Love and hate... two different things... right?

The quiet morning air blew around the mountains. They were colder now, colder than usual because of the cold weather. The snow on the very tips had crept its way down to the base of the mountain range, covering the entire mountain with white.

Most people were asleep. It was quite early. Around 6:00 am, last time Terra checked. But she didn't notice the snow (though it was beginning to melt), or the fact that no one else was around. All she noticed were rocks.

Rocks. Yes. There were many, but, well, it was a mountain range so what did you expect? Weren't mountains made of rock? Terra didn't know, but she didn't really care either. Why care? There were rocks!

Her earth powers didn't only include rock, but they were by far her favorite. Plants were plants, they grew and moved on their own. Dirt was dirt, it didn't move, but... it didn't need to. Rocks were wonderful. They didn't move, didn't grow, wasn't the home for anything... it didn't matter if she destroyed them. Not that she tried to destroy them. She tried to not destroy them... but it always ended up happening.

When you lived by yourself, you didn't have much to do except use your powers. And even though she'd used them many times, she still didn't have an iron grip on them. More like the grip on a kid holding an ice cream cone. She was bound to drop it.

And for that reason Terra hated her powers. They wouldn't cooperate with her, wouldn't do what she wanted. She was fine with plants, but rocks and boulder were a different story. It was probably because rocks were bigger... but still... plants had energy, didn't they? Rocks didn't. Rocks were lumps of matter. Plants had... cells, or something. Terra really didn't know. She hadn't been to school in ages.

But when she leaned her hand forward gently, felt and saw the ring of glowing energy encircling her hand, she knew she could never resist this. The small pebble in front of her rose into the air, did a few loops as Terra gathered strength, and was doing a few quick spins around her when she dropped it.

I'm going to try a bigger one now. The small ones she didn't sweat. They were easy enough, even got boring. The stones were a tiny bit harder, not excruciatingly difficult though. It was the boulders. Stupid, stupid boulders. She stood shakily on top of a large one, it held her slender body well, and melded her energy with the rocks. Wait, rocks don't have energy. Well, whatever. She melded her, um, self with the rock. She forgot she was standing on the rock and felt like she was floating.

And then she began to fly, up, up, up. But she wasn't flying. It was the rock, her energy carrying the rock underneath her. She felt calm for a few minutes, and then the rock dropped, and she was falling.

((OoC: Wow... got a little carried away there. ))

It was early morning Akiras favorite time of day. Since no one else was awake he had decided to take a walk and explore the school. After quite some time of walking he entered the mountain and saw a girl using her powers on rocks.
"Interesting..." he thought to himself and observed her for a while his hands in his black jean pockets the wind blowing his long brown hair and loose white button up shirt blowing in the wind.
Soon the girl had a rock in the air flying. His face filled with shock and he took his hands out of his pockets.
"Oh no...shes going to spin out!" he thought. Meaning she was going to loose control of her powers. And she did. Soon the rock was plummeting back to earth.
"I have to do something..." he thought and quickly teleported onto the rock grabbing the girl and teleporting back to earth away from the rock only seconds before it collided with the ground shattering the rock and creating a large hole. He silently set the girl down his hands still on her shoulders incase she was having trouble standing.
"Are you okay?" he asked his voice filled with concern.

Terra laughed as she was falling, laughed as someone caught her, and laughed as that person asked if she was okay. She was crazy, she knew, and she needed to SHUT UP.

She stopped laughing abruptly when he set her down. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine..." she said, trying to act normal. She fluffed her limp hair a little too. Did normal people do that? She'd seen it on TV, she thought...

"So, um..." she racked her brain for other normal things, but all she could think of was yelling 'Happy New Year!' That wasn't normal... was it? "Uh... I like, your, um... powers. Very convienent."

Akira let go of her shoulders thinking that she was alright to stand by herself now.
My isnt she the strange one...he thought with a smile
"Well yes I suppose you could say my powers are convient." he said with a chuckle.
"What are you doing out here so early? Other than getting into trouble." he said still smiling.

Terra's face lit up. "I love being outside. I can't live inside. It's just... so... inside-ish. I've lived outside almost my entire life." She laughed, her fingers abandoning her hair and making large hand gestures as she talked.

"Why are you outside?" Seemed like the only normal-ish thing to say back.

Akira smiled
Well she's certainly full of spunk. he thought
"So you've never had a home?" he asked feeling bad for her but cheering up when he realized that she really didnt want one.
"I'm outside because I like the morning and no one is ever up early so I decided to go for a walk." he said smiling charmingly at her.
"Do you practice by yourself out here every morning?"

"I think I might have had a home, I don't remember." Long, long ago...

"Nope... this is the first time. And I still can't get it! I've been practicing forever, even before I came here. It's really annoying!"
