Irso had so been excited these past few days. It was soon to be his vacation time, away from school, away from young ones, and a break from teaching. Strange as it sounded for Irso he was glad to be rid of the responsibility for a short time. The highlight of his joy was not just the journey to an unseen land but the love he got to share the experience with Huilu. While at first, he had planned for the journey in solitude, he and his thoughts wracking over the copious amounts of knowledge he would soon fill himself with, but with the unforeseen bonding of his soul to Huilu the trip was planned for two. India, a place steeped in rich history and culture from even before he was last in the outer world. It was going to be joyous, exhilarating, and with any luck romantic for both of them.

Though that was not the reason for him flying over to Huilu's home now. No, those grand plans had been pushed aside for far more important things, family. While the details were still foreign to him he knew that Huilu's mind was not worried about him or some romantic getaway but the welfare of her children as it should be. Knowing how much the trip meant to her made him feel for her more as the event took easy precedence. Instead of abandoning her and her family to deal with the event on their own he thought it best to support her in these trying times.

The structured schedule he had prepared filed away in his study and the number of suitcases prepared neatly tucked away until they would once again be called upon. The day was nice, but Irso could find little enjoyment in the day as he grew closer to her home. He hadn't spoken to her today and oped her state was well enough to receive him. An ear to speak to, a shoulder to cry on, he was prepared for all myriad of emotion as the level of grief a mother would feel for her child's pain was not new to him.

Landing in front of her door, he would knock a few times and ring the bell once. Her hearing was superior enough to not require repeated banging or ringing. Standing at the doorway his hands grew warmer as the bag in his hands let off hot steam against the cold air. The smell of spices permeating into the air and diffusing all around him. Just because Huilu couldn't go to India didn't mean he couldn't bring a bit of India to her. A place not far from the school sold rather good Indian food so it was an easy choice for him to pick some up and fly it to her.

When and if Huliu opened the door Irso would hold the bag up and say "I brought lunch." with a small smile.

These circumstances and hardships were new for both Huilu and Eein and the rest of their family. They were recovering, and although not being able to find the one responsible for Eein experience was frustrating and nearly devastating they were surviving. Naturally Eein wasn't still feeling like his normal self, Huilu was certain an event such as this would leave a permanent mark. But that should not be fixed, but Eein would just let his wound heal, and then learn to live with his scars, supported by the love and concern of his family. Huilu was trying her best to be more attentive and adjust herself to cover the areas she had left unchecked before this incident. And all in all she, Eein and the rest were quite tired, mentally and physically.

And when Huilu felt mentally exhausted she sculpted. Tried to get her negative feelings and burdens out through her art. And most of the time it worked, or at least helped, and that was what it did even now. Huilu started to feel a bit better, slowly but surely, as her fingers traveled on the ice's surface, imagining the shapes her emotions would carve on its surface, and then her powers would mold the ice and allow it to flow into what was her inner turmoil given form. Looking at it made Huilu uneasy, sad, regretful, and even angry. And that meant it had the wished effect.
"Upon a one lone stormy night..."
Huilu started humming and quietly singing, as she continued her work, erasing this piece and starting on a new one.

Huilu didn't know for how long she kept on this work, creating a piece only to erase it, until she heard a knock and then a doorbell ring from the main door. Huilu's workshop was sound proofed, so she had almost missed it. Huilu looked up and at the clock, it wasn't time for the children to come back yet. Huilu walked out and over to the door, her outer appearance was rather casual, a look you wouldn't see on Huilu outside the house. Her long hair was on a messy bun and strands of hair were escaping from it, she was wearing a rather big, comfy-looking sweater that had a turtleneck, and she was wearing sweatpants. Huilu's feet were bare, and her ice toes clacked against the floor as she walked.

Huilu opened the door and was greeted by Irso's face and the scent of something delicious. Seeing the man's face automatically brought a small smile on Huilu's face, and her expression was pleasantly surprised.
"Irso! Wonderful to see you."
Huilu said, her voice was slightly tired but overall she would seem like her usual bright self. And her appearance spoke for itself when it came to her mental state, Huilu had slight bags under her eyes. Huilu only realized how she must've looked. but she did not have the will or energy to fix herself up, Irso wasn't going to be scared away by Huilu looking comfortable.
"I had not even realized it was lunch time already. I was slightly preoccupied."
Huilu's tone was almost apologetic, and she pulled Irso inside by his hand and closed the door. Huilu would keep her hand in Irso's as she looked at him with intrigue in her eyes.
"That food has a simply delicious scent, whatever is it?"

Irso smiled when he saw her face brighten a bit. It was flattering to know he had such an effect on her mood and so to did his smile grow from a small one to a large one. He allowed himself to be pulled inside, sharing a small moment with Huilu's heterochromatic eyes. He was a lucky man and reminded himself of that every time he was able to hold her in his arms and share time with her.

With a small bud of lust and love, blooming Irso gave her a kiss on the forehead before answering her question " I thought you'd like some Indian food to prepare your palette for our inevitable trip in the future." He said with a smirk as he opened the large bag. " I have curry goat, chicken tikki masala, some tandoori chicken, and naan bread to go with all." He'd had the curry goat before but the chicken tikki masala was new for him and he enjoyed the scent it let off.

He gave Huliu a once over after giving the list and realized how comfortable Huilu seemed at home, her toes clacking against the floor, and her hair given off strands of creativity as she was clearly hard at work with something, most likely sculpting. "You are looking radiant today, did I interrupt you in the middle of something important?" He'd set the bag down somewhere and remove the jacket he'd been wearing to cover himself from the small chill outside.

While he had a proper turtleneck sweater underneath he would quickly take it off as it was not part of his attire for the day, simply something to keep warm. Yes, he was shirtless today, save for his usual jewelry and black harem pants. It was by personal choice he came like this, he'd gone shirtless on many of his trips and with Manta Carlos being a melting pot no one found it weird when they saw him. On Mes, it would've been appropriate, in many places actually it was the norm.

Huilu had seen him shirtless before so he had little nervousness or qualm with her being present. Folding his clothes neatly he'd set them aside, taking the bag back up in his hands. He assumed the kids were not home as not a stir came from the house besides those two, With three kids and one of them being the curious type he expected to see a poking head or a hidden investigator.

The kiss Irso gave Huilu's forehead warmed her heart and soul, and managed to allow her to relax some more. Huilu didn't want to be consumed by her stress when with Irso, so she was thankful she had done some sculpting before this. And Irso's company was always relaxing to her.
"Indian food? So that is why this scent is so rich. I have heard Indian food excels in using spices."
Huilu was intrigued and looked at the bag, and then at Irso. To show her gratitude she tiptoed and pressed a kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you, from both me and my palate."
Irso had said 'inevitable trip', and that made Huilu feel happy and hopeful. She had felt guilty for canceling on Irso, but he had been so understanding, and was even going to stay behind for her.

Of course Irso would call Huilu radiant, when appearance wise Irso was now seeing her at her worst yet. She smiled at the man appreciatively, feeling flattered by the compliment, and helped him by taking the jacket and hanging it up on some coat hooks that lined the wall near the door.
"It wasn't a matter of great importance, merely some personal sculpting. It it a good time to have a break and nothing would make me happier than to spend it with you. And some delicious food."
Huilu explained, truly relieved Irso had shown up when he did. Perhaps his company was exactly what Huilu needed right now.

Huilu was both an artist and a dragon, and thus shirtless individuals, especially male, were not something that fazed her. And in Irso's case being shirtless seemed to be normal and Huilu was used to it by this point. Thus she was not surprised when Irso took off his shirt, although Huilu was but a person and a woman and couldn't help but take a short moment to admire Irso's torso, when the shirt was covering his face from view. And when he would look at her again Huilu's eyes were strictly on his eyes and face and she was smiling her usual small smile.

As the two began moving towards the kitchen Huilu also took notice of how quiet the house seemed now, that the children were gone.
"We should be able to appreciate this silence for few hours more, before the children come back. Whisp and S'loo are out shopping and Eein is at therapy."
Huilu wasn't ashamed of admitting that Eein had a therapist now. Rather, she had told it to Irso when the decision had been made because she trusted that he understood. In the same vein she had also told him about her decision to go to therapy as well, but her sessions were just once a week.

In the kitchen Huilu began taking out some plates for the food, and if Irso wanted to assist Huilu trusted him to remember where everything was. He had been here more than once, after all.
"Would you like to enjoy the food by the table or in the living room? I do believe I have some Law and Order recorded."
Huilu asked as she set the plates down, and sent Irso a slightly teasing smile and chuckled. She was not joking though, Huilu had been hooked in watching series with mysteries and Criminal Minds and CSI Miami were other series she once in a while watched, sometimes alone and sometimes with the children.

Irso was elated at the prospect of pure alone time with Huilu. It wasn't that he held any disdain for the young ones but of course holding the full attention of his partner was appealing to most people. It would be as if they were in their own world, for a moments time at least. Now was the time for Huilu to dote on the children in her care. Eeins assault surely struck her deeply so Irso expected large worry and panic, it was only natural. Pulling her thoughts away from that darkness, even for a moment, was something he wished to accomplish.

Huilu's home was as nice as ever, and with the number of times he'd been here he'd mapped out the place to the best of his ability. Getting the right plates and cups from the appropriate cabinet he would help Huilu in setting up the food. In the case that the children were here, he'd had gotten copious amounts of everything but with their absence, a nice amount of leftovers could be saved for later. He didn't know how long the two girls had been out shopping but he made a slight wish to a random god that the food remained warm enough for them on their return.

As for Eein he held little worry on the temperature of his food but more the stability of his mind, body, and soul. For them, this was a grievous wound and scarring upon the boy so he wondered how the young boy was settling with the new reality of what had happened. The look of change when one was faced with a momentous affliction, something he eagerly studied in the past. A silent prayer for Eein went out to another god and Irso toned back into the miniature world he and Huilu were inhabiting at the moment.

Hearing her say she taped law and order brought about a small laugh as he returned the kiss on the cheek from earlier. Her kisses, despite her cold aura, brought warmth to his face from the cold outside and so he imparted some of that warmth onto her in shock that she had gone so far to record one of his favored shows.

"Watching one of my favorite shows with my favorite person. I must say I feel the tables have turned and you're treating me to regal care." He spoke fixing some food for himself. "How could I possibly refuse such an offer."

Irso would move to assist Huilu in fixing her food if he saw the opportunity and when both were done he would carry the food to her living room. "If there is anything I can do for you while I'm here just let me know. Consider me your guardian angel Lady Ehr'Sha" he jested but was serious in the offer of service. Easing any stress off her would be beneficial in the long run for everyone.

The way Irso considered Huilu's children as much as he did her was something she was immensely grateful for, and it made Irso that much more attractive to her. She could even see it in the amount of food he had brought, Irso had made sure that there would be enough for everyone. For some reason, in this situation, it made Huilu want to cry a bit. But she didn't, she didn't want to ruin this moment because her stress had made her feel even more emotional than usual. Truly, it was a miracle Irso did not had a partner currently, considering how good he was to Huilu. But that just meant she was very lucky, and happy to be with him.

Huilu gladly received the kiss on her cheek, smiling happily.
"I do believe the tables are now even, as you went as far as to bring me delicious food and yourself. And so I give you your favourite show and myself."
Huilu answered with a chuckle, and as soon as Irso was done getting food for himself she began to do so. Huilu didn't have a large appetite, and it had lessened even more these days because of stress, but Huilu hadn't eaten in quite a while and took a generous amount. Nothing outrageous, however, and she made sure to leave some for the children.

Irso assisted Huilu in getting her food, and even carried the plates for her. She felt like she was being spoiled, and didn't completely hate it. Perhaps because it was Irso.
"I was not aware guardian angels served their wards like this as well. I have learned something new."
Huilu joked a bit, and as they got to the living room she took two small foldable tables from a small closet by the television and brought them over to the couch.
"These were Whisp's idea, they are quite useful."
Huilu explained as she sat down, taking her plate from Irso and setting it on the table. Huilu had carried the forks and knives and gave Irso his as he sat down as well.

Huilu instictively sat close to Irso, and as she opened the television and began searching for the episodes she had recorded Huilu pulled over a blanket that had been thrown over the arm of the couch.
"I wouldn't want you to get cold, please use this if you want."
Huilu said with a gentle smile, the inside of the house was of normal temperature but if Irso sat next to her shirtless for long enough surely the chill emanating from her would get to him.

Huilu had indeed given herself over to him these past months. Sometimes he felt bad for stealing her away from her family and greater duties as a clan member. He could not lie to himself, going to work and knowing that when he came home he may get a call from Huilu made him ever eager to lay in his bed reading with the phone right next to him. Hearing about her day, or releasing some of his days to her was a joy, a person to talk to so that he may escape his own thoughts on occasion was a blessing.

Chuckling at Huilu's quip he helped set up the tables in the living room. His home allowed him to set the kitchen table in view of the television so he'd never thought of buying small tables for the living room. Whisp was a bright one so he wasn't surprised to hear it was her idea to get them. Making a mental note to purchase a few for his home he took a seat close next to Huilu. The cold emanating off her body was a shock at first for his bare skin but it quickly settled as the temperature was familiar to him. Still, out of respect and contingency, he took the blanket. It was nice of her to dote on him but again the tables had turned and she was taking care of him.

"I'll be fine, though usually when in cold situations two people would huddle closer together for warmth. I dare say my mind might forget your cold radiance and push my body closer to you over time." Obviously, that would not happen but poking fun at Huilu was a pleasure of his he indulged when able. It was true that in their short time together they had not had sex but Irso didn't think much of it. As appealing as she was Huilu's body wasn't his reason for going to art galleries, having lunches in the park, laughing on the couch, or rushing here with haste. It was her mind, the thoughts it held and the person it animated. Though he had to admit the thought did cross his mind on occasion.

Irso crossed his legs on the couch, a habit of his, and said a low prayer of thanks in Oleti over his food. It was not to Khalida of course but to the cosmos which had granted him the gift of existing. "Tell me, how have the children been?" Despite saying his prayer already he'd wait for Huilu to start eating first before he began. It only seemed right considering he'd given an Oleti prayer, why not indulge the culture more?

Ever since Huilu had begun seeing Irso, or perhaps ever since she had met the man, Huilu had felt...fulfilled in a way she had never before. Like she had found something she had been looking for for a long time. Huilu loved and treasured her family more than anything else, but she had a feeling that she might someday feel just as strongly about Irso. She felt like he could become her family as well. And although it was much too early for Huilu to feel that strongly she treasured Irso and this time with him, and she didn't feel guilty spending this time away from her family and with Irso. Because Irso made Huilu feel like she needed to treasure herself as well.

"Yes, I have heard that is the norm, and something I imagine I might rather enjoy. But I would not for the life of me want to me responsible for you succumbing into hypothermia, no matter how radiant my personality is I am afraid it does not emit any actual warmth."
Huilu teased Irso back, and nudged his bare shoulder with her own sweater clad one. It was true the thought of being close to Irso, much closer than this, was one Huilu enjoyed. But in her current life situation Huilu felt like it would've been...irresponsible to pursue such a connection with Irso, and she knew her body was still not ready for it. And she wanted to wait until the worst was over, until Eein could enjoy life again. Irso was kind, and willing to wait for her, and that was one more reason for Huilu to want to be with him physically as well. One day soon.

Huilu found the Law and Order episodes, and as Irso said his prayer Huilu pressed the play button. The volume was low enough so the two could carry on a conversation, but not too low so they could still hear the TV. Well, so Irso could hear the TV. Huilu had the hearing of a wolf.
"You simply must teach me Oleti, it sounds like the language of mysteries and beauty."
Huilu remarked with an intrigued tone, she had mentioned about being interested about Oleti before, but the more Irso had made her familiar with it more Huilu wanted to properly learn it. Also because it was Irso's language, and she wanted to get to know his culture just like he was getting to know hers.

"The children are...as well as they can be. Eein is gradually recovering, I have been happy to notice."
And Huilu did seem happy when mentioning that, though during saying the rest of the sentence the shadow of concern passed over Huilu's face. But she didn't want to ruin this moment with her stress and thus she moved on, taking a fork in hand and taking some food on it.
"And as always Whisp is a very eager cook. If this is as good as its scent then I must warn you, she will pester you for the recipe."
Huilu chuckled, and ate some of the food. It was indeed delicious, and the pleasant surprise showed on Huilu's face.

Irso smiled to hear that the girls and Eein were slowly acclimating to the new reality. An event like that effects everyone and the gravity of it, in this case, was surely a shock to the greater community on the island. Irso had not been given the opportunity to meet a great many of Huilu's kin on the island so he could not give proper condolences to them in person. It didn't bother him much in the grand scheme, as long as Eein and Huilu knew that his soul was with them he felt slightly better and hoped they did too.

He took a spoonful of curry into his mouth, admiring the taste, before asking a follow-up question. "That's great to hear, and how are you doing?" His tone was casual as he didn't want her to think he was worried about her at the present time "Has therapy been well for you?" The question was as clear cut and straight as he could possibly make it. He didn't want to know the details of her sessions just that the session itself was doing her some good. He knew of some people in which therapy was a waste of time and others who found it a necessity in their healing. Knowing which of the two Huilu was would take time and deducement as few ever gave a truthful answer.

His ears toned in on the episode playing in front of him and it took less than a second for him to realize he had seen this one before. It was an early episode in the show's history and the main cast all sounded younger and less refined than in the current seasons. He didn't mind though, it was the thought that count behind Huilus gesture and if this was possibly her first time seeing it he would revel to see her breakdown and question things.

His real focus, however, would be on her response as he traced the tone of her voice, the pitch, speed, breath of words, all signals that could be transcribed into a deeper message and lend him more information on how to better. He never took her for a liar or less than a straight shooter but it was in his nature to analyze and dissect.

Huilu chewed and swallowed his food before she answered Irso's question. Huilu would be honest with him, as she saw no sense in lying when her demeanor was most probably a giveaway to her stress. Irso was perceptive, he would've caught on the signs even if Huilu tried to hide her anxiety.
"I will not lie to you, I have been under pressure lately. I imagine it has not been hard to see or at least conclude. But just like Eein and everyone else it is gradually becoming better. Therapy is assisting me with the process a lot, and the support from my family and you."
Huilu wanted Irso to know, that she truly was grateful for his existence and support. And it showed in her smile and expression as she looked at him. Huilu had avoided shouldering Irso with too much of her package and grief, but despite that he had voluntarily shouldered more than enough of it to give Huilu breathing room and time to recover.

For a moment Huilu concentrated on the show, she had not seen most of the episodes from the very early seasons, as she had began watching from the more recent releases. It was fascinating to see how much progress the show and the actors had gone through, and Huilu found her eyes moving to watch the screen. She wanted to perhaps lean on Irso, but held back from it for now due to her cold aura. So Huilu continued eating her Indian food, with each bite enjoying the exotic taste thoroughly.
"I cannot wait to experience this cuisine in the country it originated from, to taste dishes with even more perfected taste. I can even now feel the spices telling a story on my palate."
She commented, perhaps bit elaborately but that was just Huilu, and she reached up and pulled her hair free from the bun. It felt nice and relaxing to let her hair down, literally and figuratively.
