Staying a bit after to finish some paperwork and clean up the classroom, Dollop slips out the doorway and into the halls. With classes over for the day they oozed their own down the corridor but peeking through the window slits on each of classroom door as they passed by. Usually these rooms were dark and had no one inside but there was one exception: a single occupant in one of the classrooms working on a piece of artwork it seemed. Curious, Dollop observed the student do their work for a few moments, then opened the door.

"Oh pardon the intrusion... I couldn't help but notice that seemed hard at work and wished to check in. How long do you plan to stay in the classroom?" inquired the oil slime as they poke their head through the door.

He should have been in his room by now, but Sumi had to do something he absolutely couldn't at any other time. Earlier the Ink Tsukumogami had been working on a very detailed Sumi-e piece of a Japanese woman, however... Horned, wearing a tiger-striped jacket pelt, of tanned skin? She certainly looked gorgeous, an amazonian beauty of the East, and also... His mother, in a way. Sumi wouldn't stop at nothing... At least until someone caught him.

"EEK!", he jumped slightly, his brush slipping a little and adding a couple more stripes to the wrong part of the oni woman's clothes. Sumi hastily corrected it somehow and sighed in relief before addressing Dollop: "I shouldn't take long, and I shouldn't be here I know. I just need to give some nice touches at the clothes and sketch the background. It's just a wall scroll."

Dollop placed a hand over her mouth to stifle a laugh at the student's brief panic. It wasn't that uncommon for them to see a young student stay in a little longer to try to finish up their current artwork. Whether it was for self satisfaction or to make a tight deadline, Dollop appreciates it when students are will to put in the time and have passion for their art.

"In that case, would you mind if observe while you finish up? " inquired Dollop as their neck elongates a bit to try to get a better look at the piece the student was working on. "I assure that I am not going to grade nor critique, merely marvel your current creation is all want."

Quickly Sumi regained his composure and observed Dollop sneak a lot into his wall scroll. Not that he had anything to hide, after all... If anything, he was only ashamed to have stayed past the bell. "It is alright by me.", and so he resumed painting, "So... Are you too an Ink Tool Spirit as well? And I don't think we ever met before, sorry... My name is Sumi no Ookami."

"Ink spirit? Errrmmm... " Dollop inspect their right arm as the viscous paint droops under the influence of gravity. After some thought on how to phrase their answer they turn their attention back to Sumi

"Of sorts but not quite? I am actually just big puddle of oil paint animated to life because... errrmmm-" Dollop then claps their together, which melt into each other. As they pull the hands apart like taffy into pastel rainbow as they exclaim " -MAGIC!"

Their is smirk on Dollop's face as they flick both of their hands to the side, the oily rainbow snaps in half and is then reabsorbed into their body.

"Ah... Sumi! Such a delightful name~ I take that you are type of Yokai if your name is anything to go by? Either way, you are perhaps the only person whom I know of that is made of art like myself. It is uncommon to find one made of living ink as one of living paint." they then smile warmly to Sumi "Ah here I am babbling on and didn't have the decency to introduce myself; I am Dollop, one of the resident art teachers at this fine school. "

"Hm... I suppose that makes you more like a golem or a shikigami then... But you are correct, I am a yokai. A Tsukumogami or, as I translated, Tool Spirit.", he was indeed smiling at the thought of them being made of art. Indeed, his ink has been used for art in a recent time, and that he admired...

So, Dollop happened to be an art teacher?! What were the odds?! Since she didn't seem upset by him intruding an empty class to finish his work, this has become a huge relief... "Odd that we never met then. After all, I spend most of my time doing art.", he gestured with his brush towards his randoseru, from which a few sheets of paper protected in a plastic envelope could be seen peeking out, in each of those sheets there was a different drawing in manga style.

"Certainly peculiar that we never met! I am hard to miss but this is a big school." remarked Dollop "Well what grade might you be in Sumi? I tend to teach at the high school level for the students here."

As they asked their question, Dollop moves in closer to analyze the ink illustration of the exotic woman. There was a great big grin on their face as they continue to eye the piece.

"That might be why... After all, I'm still in 7th Grade Middle School.", as he worked now on the background, Sumi gave a small chuckle, noticing how close Dollop was. "I may not seem like it... But I'm sixteen. Even studied in human schools disguised as one of them. Funny, don't you think? For a yokai to live among humans like that.", he chuckled.
