Tanniv had waited and saved the pay that she got from tending to the grounds of Starlight Academy to afford this evening. Money was such a troublesome bother, but it was the fastest way to get what she wanted without incurring a debt in the process. She didn't want any more debts.

To say that she was dressed up for the occasion would have been wrong. She was dressed up by her standards, but by no means could her attire be described as 'sexy' or 'high class.' A pair of baggy jeans and a t-shirt at least two sizes too large that draped over her like a poncho more than anything. She was in her normal wide-stanced, slightly hunched posture as she entered the establishment known as Wolfsbane Bordello. She thought it was funny that a place that supposedly was for pleasure was named after something so deadly to most people.

"Yes, I am here for Ishi," she said in a child-like, sing-song voice that swiftly changed to a gruffer, sultry man's voice... like Sean Connery. "I have money to pay for his time. Would you like to see it?" Her eyes darted around the room and she felt distinctly naked without her pouches, potions, and slingshot. But she still had her venom and her sharpened teeth and she could work with these if danger presented itself.

Though getting into trouble here would be embarrassing, and she would not want Val and the others to see her in such a state.

Today was....satisfactory. Ishi didn't have any issues or any complaints about today. Work has been decent and he hasn't been attacked by any vampires tripping out on some drugs so he was feeling great about that.
The clients he was getting today we're also alright. No one was a problem to deal with and he was able to give them all a satisfactory experience. He was efficient after all.

Ishi was just getting done with another client when he was notified that another person was requesting him. So when his current client's time was finally up, he followed them out to the lobby to send them off and then greet his next client.
Then he suddenly had a bit of a problem from what he saw.
Tanniv.

He didn't know how to feel. Ishi glanced around the room to see if there was someone else was waiting for him but he already knew that wasn't the case.
Ishi didn't normally take client's he knew that we're Fae but Tanniv was close to being an exception. For now.
They had previously met before and came to an agreement to help each other out so he probably shouldn't have been too surprised to see her here. He just didn't expect her to show up to his work at all. All he could think about was if she was plotting something. Despite their previous agreement, Ishi still does not fully trust her.

His expression was just bland and completely devoid of any emotion. He looked at the person working at the desk and then back to Tanniv and put on his best attempt at a friendly smile. "Hello, again Tanniv. This was unexpected. Are you the one requesting my service today?"

"Yes, hello," Tanniv greeted Ishi with a smile that showed off her filed sharp teeth and a voice that was scratchy and feminine and only slightly feral. "I thought this would be a good place to meet you, where I can trade money for your time rather than incur a debt."

It seemed logical, at least to her, to do this. Beyond the stated reasoning, there was also the fact that her friends weren't here. She hadn't informed any of them of her plans because she wanted it to be a surprise. Though she wasn't totally keyed into social cues with normal people, she knew how they saw her. What they thought of her. The feral child, the weird creature, the one to be left out of social functions because she might try to gift someone a deadly spider or ask them for a sample of their blood.

Val was marrying a very nice lady and she didn't want to ruin that for him by being herself.

"Is this arrangement satisfactory?" she asked, falling down into a crouch so that the tips of her fingers balanced on the floor and kept her up despite her lower position. Tanniv canted her head slightly to the side, whining softly like a wolf and using body language to emphasize the question.

"Oh." Ishi blinked once when Tanniv spoke. That actually seemed surprisingly reasonable. He couldn't find a problem with what she she was doing or said she was doing.

Ishi paid close attention to Tanniv's movement and body language. He haven't thought about it until now that the way Tanniv behave was...strange, different.
The way she was behaving probably wouldn't classify under what a normal person would behave like. It was also way different from the way he acted, she was more like an animal and he was....
Something.

This might be a bit harder than he expected but he was still going to hold up his end of the deal as long as she held up hers."I see. Yes. This is adequate." He nodded his head.

"We shall start then. Follow me." He gestured for Tanniv to follow him and then lead her to a private room.
Once they made it to the room, Ishi opened the door to let Tanniv in and then closed it behind her once she entered.

"So. What exactly do you want me to teach you today?"

Tanniv followed dutifully behind Ishi, using him as an example to correct her posture as they moved to the back of the bordello towards the room where she would have her lesson. By the time the door was shut, she was standing with her back straight and looking far less like a feral child already.

Her eyes darted around the room very much like an animal though, taking stock of her surroundings, looking for potential weapons and escape routes if she needed them. But Ishi's monotone voice pulled her back and she turned to him with a sound like a complicated series of bird trills.

"I do not know. I want..." Tanniv paused, realizing that she needed to explain the parameters of her needs. "My friends, they are all... pspspsps educated, noble, diplomatic. Unlike me in every way. And one is to be wed. I have not met his betrothed and I fear I will..." she fell back into a half-crouch, gesturing vaguely with both hands a concept that she couldn't fully put into words at first.

"Break it, as I am. I do not well understand... motivations. Polite...ness? These things."

Ishi was keeping his eye on Tanniv. He was still very much on guard and he does not feel comfortable about being alone with a fae he barely knew. He did notice her change in posture which he thought was already a bit of improvement so far.
"Hm. Okay. Let's start with politeness then. I can help with that, I was ma- taught how to behave around those who were considered royalty and nobles."

"Also, I noticed the change in your posture. It is good." He gave her a thumbs up while just staring at her with his same old emotionless blank stare.

"When around nobles you should put on your best behavior, a good posture makes you a bit more presentable." Ishi was thinking about how exactly he wanted to go about teaching Tanniv. He could teach her how to behave like he does around nobles and royals or figure out something that seemed more lax and island appropriate. He will just have to figure things out along the way.

"Alright. We will start with greetings. I want you to show me what you think is a good greeting."

"Good posture," Tanniv repeated, her voice dipping ever so slightly to mimicking Ishi's impassive monotony. "I will try this, yes."

But he asked her to show him what she thought was a good greeting, and she froze. Was saying 'hello' not good enough? She looked around the room, unsure of herself and settled her gaze on the door that most likely led into a closet of some kind.

Tanniv stalked over to this door, actively keeping her back straight to keep her posture 'good,' whatever that actually meant. She slipped inside the closet, shutting the door for a second and waiting a few breaths before opening the door and exiting back into the room.

She looked at Ishi, feigning surprise, or possibly some other unknown emotion. She canted her head ever so slightly to the side, not unlike a dog looking confusedly at a new person. "Hello."

Another pause. "Does this work?"

Ishi watched Tanniv's demonstration and his eyes followed her as she moved around the room and into the closet. Which was another unexpected thing but hey, if it works it works.
He then watched Tanniv step out of the closet to greet him. He thought her performance was okay but there was definitely room for improvement.

"That was a decent start." He gave her another thumbs up.

"If you want to appear more friendly you should smile. That is what I have been told before by others at the Grey Raven. You can also say more than just hello. Someone greeted me with " What's up." But that is less formal and not something you should say when greeting a noble." He glanced over to the closet as he was thinking on what more she could improve on.
He immediately thought it was better to just show her a few greetings instead.

"Okay. It is my turn to demonstrate. Pay attention to my words, body language, and face."

Ishi walked past Tanniv and went right into the closest. After closing the door he waited a few moments before stepping out again.
Ishi opened the closest's door and stepped back into the room with a forced smile on his face. He then approach Tanniv and held out his crystal- coated hand towards her and then spoke with a less monotone sounding voice. "Oh, Hello. I am called Ishi. I hope it will be nice to meet you."

And scene.
Back to neutral face and monotone sounding Ishi. "You can also add a compliment in the greeting or use it as an excuse to greet people. For example..."

He took a few steps away from Tanniv and turned around.
After a few moments he turned back around and walked towards her. "Hello, I just wanted to tell you that your clothes are lovely. Where do you shop?"

And scene. Again.
"Did you learn anything from my performance?"

Tanniv stared at the offered hand, her eyes flicking between Ishi's face and his hand as if he might attack at any moment. She pursed her lips though and paid close attention to him. She waited until he was finished showing her his two examples and asked her to critique - no, to explain what she had learned.

"You smiled. It is a strange expression - similar to an animal's fear face. Baring teeth. I know this is different though. Friendly. My friends smile often."

She nodded and moved on to his body language. "You are off your guard. Relaxed, maybe is the word? Compliments though... my clothes are made, not bartered for. I do not see the..."

Tanniv stopped, taking another look around the room and falling into a crouch so that she was resting on the balls of her feet. She muttered to herself for a moment, cycling through a number of voices as she tried to work through the problem of compliments. She finally spoke back up, slipping back to her raspy, feminine default voice.

"I understand compliments of skill. I work hard, others recognize this. This is how I was offered a place in Val's hunting party. But..." she clicked and chirped in frustration, unsure of how to explain what she was thinking in words.

"I appear relaxed, yes. I learned that appearing relaxed is important. It makes people feel....more comfortable around you." Ishi thought that was the best way to put it.

He didn't think Tanniv would have a problem understanding compliments, that was his fault. Ishi now realized he might have to just take things a bit slower paced and probably will have to do a lot of explaining.
"Oh. Hmm. Compliments of skill are fine but it is easier to complement a person's appearance first."

Ishi then gestured to his arms and other crystal parts to his body.
"For example, I have had people compliments my unique appearance. They can't compliment on any skill because I have not shown them anything that I am skillful at."

"You just give a person a compliment if you like their appearance. It does not have to be clothing. It could be their voice, hair, eyes, or whatever else that you like about them."
