Alpha looked around, teal eyes staring unblinkingly. The city life.... Born and raised in Chicago, it was nothing new to him. He had the street smarts, and knew what to do and what not to do.... And one of those was not stare people in the eye yet still give off enough of a presence that no one messed with you. How does one do that, you ask? Well for Alpha, that was easy; he had a resting bitch face despite being male. The way his eyebrows and lips were naturally shaped gave him the perfect permanent scowl, and his tendency to keep his eyes half-lidded made him seem bored by everyone and everything. Too angry to mess with, too "I'm bored, and I want to stay that way" for anyone to try and mingle.

Of course, there were always exceptions. And exceptions were either ignored or amused.

Luckily, today, there had yet to be any exceptions. Alpha was left well enough alone as he walked, his earbuds pressed firmly into his ears. To those with superhuman hearing, it was obvious he was listening to some of the newer rappers that actually said things. His playlist randomly played things from NWA and Tupac to Logic and J. Cole; but the only thing that could ever be heard was rap.

On his adventure this particular day, he somehow found himself outside of cafe of some sort. Cafes always had cookies and hot chocolate..... Suddenly wanting those exact items, Alpha opened the door slightly and easily slipped in, his afro making the doorbell ring for a second time on entrance. He walked up to the counter, at the back of a small line. He easily looked over other's heads [he was pretty tall] at the menu, noting within a few minutes the hot chocolate and cookies. Time for some breakfast.

Shay was a fan of cafes. There was a particular air about them that always made her feel brighter. This month, that was less true. Eroshay's month had and continued to be the closest to perfect she'd ever had it. Powers in better check, going to SpaceCon with Toby, meeting Dorian Crawford, and family life was -- well it was the Rosales.

She donned her family's crest proudly on the breast of her school uniform, as she had since she'd first created the pins on father's day. Sure, it earned her a few wary glances. The Rosales were a well-known crime family and the closest thing Manta Carlos had to a mob. More a gang, but Shay loved to say 'mob' and annoying officer, Angelo. It was a habit she'd picked up from her father, Klaus, no doubt.

Eroshay fully intended to order a coffee. Nothing fancy, just her lifeblood. On only four hours of sleep and a whole schedule of charity work, it was either coffee, drugs, or energy drinks. She opted for the first.

It wasn't long after Shay had even entered the building that her name was called, and she stepped up to get her usual order. Being a kingpin's daughter, wealthy, and a regular gave you 'skip-the-line' privileges. That was still something Shay had to get used to, and if she weren't so happy, she might have cared to show it with a nervous laugh or blush.
