"It would be fun. Now you have me thinking about playing a VR game. I want to play, but, honestly, I'm very stingy. Parting with my money is like parting with my l—Mmm, no, I can replace that quickly."

He let out a laugh. There was a weird feeling in his chest. Somehow, losing his limbs was now a much more preferable option to losing his money, and it wasn't even unreasonable. That was definitely not human.

"Oh!" he said, perking up suddenly. "Are you still on your break?"

"You don't need to finish that sentence, I know well what you mean.", Serena laughed as well. Even if she didn't read his mind or something like that, she had a hunch of what went through his mind for a moment: he was a frequent donor, Serena herself would be up to the task too. After all, she could offer so much to help people...

Speaking of helping, his question brought her to check the time on her phone. "I still have three minutes and forty-two seconds to spare. But I suppose this is where I should be going.", she asked for the bill and covered the expenses as promised, before standing up and bowing to Kon, "Whenever you need a friendly ear, let me know, Kon."

Guilt panged in his chest at not paying when, as far as he knew, he was in a better financial situation than Serena. Working two full-time jobs and sharing bills with a roommate was often a sign of someone who was struggling, but for Konpeitō, it was simply so he could be rebuild the wealth he was born into.

"I'll be sure to remember that. Speaking with you was refreshing." Surprisingly so. "Thank you. You have a nice rest of the day. Like Serena, he stood up and bowed back before heading off.
