Konpeitō wanted to ask Serena if she bet he couldn't take on her species, but not only would that be disrespectful, he had passed that phase. When he first got his species-shifting powers, he loved going through every species he could think of. The fun of that had quickly worn off.

Also, Konpeitō mostly wanted to ask what made him seem bisexual. After a somber nod to acknowledge Serena's late mother, he kept with the flow of the conversation. "I wish I could control that and open myself up to more options. I tried to see if I swung both ways, but that left me... It was uncomfortable. I'm firmly into men with a specific disposition." He let out a little laugh. "This is more proof that you'll find an S.O. before me."

"Although the world surely has changed... In Narrow Reality, I mean. Imagine my surprise, when I opened a magazine once in decades and found out that same gender couples were a thing! Also learned about a singer's scandal because they were supposedly caught in a crash while driving under influence, but that's a whole different story.", Serena grave a brief chuckle at that, "Anyhow, I'm glad the world has changed. Back in Athens I had a crush on a girl who was the same age as I back then."

"Aah, I can't imagine how that is at all. The LGBT community was already known when I was made and has been making strides in being accepted since. That's not to say everything is perfect. Things are still... limited in Japan. So much so I'm not sure if I'd like to go back, even if I could." Konpeitō's nose automatically wrinkled at all the research he did to stay accurate to how his human persona would handle being transgender. It was kind of awful, to say the least.

"I hear all about how people wish they were born in the past. I can't relate. If anything, I'd like to be born in the future in the hope that things are better."

"If I am to guess... It's only a matter of time until its no longer a taboo anywhere. After all, it's still something that nature doesn't fight against, but doesn't necessarily encourage either. Same gender couples do exist in nature, with their adopted children, don't they?", even if that was a question, Serena asserted herself of it being an answer, "Hm... Past, future, I live in the now while remembering the past, longing for a good future."

"Oooh, I'm sure it'll be a taboo in many places for a long time. Racism hasn't become a complete taboo yet, so why would homophobia, transphobia, and other types of bigotry? And don't get me started on the bigotry and hatred in the LGBT community. Granted, it's hard to be openly bigoted nowadays, but that depends on where you live. If I went to Japan now using my human form, my dark skin and vitiligo would make me an other. I've already had several people here, Japanese and not, be surprised I'm Japanese despite my accent and features."

Okay. He rambled. A lot. Letting out an awkward laugh, he rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged. "Ah, but time moves a lot slower for me. I imagine things go by quicker when you have more experience, huh?"

Serena kept her eyes on him, and ears keen at his frustration on how the taboo still lingered and the chaos persisted in certain places. And following his awkward laugh, Kon has made a statement that really hit it spot-on. "Touché. Still feels like yesterday that I left Athens to venture the world. And every day seems to pass by faster and faster.", from her perspective, it was quite a scary thing.

"I know the grass is always greener on the other side, but I want that. I've only been alive for six years. Everything goes so... slowly. At the youngest, I'm nineteen. At the oldest, I'm 25. It doesn't help that I can't sleep. Compared to other adults, I feel like I'm moving through life at a snail's pace."

He ran a hand through his hair and sighed with an airy laugh. "I swear I'm not an otaku, I just lived with one, but I once wanted to put myself into something like Dragon Ball's Hyperbolic Time Chamber so my physical age would match my mental age. Preferably with a virtual reality system so I'm not doing... you know, nothing for a dozen years."

"No matter how we paint it, time going fast or slow is a disturbing thought. And I can't imagine having no sleep either.", although Serena should perhaps better phrased this, since as a nurse there are times she may not rest. Kon being not an Otaku was something a bit hard to believe, specially when he brought those references she was vaguely unfamiliar with except for the mention of "Dragon Ball". "Now that you mention Virtual Reality... I'm thinking of venturing in one of Sherlock Holmes' books through it. Haven't thought until now."

He wanted to argue against that. He desperately did. But then he failed to find an argument. Moving slowly through life was awful. Going to sleep and waking up to see most of your friends aged ten years was worse.

Okay, maybe it wasn't that bad for Serena or most long-lived immortals, but it still must have felt terrifyingly quick. He's heard of adults telling kids that they grow up so fast. What must an immortal feel towards aging mortals?

"That's an expensive method of experiencing the story," he replied with a laugh. "The private sessions are a lot, and I don't know if they adapted one of the books into a game for anyone to play. It's a bit hard for me to imagine there aren't other murder mysteries out there in the universe to adapt or be inspired by. Although, they did do a public murder mystery game. I think before I came here?"

"Hah, I know, I know. But I heard stories of him and makes me ashamed to say that I couldn't read any of the books so far. So, given the possibility of experiencing the story from a whole new perspective.", Serena gave a giggle, "I sure heard games are an interesting way to play around too, but... I want a much better approximation than that."
