This felt silly. Rei already told Chloe he was hesitant about going to the Demonic Student Union. His exact words he could not remember, but he was sure he said he was hesitant or not going at all. That only made it weirder that he was wandering the halls of the school trying to find the club's room, or even better, Chloe. Chloe was the only one he wanted to speak to right now. She was an adult demon who seemed sane enough and had no blood relations with him. What he wanted to tell her, he could not say for sure. Maybe about how many humans filled the group and if he could ignore any that came in. He wanted to know what type of demons filled the club as well. A small part of Rei wanted to share his insecurities about being a demon and the bullying he was receiving at school as well, but that would be coming off too strong. Hearing about a kid complain about his school problems sounded below her.

Rei continued roaming the halls, trying to avoid the looks of some students when he passed by. Finding the room was made harder by how he took all the routes with the least amount of students, resulting in him getting lost a few times. Fortunately, it looked like he was getting closer. Though, that may have been because he spotted one of his nieces, who he agreed to refer to as a cousin due to their age difference. It was easy to tell who this one was, judging by her hair color and height. "Hey, Amber." Was that too casual? Should I have gotten closer first? What if she was busy? Whatever. She'll know where Chloe is... I think.

Amber was slowly walking down the school halls when she voice call out to her from behind and made her come to a sudden stop. She spun head around to look for the source of the voice, many eyes quickly scanning down the hall until all 6 of her eyes locked in on a familiar figure.

"Oh... Rei!" called out Amber, reorientating her entire body to face him. While he was technically her uncle, they both agreed to refer to him as her cousin as it was more comfortable relationship that way. Regardless, she was surprised to see him as she was unused to seeing him in these parts of the school... at least around this time of day. Nevertheless, she was happy to see him here. It has been awhile since she last spoke to him and though she had places to be, she wasn't in that much of hurry. The DSU meeting wasn't going to start for awhile and even if she was late it wouldn't have been too big of deal as there were always people running several minutes late to club. So in her mind, she had time speak with Rei for a little bit.

"How are you doing cousin? Did you need help with anything or did you wanted to say hi?" chimed Amber, shuffling the weight of her backpack as awaits Rei's reply.

It was nice seeing Amber. Dalia was too violent and eccentric for Rei, while Phaedra was both of those things with the addition of being overly sexual at times too. Thankfully, she seemed to tone herself down when around him, but he still felt nervous around her. Amber was the one out of the three he had the least experience with, aside from Ossa, who he only heard by name. She was smart, the daughter of Chloe, and acted the most pacifistic out of the three. Thinking about it in that way, she felt like the easiest to be around and relate to. It was a shame he did not see her much.

Almost finding himself lost in his thoughts, he snapped back to reality. "O-Oh, uh... I'm fine. I wanted to say hi, but, uh, I was looking for Chloe. Is she around? I wanted to talk her about some stuff. About the Demonic Student Union. I had some questions.

It was difficult for him to make eye contact with his cousin. Not just because she had six eyes, making it difficult for him to figure out where on her face he was supposed to look, but also because he kept glancing down at the floor nervously. Just saying the club's name made him mess around with the sleeves of his uniform's jacket.

"If she's busy, should I come back later? I don't want to interrupt. He also did not want to be seen as a club member when he was unsure if he wanted to join.

"Well... hello then~" chirped Amber, chuckling quietly before continue to answer the rest of Rei's question. "Well my is around. In fact she is actually going to be at the DSU meeting today but... I think she might be running a little late? She said that she might held up with something to do with her classes so it might take her awhile. I was actually heading to DSU meeting that they are having today so... its funny that mention that you have questions about it actually. "

Part of Amber the subject turn to the DSU, Rei wasn't first demon to bring up questions about the DSU. She sorts of get these questions a lot actually since a lot people know that she is the daughter of the club president. That and she was an demon herself so people who are curious feel more comfortable talking to her about these things. She never had problem with helping people with such questions though, she always felt that she was doing a good service to people whom often have a lot questions about themselves and demons in general.

"Well... you could also go check out the Demonic Student Union? There is a meeting today actually but... you seem like your on fence of attending these meetings. So... if you have questions then maybe you can ask me instead? I go to a lot of these meetings too so I could give you a good idea the things that go one during the meetings. For anything that I don't have answers for... well I am sure my mom has no problem stepping out from the club to answer then. When she shows up I mean. And don't worry if you think your holding me up, I have plenty of time before today's meeting actually starts." assured Amber as she stands attentively to Rei, ready to answer his questions. Assuming he was comfortable with bringing his questions up to her that is. He was sort of family to her and she would love to help him out.

Good, Chloe was going to be here today. He could catch her after the meeting was over if she still showed up late. At the moment, Amber sounded like his best bet to get answers to his questions. She already proved herself to be a smart person so far in the short time they spoke. Her being the daughter of the club's leader, and in his mind, the co-leader of the club, made it easier for him to open up to her as well.

"I don't know if I want to join. I like the idea, but the humans are my problem He wondered if Amber heard the rumors about his getting into arguments with humans and "harassing" them. "Chloe said that there are some humans in the club. I don't know why they're allowed in. Mom used to tell me stories about what humans would do to demons. She never told me what her experience with them was, but kept hinting at things I don't think I want to know. And one time, I met a human who said she would exorcise me. Uh, anyways, my point is, I think I should stay away from humans." He rubbed the back of his neck, unsure of how to describe his feelings without coming off as arrogant and foolish.

A part of him felt that what he said was too much. That Amber would be overwhelmed or annoyed. Some of the demons here had friendly relations with humans, with some implying that demons were worse than humans sometimes, like Lysander. That was something Rei struggled to understand, and after all the bullying he was received from not only humans but other species, he felt like the island was a bad place for him. All he wanted was to understand. Not all the humans on this island acted bad, but most of them seemed to have gone through a situation that made them... not-human. The idea of his mom lying to him made him feel sick, but it was not like everyone else was lying to him either. He was not that paranoid.

Amber had to pause in order to process what her cousin just said. She slowly nodded her as carefully considered her next couple of words. Amber was well aware that not everyone had the best experience with humans, her own mother included. In fact Amber recalled when she was younger asking her mom why it that non-demons were even allowed to join the DSU she always thought it a demon exclusive club. Of course when she asked this question it was because her though process was along the lines of the club having demon in the name so it seemed obvious that the club was ment for just demons in her... err... younger age? Regradless... slightly different circumstance but in the end the answer to Rei's question was the same answer as her own question so long ago.

"Oh... well... okey. Yes there are a few non-demons in the club... humans included." stated Amber, taking a deep breath as she does her best to offer an explanation; being sure to remember everything her mother has told her "The reason why there are non-humans is because the DSU is resource for those struggling with their demonic heritage, to find companionship in people whom they can feel related to, and to help foster understanding to those outside the demonic community to better understand demons in general. The DSU includes people who wish to learn more about us or support us. Some non-humans join because they have friend or family member that has some degree of demonic heritage. Some are just curious and wish to better understand with demons. The DSU isn't about helping just demons but the... err... whole community actually. And... we can't do that if we just... shut out those who legitimately want understand and sympathize with us. That just further proves the point of the organizations like the Citizens Against Evil we should be segregated or removed."

Amber then let out a sigh of relief, her little speech making her voice feel a little dry. She even massaged her throat a little to get to feel less try. Amber sort of wished that her mother was here next to her to make sure that got everything correct as it would bad on her part if misspoke about something. She might be young but she knew that inclusiveness was an important part in fostering common ground between not just demons and humans but... everyone living on this island.

"Oh... umm... also I think there is something about school clubs having to be open to everyone because of the school policy I think. So the DSU can't turn away people who wish to join the club if the club wanted to. The only exception would be those who are kicked out because they did something bad to their club mates... so that also plays part." she added after recalling that rule... or at least she thinks there is some real about. Once again she wished her mom was here just to confirm it for her. When people come to her for questions, this wasn't usually one of them.

Rei should have expected a lengthy answer from Amber. It took him a while to figure out a proper response. One that stayed true to his feelings, but did not make him seem like he came here for a fight. His face was naturally grumpy and his tone naturally aggressive, yet those were not his intentions. It was hard to get people to understand he did not want to attack them when they told him he sounded mean or looked angry.

"I... guess that makes sense." He tangled his hands together, trying to find some way to calm his nerves. That must have been the reason for his annoyed expression. He was always tense and nervous. How did he not realize this sooner? "Mom said humans are just naturally mean. That when they act nice, it's just a lie." He also worried that his mother would be angry at him for joining groups that mingled with humans and tried to defend them. Nowadays, after living on the island for a while, she seemed much more approving of humans, but he could still tell she was tense around them. It became difficult to decipher if she was being genuine or just acting to not start trouble. Just like him.

"I guess it'd be stupid if humans tried to make a club to make people understand their cultures, then lock everyone who wasn't them out. It's still scary. Hearing stories of horrible humans, then living with them. And you mentioned Citizens Against Evil. I've been hearing more about them lately. I, uh, decided to take self-defense classes. Just in case. I just wanted to find a good place to learn about demons. Books aren't that helpful all the same, and I keep meeting new relatives and I don't know what to do. He noticed himself rambling by now, cutting himself off short. It was Amber's turn to speak now. Continuing to dump his thoughts on her without a chance to speak would have been selfish. He must have said too much already.

Amber could tell that Rei wasn't 100% on the whole humans thing, coming off a just a little bit more aggressive. Amber really wanted to argue that not all humans were as bad as Rei claimed but she knew that she had to get her point in a calm manner as she didn't to start an argument any more than Rei did. Still, as she spoke, she couldn't help but raise her voice a little.

"That's not fair... humans are not all bad. There no just bad humans, bad demons, bad angels werewolves, gods, aliens, or... whatever! Just bad people. But there is also good people as well. I mean... just because we are both demons doesn't automatically mean that we should be lumped together with really bad demons like... err... Nasci for example. Don't you think its unfair to do the same with all humans?" argued Amber, looking visibly disgusted to even speak Nasci's name. Before she could give Rei a chance to make his point, Amber inhaled and let out sigh as she continues to maintain her calm.

"But... if the humans make you uncomfortable then... thats fine. I know I shouldn't expect you to change you mind about these things so soon. I mean... I know I was bit jumpy around mannequins for awhile after being... kidnapped by someone who sort of looks like one so I understand where your coming. So... perhaps instead of attending the DSU meetings you could just speak to my mom or even me in private about these things on your mind? You can even come to my home to discuss more about these things if you like! I know my mom also struggled with... well... the things that some humans did to her but at the same time she was raised up in loving home in all human family that treated as their daughter even when she started spouting horns and stuff. So... thats something to relate over... yeah." spoke Amber, leaving her proposal to Rei to consider. Amber didn't know the details and perhaps she didn't want to know them either... but it seemed only right to try best accommodate her cousin needs and questions as best as she could think of at the moment.

The rise in Amber's voice did not go unnoticed by Rei. His expression turned into a subtle grimace, but with his usual appearance, it might as well have been his normal face with clenched teeth. "I... I guess? It's hard to know who's a real human here and who's not. And there are weird hybrids or people who used to be human here too! Humans can act nice because if they were bad all the time, they wouldn't be here, but... Ugh... I don't know." How was he supposed to explain this to Amber? His head hurt just trying to verbalize his thoughts, most of which were abstract and only based on his feelings. Everything today was confusing. All of his complicated feelings were coming out, and expressing them with words to a new relative only made things harder. There were not many others he could speak to, however.

Mannequins are different from humans... but whatever, he thought to himself, mouthing the words to himself as he looked at the ground. "I... uh... I think talking to you or Chloe will be easier... if you're okay with that... I can tell you're annoyed. I don't really know who else to talk to. I mean... I'm trying to be nice to humans now." Only because he did not want to get in trouble again, but that had to count for something.

"Annoyed? Oh no no no no! I'm not... annoyed with you. I'm just... err-" Amber had to think on what it was she was feeling. She wasn't mad or annoyed with Rei in any way and didn't mean to come across that way as they spoke. She was just... excited? Passionate? She wasn't sure if those where the best words to describe what she was feeling but she couldn't think of a more appropriate words at the moment.

"Err... just feel really strongly about certain things. Sorry if I came off that way to you. I don't want to seem judgmental or anything." admitted Amber as she lets out sigh. She scratches awkwardly behind right horn. Her sharpened teeth press onto her lower lip as she thinks what it is she should say next and after a moment of consideration she figures it was just best to just move the conversation along.

"But yeah your right, there are plenty of people here who look human but are really not. Sometimes its just because of the way they look and sometimes it because of some magic like the glamour my sister wears." comments Amber with a shrug, she never really understood why Dalia seemed so obsessed with having a human form but at this point it was just something that she just accepted. Amber then gives her cousin an earnest smile.

"Well... your always welcomed over at my household any time. You can talk to me or mom at any time you like! Just know that we are always be there for you if you need someone to listen to you. I promise not to... err... make you feel judged or anything. I just want to help you if your okey with letting me."
