out of character, but she wasn't really speaking on her own behalf.

They didn't stop, and walked right up to her, paying a lot more attention to the man with the broken legs then Sacre's scarred demeanor. "Yeah whatever." One of them replied.

"The paramedics need room to work, I suggest you give it to them," Sacre said, her tone lowering to a more dangerous level. She really wanted to flash one of her knives to get their attention, knives attracted everyone's attention. It was part of what made them so useful. However, it would make a really bad impression on Irene and his partner. She glanced at them as they worked, wishing that she was just on her own for a moment, but she wasn't. One of them raising their leg to step over Sacre's tail.

"STOP." Sacre commanded loudly in the Sargent's voice she had been taught in the army. While it wasn't magic, it caused almost everyone within range of her to stop what they were doing and look at the tall lanky Lamia for a second. There was something in her posture that said even more than normal that she wasn't to be messed with. That she was laying down the law. "Don't Get Closer To Them. Go On Your Way."

Irene glanced momentarily up at the interactions between the crowd and Sacre. Technically it ahould have been the police handling the crowd, and they moved in very soon after, but he didn't stop Sacre- heck, it seemed to be working just fine as the group stepped back.

Asku's shadow drifted over the crowd as he too eyed the situation, growing much, much larger.

Irene and his partner finished prepping the patient for transport and began wheeling the stretcher towards the ambulance. "Good job with that, its not really a focus of our job but sometimes it has to be. Mine heloing making a hole for us?" Irene asked after nodding approvingly at her.

"Certainly," Sacre responded, moving towards the ambulance. "Please make way." She asked and the crowd parted, as Sacre moved through the crowd, she swept widely than she usually did to make more room for the stretcher. She then joined Irene in the front of the ambulance for the drive to the hospital.
