It was time to head home o'clock for Marric. He'd spent the day rehearsing with his bandmates. He went for a swim down at the ocean. Then hit up some of the local seafood markets to make himself a hearty meal after a day's work. A fairly typical day for him, all in all. Now he was headed home, maybe he'd see what Tuesday was up to later on.

Everything was so routine, he made it to his house. He set down his groceries, put Sedna on her stand, and fed his various fish. He had some music playing as he was about to put his groceries away when he heard a knock at his door. He decided to see how persistent it got to determine what he'd do. Most people he knew tended to message him with a warning when they were coming over. If it was important they'd get more intense.

Marric changed his mind after a few moments of contemplation. The sea dragon sighed and went to open the door. His expression went from bored to full on excitement.

"Illu!" he went to just scoop her into his arms. A natural reaction.

Since she had first returned to Manta Carlos, it was only now that she felt like she had a moment to breathe. Even after her mission in the sea was over, there were several days of assisting her new clan, getting them all registered, getting all the necessary modifications to the charm in her back, explaining all these charms and stuff to 50-some other merfolk...

She was tired. Satisfied with how things had gone, but tired. She knew exactly what she wanted to do when she finally had a moment of privacy: she wanted to see Marric. She wanted to smoosh his face, fake-slap him on the shoulder, tease the hell out of him...and also kiss him. She wanted to be with one of the few people she felt like she could be her natural self around.

So his house is the first place she went. She knocked on the door. No answer. She rested her large, ornate spear against the side of Marric's house and knocked again. If he wasn't here, she would...she would...do what? Be mildly annoyed and sit waiting until he did show up, probably. But then the door did open.

Illu seemed surprised when Marric suddenly grabbed her and pulled her up, but it certainly wasn't a bad thing either. She just wrapped her arms around him.

"Two years--felt like one hundred," she mumbled against his shoulder as she squeezed him tight. Then she rose her head and pressed both her hands against his face.

"Look, no headache, yes?" She said with a big smile on her face. Bigger than she normally allowed herself to show.

"I'd say you have no idea how much I missed you, but clearly we're on the same page," he laughed, then he flinched as she moved to touch his face. He was waiting for the headache to kick in, but nothing.

"Not even a tiny one. I guess that means things worked out then huh? " this was great, almost better than the news that she was back. He gave her a kiss and started to carry her back into his home. He almost immediately stopped and set her down to grab her spear. He couldn't just leave that outside.

Illu kissed him back. It felt nice to finally kiss him, knowing it wasn't going to cause pain this time--and it never would again.

"Don't worry, I will still give you headaches by being pain in the ass," she said teasingly as he lowered her back to the ground and grabbed her spear for her. She smoothed out the plain white dress she was wearing--something borrowed until she could get her clothing from a box kept in Marric's closet. It didn't suit her. It was just too plain.

"Very successful," she said as she followed him inside. "Found Dulla-di Clan. Curse broken. Am princess again. Get spear back. Sea witch..." she scowled a bit. "I wanted to kill sea witch, but they said no. Let Scouts deal with her instead."

It was kind of surreal, and Marric wasn't making much effort to hide the fact that he was more than happy she was here. The stupid grin on his face was a testament to that. He was trying to think of more things to say.

"Well, you got your curse broken, you're free of her bullshit. And there are worse things than death," he shrugged. "A lot's been happening here since you left. Band went on hiatus, but we're back now. Roldan's getting married again. I started seeing someone else, but it's like open so it should be alright. Unless it's not alright with you."

Illu couldn't help but keep a big grin on her face as well. It was nice to be with the one few people she felt comfortable letting her hair down to, after two years of playing the role of the stoic princess she was expected to be.

"Good for band. Happy for Roldan." She nodded as she listened to Marric. When he got to the new person he was dating, she leaned toward him with a playful smirk.

"Of course it's alright. This is type of relationship we have."

Illu took a step closer to Marric and pressed her side against his.

"You have picture? I would like to see."
