Irene headed out to the truck to start the pre-shift check of the vehicle and supplies, letting Asku the thunderbird perch on the roof of the ambulance to 'supervise'. His movements quick but methodical, practically relying on muscle memory to do the same checks he'd been doing more or less for years. His actual work partner still inside grabbing the rest of their supplies they had already known to stock up on.
"Well Asku, keep an eye out for our ride-along guest for the shift. I'm sure she'll be along as soon as the paperwork is done," he called out, knowing that the bird wouldn't actually get much of that. It was fine, a mental urge to keep an eye out for -a friendly- visitor coming out to the truck.
