Sinaloa followed quietly, only a step behind Angelo. She never looked up to see where they were going, didn't want to know if people were still watching. She couldn't think of a reason why the on duty officers would care that Angelo was escorting a civilian, but after the scene she'd made out front Sinaloa expected people to be giving her sour looks. Angelo had real work to do. Time spent babysitting her was time not spent catching criminals, or something.

It didn't take much prompting for Sinaloa to plop down and settle into the middle of a couch, hugging her bag to her chest.

"No. It's been... Um. Two weeks? I think. Something like that. I gotta go back in a bit just to well, make sure I'm not gonna pull any stunts I guess."

She wouldn't look up at Angelo, keeping her eyes focused on the ground. Sinaloa just kept talking, even though the question had been answered, although this time the word vomit was understandable.

"I have a job and all that. If I didn't find something to occupy my time with I probably would have gone back, eventually. I have goldfish now." She nodded to herself, as if that was something of great importance. "When I was on the Islets, my therapist told me it would be a bad idea to try and visit you. To apologise. What I did was... stupid. 'n I should've just. Found a doctor or something. I'm sorry for wasting your time. That time, and today."

So she'd come all this way against her therapist's orders. To apologize. To apologize for... what, making him do his job? To Angelo, the past was in the past. He'd never been one to linger on things, never been one to obsess over things that had gone by. If he hadn't apologized within a week or two, it was safe to say he wasn't going to apologize at all.

Truthfully, he barely remembered his last few interactions with Tiny. She'd been a mess when he arrested her, he knew that much, and he knew she'd... what, robbed a bank only not really?

God, it was a mess.

"Well, it's behind us," Angelo said. "Really. It's not a big deal, and I'm not going to be hung up over something that happened so long ago. It's good you're getting help, and you should... keep doing that, I guess."

Angelo was probably not the best person to ask about that. His mental health had, for the most part, been pretty stable despite everything he'd gone through.

Tiny withdrew, shrinking into herself. Was there even anything left to say? She'd come and done what she intended to do. She'd said her apology and now she was struggling to come up with a reason to stay, despite having agreed to move the conversation to the back room. Sinaloa regretted leaving the house today. She continued to regret most of her life choices, but that wouldn't change anything.

"I uh. I am. Gonna keep... doing that thing. I uh. Also heard you're a dad now so that's cool I guess?"

Tiny fidgeted, shutting the power bracelet on and then off agian repeatedly. Was that a bad thing to ask? Maybe Angelo wasn't supposed to talk about it.

"I'm sorry. I.. I shouldn't be asking about that should I?"

Angelo wasn't really that surprised Tiny knew. The fact that he'd adopted people might have been secretive, but adopting eleven kids? There was no hiding that. Adopting eleven kids from the literal mafia? Even more so.

"Yeah," Angelo said, unbothered by her asking. "All the old kids who were living with the Rosales family are living with me now. Wanted to give them a second chance, away from that kind of lifestyle. Was a bit of an adjustment for them, but I think they're happier overall."

He looked proud as he said it, happy with what he'd done. Giving a chance he almost hadn't gotten himself.

Tiny was silent for a spell, considering Angelo's response. There was something in the way he said it, something familiar that she couldn't put her finger on. The look on his face was definitely happiness, but something else too.

"That's really good. I'd probably be stuck in some hole in a wall doing nothing without Matthew. You.. you're a really good person, Angelo. Thank you for not.. sending me away or something. I don't know what else to say."

Well, she'd said her piece, hadn't she? Angelo nodded in response, giving her what he hoped was a smile that didn't look too tired.

"Don't think I'm anything special," Angelo pointed out. "And you aren't a bother. If you see me around, feel free to say hi, alright?"

But it was obvious she was done, so Angelo carefully got up, guiding Tiny back through the maze of the station to the door she'd come in through.

"Take care of yourself, alright?"
