Bouncing like a child, Leticia inhaled the rich scent of chocolate. It hung in the air like a great fog, making her crave it all the more. Waiting patiently was not her forte, however. She managed to stand still for all of five seconds before the first fidgets escaped her. The line was moving so slowly. Honestly, how long did it take people to grab a cup and go? Well, she would just have to say something about this! "This is boring. Why won't this line move faster?" Jostling the people in front of them a bit, she shot a pout back at the disgruntled looks she recieved. It wasn't her fault that these people took so darn long.

The line moved a fraction of an inch, and Letty bounced a bit faster, now. She could see the little table where people were pouring liquid into cups. "I can see it! I want it now!"

Yuki, who was mature for her age, waited in line patiently. And quietly, too. It wasn't like she didn't crave the hot chocolate- she did. But she has just gone through so many things in her 16 years of life to be impatient about hot chocolate. She, though, could practically see Letty start to bubble with impatience. Yuki watched until she knew that the small girl couldn't hold it in any longer.

"This is boring. Why won't this line move faster?"

When people looked back at them, she gave them apologetical looks. She wasn't even sure if Letty was younger than her or not, but the girl sure acted like she was. Yuki wasn't really bothered by it- again, she was really mature for her age. Though for other people's sake, she said "Calm down, Letty" after the girl started speaking again, not unkindly.

Huffing indignantly, Leticia couldn't understand how her companion could be so patient. Calm down! I am calm! "YOU CALM DOWN." Grabbing at Yuki's hand, Letty bounced with an inner reserve of energy, moving steadily faster as they got closer and closer to the drinks. She felt like she could expire on the spot, to see all the cocoa in their stupid little pitchers, waiting in their stupid little lines. The attendants of the line had begun to eye her nervously, as if they could sense that she wanted to snatch a whole pitcher out of their grubby little hands.

Time seemed to stand still, as she was finally handed a cup. Nearly crushing the cup in her little fingers, Leticia stared down at it intensely, determined to not spill any of it. "I got some! I got it! It's here! Look!"

Yuki knew it would be wrong to laugh as the attendants looked at Letty nervously, so she suppressed it to a smile. This girl was truly one of a kind- in the good way or not, she wasn't exactly sure yet.

Yuki took her own cup of hot chocolate from an attendant, saying a quiet "thank you". She then glanced at Letty who was gripping her own cup so tightly. "Be careful with that now." She glanced around at the tables. A small one was empty, near one of the windows. "Let's go sit over there," she told Letty, nodding at the table as she carefully held her warm cup.

Proudly toting her cup to the table that was pointed out, Leticia lovingly set it down, quickly sliding into a seat behind it. Blowing gently on it, she played with the steam that rose in the air, swirling her finger around and dispersing it. She wanted to drink it now. Seizing her cup, she grasped it firmly and brought it up to her mouth. Quickly taking a large gulp that downed half the cup, her eyes watered as the heat hit her mouth.

Oh my goodness. It was like Satan had poured the depths of hell down her throat. Her mouth opened in a silent whine, and she clawed at her throat, trying to dispel the burn. She was sure her tongue was stripped of tastebuds, and the flesh in her mouth pulsed angrily. Her hands fisted around the hem of her shirt, and she tried very hard not to cry loudly. "IT HURTS. WHY DOES IT HURT?" Pushing the cup away from her, Letty frowned miserably at the offending liquid. How dare it burn her so fiercely? "I don't like it anymore."

Yuki opened her mouth, about to say something to prevent Letty from drinking the hot chocolate right away but it was too late. She cringed as Letty felt the burn. "Oh my- are you alright?" No, of course she wasn't. Yuki wanted to reach over and touch Letty's throat to cool it, but she didn't want to risk freezing the girl.

"You need to blow on it and sip it little by little," Yuki told the girl. She wondered if Letty has never drank hot chocolate before or if she was just being rash. "Here," Yuki said, leaning over and tapping the girl's cup, cooling the liquid in it down a little. "It's cooler now. You can drink it right away."

Tears began to well up in her eyes. Leticia loved being dramatic. Drama was her life energy; especially if she got to be dramatic around a sympathetic ear. "It hurts" She knew she had to blow on it a little bit, but that just took so long to do. Who had time to sit and blow on a puddle of chocolate, anyway? Certainly not her. She watched suspiciously as her companion touched her cup and told her that it was drinkable. Squinting back and forth at the offending cup and her new friend, Letty slowly shook her head, dragging her wrist across her face to wipe off the tears.

"I don't trust it. What if it hurts again?" She got the idea to dip her finger in it, and decided that was the best course of action. She had burned her fingers plenty of times, and it certainly would hurt less than burning her tongue. Shoving a finger into the cup, she was pleased to find that it was lukewarm and completely safe. Satisfied, she curled her fingers into the cup and took a small sip. The raw flesh on her tongue reacted badly to even the small amount of heat in her mouth, and Letty frowned and put the cup back down, looking around for some sort of colder drink. Of course, no one had anything cold in the middle of winter. Making an unhappy noise, Letty sat and pouted, trying to ignore the cup. "I don't like hot chocolate anymore."
