Tomomi snickered at the woman's reaction, still in her cat mode, and sneaked back to Eli. He asked her a question and Tomomi turned back into her human form, with a contemplating expression on her face.
"It's none of those things, more like the feeling, and surroundings. Ya see, that woman had kinda the smell that she'd be easy to prank, plus there was a branch right above her. I mean, c'mon, at least try to look like you got your guard up."
Tomomi grinned and looked at the surroundings again. No one was looking their way, in other words she hadn't been busted.
"I won't prank 'em, so just pick someone out from this crowd ya think would be prankable."

"Well, by that standard, I guess I'm prankable, too?" While he wasn't sure about the smell, he was just as oblivious to his surroundings as that woman was. The appearance of Tomomi only supported this thought.

At least no one realized it was the cat's fault. Eli looked at the people around them once more. They weren't actually going to get pranked, so there was no harm in pointing out people, right?

"Hmm" There was a bit he had to look at. Their positions, traveling speeds, and accessibility. The tree branch was suitable for the woman earlier, but she wasn't moving. Being a cat, Tomomi would have easy access to most spots, but Eli himself would struggle.

"Ah! There's one." Eli pointed. A man was walking his dog. Just a regular scene in any park. But the dog was HUGE. "Throw a Cat or a food scrap on a string and the dog would chase it, taking him along for the ride."

"My dude, nearly anyone is prankable at some point. Ya just have a day today when you're prankable."
Tomomi tapped Eli's shoulder consolingly.
Tomomi waited for Eli to choose, chilling against the tree. She had noticed the man and the dog ages ago but was pretty impressed when Eli noticed them too.
"Ya impress me Eli. Ya really got some pranker potential in ya, buddy."
Tomomi nudged him a bit and now started to scan the surroundings herself.
"But that's too risky, it can cause some casualties. Ya gotta choose someone solitary, with minimal damage if you're in a public place. Like that."
Tomomi pointed at a boy flying a kite on the grass, looking really focused.
"The kite's tied to his wrist so it won't fly off if ya make 'im stumble an' fall."

As if that wasn't freaky. Today, I could have been a possible target. That thought stayed in his mind for a moment. At least she makes sure no-one actually does get hurt. He didn't realize just how much thought she put into this. I wonder what she's like playing chess?

The Boy with a kite seemed way too focused on his kite, almost as if he was holding it up by sheer force of will, which may or may not actually be the case. "How long have you been pranking people?"

Tomomi leaned back and got a contemplative expression on her face.
"I've been prankin' since I was just a tiny kitten in the backalleys, messin' with my siblings. I stopped for a whilewhen I got adopted by my owners but after I realized they adored me I began again, doin' just harmless cat pranks. When I turned human I could challenge the big leagues an' I never stopped."
Tomomi grinned at Eli but it changed to a small smile.
"I bet ya think I'm childish, right? Just a brat pullin' pranks for fun. 'S okay, if ya think like that. It is partly that too."
Tomomi turned to look at the kite kid again.
"But it's not just that I'm a brat. Ya know, that woman I just pranked? She could've been an angel for all I know, or a god. And that kid flyin' a kite could be a fucking anti-Jesus. But I could prank 'em anyway, a weak alley cat like me. Anyone, even a god, can be pranked, except if they can, like, see the future. Then I would have to get clever. But pranking is somethin' I use to even the ground, ya know. Bring the all mighty back to the ground, because we are all from there. We all got some weakness, some human in us. I just want to remind others of that. That's all."
Tomo watched the kid fall down by himself and scoffed when purple blood flowed from his palm.

She seemed serious about pranking, especially with her logical argument. Eli definitely respected that. There were definitely some people that seemed to use their background as leverage over others. If Tomomi wanted to harmlessly remind an overconfident Deity of their own weaknesses, who was he to judge?

"Were you originally a cat? I mean, you say it like just one day you woke up human." Eli wondered. Was it common for people and animals to wake up different? Maybe he was originally a hermit crab.

He was surprised at the Kite Kid ((OOC: Yeah alliterative names are the best)) falling down. That had to happen sometime, with the way he was running. His eyes widened when he saw the blood, what was that? Definitely not completely human. "Woah."

Eli didn't mock Tomomi for her reasons, or even make a comment. Tomomi appreciated that, it showed that Eli, on some level, got what Tomomi had been trying to say. It felt good, to be understood.
Eli asked Tomomi a question and she nodded, still looking at the kite kid. Or more his kite now.
"I'm a bakeneko and I used to be a plain, ordinary cat. But I was special cat with magic and when that kinda cat turns 7, 10 or 13 they become bakeneko. I became bakeneko when I turned 7. Just one day poof! Woke up as a 7-year-old kid."
Tomomi sighed and glanced at her right hand, void of pinky and ring finger. Then she watched as the kite kid's mom came to tend the boy's hand.
"I wonder what that boy is. Is he wearin' a glamour?"

"Bake...Neko?" He heard of Nekos, being half-Cat people, but BakeNeko? did that just mean they can be a cat one moment, a person the next? "Must've been a strange experience." He was more visibly relaxed now, feeling like he understood this strange character in front of him.

He heard her sigh, and automatically followed her gaze, and was surprised to see the lack of a couple of fingers. I wonder what the story is behind it. It had to be related to her transformation in some way.

Glamour? He heard of those. Apparently, they came as charms or tattoos. "I don't think so. He doesn't look like he might wear jewelry. Might just be a hybrid, or have natural abilities."

Tomomi pfft'd at Eli's comment on her story.
"Yeah, strange experience is a huge understatement. My owner, this little girl, thought I was her imaginary friend come to life."
Tomomi reminisced the moment, the joy and surprise on the little girl's face. She was 17 now. Time flew past so fast.
"Even though I should only be 14 I feel ancient..."

Tomomi observed the kite kid and true, there weren't any jewellery on him.
"Glamours can be spells too though. We wouldn't be able to see that."
Tomomi turned to look at Eli. He looked very normal.
"I told ya I was a cat. Can ya tell me what you are, of if you're anything."

He just stared at her as she laughed at his comment. "I wonder how that must have gone when her parents found out." Maybe she's treated as a little sister now?

She was right, they could be spells too, but from what Eli knew, they needed a source of some sort, so it had to be the kids own talent. "No, we wouldn't but we would see its origin, at least."

Eli's face grew very serious. What exactly was he? Maybe a human? He looked human, and he didn't seem to have any strange abilities or anything like that. Maybe he was a normie that appeared by accident? "I think I'm human, at least."
