Aurum watched her almost land on his fist and he smiled. Though it seemed she rolled off his fist. With an open eye he took a moment to figure out what was going on, but almost instinctively He turned on the balls on his feet and leaned to the side as well as a little backwards. Feeling the breeze go by of the baton. Any closer and Aurum would have needed to get a new nose to match his eye.

"Even if a deity does not exist. Does that mean all Religion is null and void? Your Faith is where you place it. In a person, place or even a thing."

The blue around his hands died. Power wasn't going to work here, he needed to be tactful as his eyes blazed blue once more as he smirked.

"It should have, that hit might have been too much for a human to handle. Then again, let's see how far your luck will take you."

He turned his left and into a finger gun and pointed at Aurora. With a small smile on his face he moved his hand up and down.

"Bang." was said in tandem as hopefully it was enough distraction for a bench to be pulled towards Aurum. From behind his 'Sparring' Partner. It would take her out at the legs and pull Aurora towards Aurum as he pulled back his fist.

"Let's see what Divine Protection you have!"
Should Aurora get out of the way of the fist by some form of sheer luck. The bunch would break in half from the force of his fist. Even though this man could probably lift a car like nothing. He wasn't sure on where his strength could take him.

"Of course not. We use religion for a multitude of reasons, both good and bad. But of all the reasons, zeal has not been particularly pleasant for the inhabitants of our world."

Frankly, it got more people killed than not. Of course there were many different kinds of zeal, the term was most often used when conducting a sort of crusade. History had seen how that turned out. It wasn't a pleasant thing.

"Well, luck isn't all of it. It just has a tendency of helping those that are outmatched."

Although Aurora wasn't outmatched in the slightest frankly...it only looked as if David was taking Goliath, but the truth was probably much more even than that analogy could have made things out to be. Although of course, Aurum wouldn't have any of that.

Aurora pulled her own gun as soon as he had made the gesture, at first wondering what he was trying to pull. She was soon answered.

A bench. He was pulling a bench. Literally.

Aurora whipped around, shooting slugs into the bench and rotting its wood. She did his job for him, and with a swing, shattered the wood, and sent it flying around her. Covering herself immediately, Aurora nudged the trajectory of some of the splinters ever so slightly at Aurum's face.

Aurora rubbed her arm. Despite the weakening she had put on the wood, she did not have nearly as much strength as her opponent did.

"I appreciate the pick up, but it's certainly not necessary."

In an insulting move, an owl flying overhead decided to dump its load on Aurum's head. Aurora giggled, maybe having something to do with that...or maybe not.

Nobody really knew.

"You on the other hand appear quite unlucky."

Aurora aimed for Aurum's left leg, not deceiving what she was attempting. The mage fired simply, aiming to see either how much damage he could tolerate, or at least deal with by moving. Either was fine.

"Religion is what drove me, The Emperor of Mankind showed that no man will ever die if his will is pure and strong. Even humans make mistakes. Even if he does not exist " He said as he was pelted with bits, his hand over his face as he walked backwards., almost stepping into an owl shitting on his head. Feeling it on his head he took out a small cloth and rubbed his bald head.

He tossed the article away as he cracked his knuckles and kneck.

"And not the out gunned?" He said, Aurum was used to fighting Daemons, his skin was stronger than almost anything. Especially this time period. "I? you refer to some form of entity?"

Though things seemed unlucky and unlikely to either call out a draw or if Aurum can get one hit on Aurora, he was gauging her combat prowess, it seems that her 'powers' dealt with matches. As in; Aurum was far more powerful than Aurora, but her power can change the tide using sheer luck.

Aurum felt what was a sharp pain in his knee. A bullet was in his skin, just the skin as he pulled it out and held it in his fingers it had some blood on it, as if it was just a scratch. It took a moment for him to get it out as his fingers were large and he pointed it at Aurora.

The bullet left his fingers as he made a fluent motion with both hands. The bullet went flying towards her feet, just in front as he followed promptly after and then went into more of a slide than a punch, hoping she would go over Aurum, he would attempt to grab her feet to try to get her to the ground. That would be a good start.

Aurora was not going to be able to keep up these lucky coincidences forever, in fact, she was going to have to step up her game and start actually fighting with heavier firepower, or at least even the score up a little bit if she wanted to fight without busting out some of her more vulgar spells; you know, the ones that really started toying with forces that should otherwise remain in place.

The mage smiled. At the very least, Aurora would probably never be able to sway the fact that where Aurum came from was a very different place. And while maybe the Emperor he spoke about technically no longer existed, she could feel a little of his power standing right in front of her.

That was a pretty excellent sight in the least.

"I don't think I'm out-gunned. Just need better aim."

Just like all humans, Aurum had points about his body that dealt with keeping entropy at bay. Major organs, and other minor ones that dealt with self-repair. Of course, being from a time where medical technology had advanced to such a ridiculous degree, there were many more of these points of entropic stasis than any normal human.

It also meant more targets.

Unfortunately, Aurum was going to get his chance to do some damage. Before she could fire again, he was in something of a power slide and the only way around his wingspan would be over. The mage took a snapshot.

Also a bad idea. Going over was exactly what he had wanted, as Aurora felt the grasp of one of Aurum's large hands grabbed onto her leg. If she was going to go down for this, maybe at the very least she could fire her weapon before being entirely pinned down...going for the very points in Aurum's body that made him tick.

Of course not to kill him, but enough that he'd get the message that she wasn't to be trifled with, even if she was going to be in the proverbial hospital for a few weeks.

Aurum found the coincidences odd. As if another being had a hand on this. Aurum's powers were meant for something like that. Though he'd need to see the force at work before cutting off he 'help' if that's what it was.

aurum felt a few bullets hit him. One of them hit home. It dug into his chest a little getting close to one of his hearts. The rest went in but were by non vital organs.

He laid on the ground and let go of Aurora. Feeling his warm blood flow. It was years since he saw it. His fingers ran across the wound that was made. His red blood shimmered in the light. It was a little dirty with the dirt on his hand from the slide.

He'd recover.

Standing up took him a moment. He felt a shot of pain as he attempted and needed to get the bullets out. He had neither his glaive or a doctor with him.

"Well Aurora. You have made your point. Though I fear you didn't want to just see my prowess in combat. Your motive seems to be that of a test."

He said rubbing his chin with a hand as he knelt by her.

If anyone else had seen this admittedly crazy exchange, Aurora would have been tried and convicted for aggravated assault or attempted murder. That of course, was nothing of the case. Strangely though however, Aurum had stopped right after she had shot her; although she had fully intended for him to absolutely crush her after that grab.

Once again, extremely lucky. She could have...hell, should have been in the hospital for some time after that, but instead, now Aurum was the one that was injured and bleeding. The mage actually felt bad for drawing weapons on him. It was something of a dirty trick.

"I was not intending to either test, nor see your prowess. But I've found that some combat helps me understand someone better. I'm sorry for your injuries...one moment."

Aurora circled behind him, and rested her hand upon his back while channel a small mix of temporal and entropic energies. The bullets that had done the most damage pulled themselves out through the same entry wounds that they had caused, which then closed up themselves.

"I hope that feels better, that's the first time in awhile I've every fire those at anyone that was actually alive."

Aurum was bleeding it was true, the wound was taking it's time closing as the wounds were superficial and not mortally wounding. It took more than that to put Aurum on the ground as he stood up on his feet and dusted himself off again. Cracking his neck for a moment his Optics needed to be fixed on his spare time as there was a nice crack on it he didn't notice in the heat of combat.

"Your Theory is correct Aurora. I would have done the same in your position with those who were under me. It gave me a chance to see the fruit of their training. Though next time. I shall have use of a weapon. It shall make it. Fair." He said with a smile. Grabbing his jacket off the tree and putting it on. Taking his gloves out and putting them on.

Aurum winced a moment watching the bullets leave.

"Time will heal me. That is all I require, and all I have."

"I hope not to make a habit of fighting those that pop out of wormholes, but you appear a very capable man; so I hope that at least you think it was justified. Although I'm something a trickster in a fight, I probably should not have done that in a straight up fight, and I apologize for that."

Being a trickster in a fight was a good thing when you were fighting for your life. But fighting for understanding meant that you needed to leave yourself somewhat vulnerable to get hit. Aurum had done that quite a bit, but Aurora played as if being scared to take a hit. She could take it, even with Aurum's notable strength...but she was scared.

"Then maybe it is of notable irony that time has healed you today as well, hm?"

Time magic could be a wonderful thing. It wasn't actually something that Aurora used very often, or for good, so at least in this case, she could make at least something of a difference.

"We should probably go before someone decides to look around. Firearm reports at a supernatural school or not are generally not looked kindly upon."

"You wished to figure out my physical and mental prowess. In your position. I would have done the same. I pray that you would let me know before you do such a task. Being a trickster only goes so far."

Aurum always fought as if his life depend on it. As if every shot that he heard would be his end. Though with this day in age. He could almost look at someone and kill them. With their own weapon if they got close enough with a true weapon. Not something made of the mind. Not something created by his own mind.

"Time heals all wounds, but time and my gene's have my favor Aurora. Maybe one day we will speak about just in case if someone.... Bests me." Aurum stated. With his hand slowly moving in a gesture as if no one could without some kind of special means.

Aurum considered leaving. Then he turned his back to Aurora and began to walk away. he eventually stopped as he looked back at her.

"Indeed. I shall be with in the confines of my room if you need me Aurora. I may think about about a job at the school if you so desire me to. Inquisi-"

He stopped himself and just began to walk away. He opened a door and began walking around the school back to his room. Maybe to the cafe to get some water first. He was rather thirsty after all that.
