Felix wasn't alone.
Someone was near him, watching. He wasn't sure what, or whether it was threatening or playful.
He needed to find out.
"Come out." he called. "I know you're there...whoever you are."

A pair of blood red eyes were indeed watching the young man's every move. The smirk that had played on the half vampire's lips had not disapeared. She, was feeling playful, it had been a long time since she had had the joy of toying with an unsuspecting human.

She was in the shadows of the forest, not too far from his position, the woman was leaning against the tree behind her, feigning nonchalance. A glittering of fangs showed her smile had widened when she heard the young man's question.

"What do we have here...?" She said aloud in a sing song voice, as if she was talking to a baby. "An ickle little human boy."

Her laugh resounded through the trees, joyless and cold. She actually loved to try and instigate fear in lower beings.

"You do know that few beings made out of good ever lurk in these shadows? I am amongst the nicest there is living here."

Of course, she wasn't about to tell the youngling that she actually liked to torture and scare children out of their wits.

"You should consider running out of the forest before I decide to make a meal out of you."

((OOC: I just have to join. I haven't rped with Kitty in... forever it seems...))

Caitlin walked through the forest, and heard a male voice call out. It was followed by a feminine voice- one cruel and cold, but smooth as well. Caitlin rolled her eyes and stepped into the clearing where the vampire was.

"If you were as cruel as you say you are, I would most likely have been killed by now. And despite this, you remain hidden, too afraid to come out. You're afraid of being defeated in your own element."
Felix had no time to focus on the girl behind him. He couldn't let whoever was hiding claim this kind of personal victory.

The woman laughed at his grenuineness.

"Oh, come on... You're not that stupid you know, or well, maybe you are." she said with a smirk clearly in her voice.

He was standing in the middle of a ray of light, the only opening in the forest ceiling for miles around.

"I love taunting people, but you are not the kind I am searching for."

She approached, not letting a twig snap under the pressure of her body. She was good at doing that.

The light was harsher now, but she didn't seem to care. It created strange shadows around her as she came near. She could see his flashy blue robes perfectly.

"You know what, you shouldn't wear these kind of robes in the middle of a forest where death and maulings happen everyday." She said examining him. "You are way too much of a target with a sign saying 'Look I'm here! Come and Kill me!'. "

She snorted in amusement, With a color like that, one can never stay hidden. Her smile widened, showing a pair of pearly white fangs. She wasn't one to fear being a vampire, she embraced it and took advantage of it as she had done for the past nearly four thousand years.

"There are records of people disapearing and getting killed, some recent, others older. Which reminds me I haven't participated in one large human hunt in a while, I should not get behind in shedule."

It wasn't really mindless chatter, she wanted him to be distracted by how she looked by how she seemed innocent or inconcuspscious to him so she could dull his sense of danger. It was allways useful to do that when you were hungry.

She didn't really pay attention to the young girl that had entered the clearing, but she now knew who she was and nearly groaned, she seemed to appear where she could crash any party of her's.

"Well, some more company, what a pleasant surprise... Come closer Caitlin, I won't torture you." She said. "This time." she added as an afterthought.

Her last sentence had been said with a smile adressed to the little girl so she wouldn't think she was really serious about torturing her. She kept an ear out for the young man.

Caitlin stepped closer with a slightly amused look on her face. She did't say anything. For once, she decided to be wise and not try to stop the vampire. She had had several incidences with her, and was now nearly family. (or did that last part reset when the boards did?)

"If I'm such a target, then why am I not dead?"
Simple and obvious - the way Felix enjoyed explaining things.
"Besides, what connection do you have with this girl?"
The girl - Caitlin, the voice had called her - was actually smiling.
"What are you so happy about? It's one thing not to be afraid of these people, but it's another altogether to laugh at them."

"Why don't I kill you? Because I am well fed for the moment and have no need except for fun to kill someone like you. I probably would get sick if I ate more at the moment."

She shrugged and took out a long curved dagger from her belt, playing with it.

"Don't you like to play with people sometimes, just for the fun of seing their reaction?" She said. "That's what I like to do on weekends."

"Her?" she said pointing to the girl in question. "That's one of my adoptive daughters, no wonder she laughs at me. But she knows better than to say anything in that sort of situation with me. She learned her lesson well."

"Didn't you?" she said going over to pinch her cheek as an old aunt would, but her gaze was asking her to play along to fool the boy stupid enough to go in a forest while not part of it. "I'm sure you won't do anything stupid like last time I had to poke you."

She laughed a bit amused, or acting amused depending on the point of view. The woman walked around the boy, circling him until she was on the other side of Caitlin.

"Most young people run away when I pull my evil act, though most of those times its not an act."

"So, when isn't it an act?"
Felix doubted that she was dangerous. He believed that actions spoke louder than words, and he hadn't seen much in the way of action from her yet.
"On that note, how do I know this isn't an act right now? A trick to make me look like an idiot, or a coward?"
