"Good good!" cheerfully cheeped Tengu, happy with all that is going on Jackal at least had a nice meal to enjoy "Eat up as much as you want! Whatever you don't eat we can save for later."

There was then a soft purr by Tengu's feet as Glumdrop sat down and stared up at their owner. Tengu, looked down and smiled her her feline friend and pats them on the head. Normally Glumdrop would just down this just to get food but having just feed the cats, it made Tengu wonder if the cats were picking on how worried they were for Jackal whom was in turn worried for Dalia. It was sort of cute to see the cats being so caring, Prissle-Toes showing affection for Jackal and Glumdrop looking concerned.

"Awww... Glumdrop. Don't be worried, I am sure everything in the end will work out in the end." cooed Tengu, going so far as to give him a scratch under their chin before Glumdrop decides to wander off. Maybe it was just the cat being a cat but she liked to think she helped reassure Glumdrop that lil worry-wort.

"Who knows whom is actually responsible but... everything will work out in the end right?" inquired Tengu, directing her question to Jackal as she erects her posture. "With so many people looking out for her, it means that people still care even if they don't really feel it."

Jackal played a balancing act, eating with one hand while absentmindedly scratching the cat in his lap with the other.

"Well, they don't," Jackal admitted, popping a meatball into his mouth. "Not really. That's the thing. Right now I don't care. If she died I'd probably feel about as upset I do when anyone dies. The people who are helping are mostly helping out of obligation or spite. Like... one of the Drakenhardts, Orsick? He was a friend of hers. And he's acting that way out of spite, because he's a dragon, and dragon's hate having things taken from them."

Which was kind of funny, Jackal though, but who was he to judge?

"Well... I guess that is roundabout way of trying to care. Good to know that there is small, spiteful dragon out there doing what he can to help her." Tengu pondered on that last name Drakenhardt for a moment. It was familar sounding name and it too her a few moments before it just clicked in her brain why that was.

"OH! The Drakenhardts are that really big dragon family living on the island yes? I'm pretty sure I delivered a few packages at their big old manor!" blurted out Tengu, letting out a chuckle before she remembered another thing about the Drakenharts "Oh wait! You where seeing one of them for awhile right?"

Jackal nodded at her recollection of the Drakenhardts.

"That's where I go for Sunday dinners, yeah," he confirmed. "I was dating Ralf, but we broke up nicely, and his family more or less adopted me, so here I am. Closer to them than anyone, basically."

They were, in a lot of ways, his family. It wasn't like he'd had a real family or knew what it was like, but this was the closest he'd ever felt to it. He went to family dinners. That counted, right?"

"Thanks for the food," he said. "I'll let you know if I'm going to be out and about more, but for the time being it'll just be... what it always is, only with me doing a bit more snooping around."

"Awww, thats sweet of them to still have you over like you are family still. I guess you sort of stick out at the family dinners with that blue hair of yours~" cheekily pointed out Tengu, brandishing a wide smile. "And your welcome for the food. Just like at the Drakenhardts your always welcome to share a meal with me and the kitties!"

Tengu then nods her head in response for being thanked for her the meal she made. Jackal was more than just a roommate, he was a friend and friends should try to take care of one another. Especially in difficult times like what is going on now.

"Snooping around... heh... I like it. Like being a detective! Just need to put you into one of those hats and trench coat so that you can look the part. Well I hope that you will somehow come up with lead. I'll make sure to clean things up so that you have one less thing to worry about okey?" chimed in Tengu, already strutting over to clean up the kitchen area.

"They've made the you should be over with the ice dragons! joke more than once," Jackal said with a sigh. "Considered dyeing my hair, even. Going red head to blend in."

It hadn't stuck. He still bounced the idea around every so often, but it felt too much like forcing himself to fit in.

"You're a pal, Tengu," Jackal said when she offered to clean up, making a point of cleaning up his own mess right then anyway. "But I shouldn't need too much. Can't just go running around the island at all hours."

Even he needed to sleep sometimes.
