Biography:
Lyr was hatched centuries ago to an ancient, long since forgotten clan of sea wyrms in the far east. They hunted sea creatures mostly for their food, using their special magic to paralyze their prey. The human sailors who did encounter these wyrms were said to claim they were good luck. Sailors were known to gather on the decks to watch the wyrms swim by and the recall the next morning that it had been the best sleep they had ever experienced. Eventually though as human populations increased more and more ships took to the seas and some started to call the wyrms sea monsters. When they found out that the wyrms had been living among them as humans they panicked and a witch hunt rooted out most of the egg clutches. The wyrms were fearsome foes but humanity had overwhelming numbers.
Lyr is the last of her people as far as she knows. Her mother escaped across the ocean with her in desperation after her nest had been found. The angry mob had smashed her eggs and mortally wounded Lyrs mother. Through sheer volume of attacks they had also managed to get a lucky strike on Lyr and managed to pierce her abdomen with spears as she fled into the water. She had removed the spears but the damage had been done. Her reproductive organs were too far gone to be healed. Lyrs mother died of her wounds a few days later. Lyr has grown up hiding her true nature from humanity and time has mostly healed her hatred for them. She was rendered infertile by her injuries in youth and cannot have children of her own.
She sort of took it upon herself to try to keep people from getting so angry and destructive as they had been towards her clan. As part of that she learned as much as she could and started a series of businesses, selling and moving as necessary to hide her age. Eventually she was the proud owner of a Spa in Coronado California.
Lyr liked to take vacations in the summer to visit her homelands, though she never wanted to live there again. One year whilemaking the crossing back to California she spotted a strange waterspout in the middle of the ocean. In the center of it she found a baby who had to have been less than a year old just floating in the waves and shrieking. She was confused how such a young child could be surviving out in the ocean. Also the wailing of the baby was quite annoying. She decided to go ahead and just eat the baby so neither of them would have to suffer any more. As expected, when she touched the baby with her claw the child grew silent and relaxed. However as the baby slipped under the waves Lyrseir noticed that it was still breathing without any issue. This was a special child and she changed her mind about eating it. She was unable to bear children any more but maybe this baby that had been placed right there for her to find could be just as much a child to her.
Lyrseir carefully brought the baby Kal home with her to the small place she kept in the resort city of Coronado, California. She was the one who named him Kaliyan, a name she had heard her mother whispering to one of her other eggs. One that had never had the chance to hatch.
She raised Kal like he was her own flesh and blood, though she was very overprotective of him. She kept him very close and has no qualms using her magic to keep him from being too upset. To her she felt like her main priority was her son and her business was secondary. She did have Kal join her in working at her Spa business, the Nautilus, but it was to keep him safe and teach him how to exist within the human world. Her heart ached every time he pushed away from her as she felt he might take a step out the door and never return. After all, she was the best equipped to help him control the swirling rage that could build up within him from time to time.
She did the best she could to help kal and even agreed to him joining a local boxing gym- anything to keep him in control and safe. As he got older though he began searching for his real origins and eventually Lyr had to tell the truth. She didn't know what he was or where he was really from, only that he was special and she had found him in the ocean.
When Kal's stormy outbursts grew to be too noticeable to the public she made the decision to move to the islands of Manta Carlos to protect him from from humanity and give him a place where he could safely take a few steps out from under the wings of his mother. She sold the Nautilus and that money plus her long term investments gave her the capital to open a new business on Manta Carlos. Tranquility would be a place where people could go to relax among the water gardens and also receive the many treatments that a luxury spa could provide.

Abilities:
Active:
- Human/Dragon Shape: This character has a human and dragon shape that they can shift into at will.
- Calm of Mind and Body- Lyr has an aura that makes people want to calm down and relax while within it. It can be resisted and doesn't force people to do anything they wouldn't want to do. She is immune to the effect, but the aura is always on around her. It extends out to about 100 ft from Lyr. Alternatively she can focus the aura though her touch to physically make one person or creature's muscles relax and target only them with the aura's usual effect. When focused like this only the person she is touching is affected but it is extremely strong on that one target. The contact must be maintained, otherwise her aura goes back to working like normal. Her aura is shorted out for two hours if she maintains this focus for more than 15 minutes at a time.
Passive:
- Decelerated Aging: This character lives ten times longer than a human, though they physically and mentally mature at the same rate as a human.
- Aquatic Adaption: This character can adapt to any large body of water. They are capable of breathing underwater and diving deep into the sea. They can handle the cold and pressure that goes with living under the sea.
- Supernatural Condition: This character has a great sense of smell along with durability and strength that greatly surpasses that of what a human could ever hope to achieve. In their human forms, they can punch through brick walls or take a steel beam to the body without being put out. In their dragon forms, they are even stronger with the ability to topple two-story homes and be have scales that resist against bludgeoning and stabbing damage by five times the normal rate.
Weaknesses:
- Creature of the Sea: This character is inclined toward the sea and going even two days without a visit to the ocean is enough to put them in a completely depressive state of mind.
