Varvara usually spent her days near the lake, in the wild woods where there were no trails or other people. There she could sing without being afraid of trancing anyone or walk without shoes. But this park was nice, Varvara forgot it much too often. Varvara was wearing black silk top with longer sleeves and white silk pants, and they both fluttered wonderfully as she moved. Even though Varvara had to wear sandals, which felt uncomfortable because she never used them, she was happily skipping along the trail. There were so many people and Varvara loved it. She smiled at everyone and some people smiled back. Some just stared at her. But Varvara didn't care. She had something new and she was so happy.
There were players everywhere, all playing different kinds of instruments. Varvara wanted to sing, wanted to sing so badly, but hummed instead. It didn't spoil her mood that she couldn't sing, not at all.
Suddenly Varvara heard a familiar sound, a low strum among the different melodies. Diana!
Varvara quickened her pace, her long braid swaying behind her. Then she saw Bobby, playing Diana. Varvara laughed and skipped to them. She wanted to hug him but remembered that for some reason it wasn't always appropriate. So she patted his head once, grinning like a madman.
"Bobby! This is simply marvelous, wonderous, so fucking cool, or so I heard that boy over there say."
Varvara pointed where a group of preteens sat in a group. She looked at them for a second and then turned back to Bobby.
"Is that some kind of bonding ritual as well?"
