May 2016: Event Idea Drive Voting

Please vote on the quality of the idea, not the writing! All ideas will likely be tweaked in some small ways by the staff. You can pick up to two ideas, but can pick just one if you want. Please only vote for events you would actually participate in.

CUTE OFF!
Do your aboslutly adorable in your eyes? Then enter in the very first ever MANTA CARLOS CUTE OFF! Age does not matter, for there is cute in every age!

Basically this would be a contest like event where people would enter there characters to see who is the cutest of all....the winner transcends into a being of pure cute or whatever. Perhaps they get a condo? I kinda like the god of cute thing a little more.

ICC, BBQ, and Swimming. What could go wrong?

The pizza party event in ICC went really well. We had both regulars and people that wouldn't normally ICC jump in and have fun. However, it wasn't perfect. The "pizza" part got old quick as people kept posting about having eaten pizza. There also seemed to be minor confusion on what food was served, and no other activities were listed in the post.

Therefore I'm proposing a summer barbecue pool party in ICC. Where? Well, there's three options:

The Academy's Pool Facility: Pros: Easily accessible for students, means that people can be both inside and outside without trouble; Cons: Could be an awkward setting for citizens (Even if it's open to many)

Public Pool: Pros: Open to everyone; Cons: Public pools are kind of icky, limited space

The Beach: Pros: Huge space, open to everyone, lots of activities; Cons: No indoor setting (Unless one of those huts/smoothie bars happen to pop up)

It's a simple event that would bring about a lot more options/ideas on what to do. You wouldn't even have to write a long blurb; just give the setting and say that it's a pool party with a bunch of stuff going on all over.

Disaster Preparedness Test
In the aftermath of the tsunami, Starlight Academy is making an attempt to make sure it's students are ready for any future disasters. This will play out like a little mini-war games, with some people designated as 'disasters' and the majority of people designated as 'students'. Everyone who signs up will be randomly declared either a disaster or a student, and despite the academy's best effort to take things seriously, the entire thing is rapidly going to devolve into a game of tag/hide and seek, with people randomly assigned into little 3/4 man threads.

Basically, for students that have parents, a letter as well as tickets for them would be sent out to allow them to visit the island and see what their children are up to at the school, sort of like a family visitation week/day. It probably would require a sign up though to allow people to make temporary characters, either rping them themselves or allowing another to do so.

Show and Tell
Come one, come all!
For the first time in forever, we would like to welcome everyone on Manta Carlos island to this special treat of an event. Set in a friendly and neutral area to all, this event lets all power users to show off their talents! Maybe there has been a special someone that you have wanted to impress with a short show of your fire manipulation? Perhaps doing a short act with another, to enhance the performance to the viewer's liking? Anything is allowed to be on stage! As long as such things are family friendly as children can and will be present.

This unique show and tell even allows people to come out of their shells, or what they are used to from being on the island. This is a chance to wow people, to meet new friends, to scare people; to be yourself with no judgement. The event will be held on the Sports Field, where bleachers and a stage will be set up for people to feel the new-coming summer breeze as well as ensure minimal damage to the school and other buildings.

Oh boy. Meowls came from another universe to invade. Insanity ensues. GG. This would be a forum event; ICC could NOT handle something like this. They've finally decided to come to Manta Carlos and stake their claim. No longer will their agents be stuck there; the time is now! This could go peacefully or violently. It will definitely go hilariously.

This event could be broken down into waves. For example:

Wave 1: There's some weird portals opening up. What's going on?

Wave 2: The population of fused cat-owl critters are going nuts

Wave 3: The meowls fly in from the portals and attack

etc. etc.

It could be taken with comedic seriousness seeing as it is an invasion but at the same time it's by creatures that have become a SA meme. There is also a multiple choice function with this as people basically choose how they want to react. It's also likely not as intimidating/destructive as a magical tsunami so it doesn't necessarily force wealthy people to leave the island. It's theoretically possible too, but it's not as forceful.
