Lance walked up to the edge of the little stream that flowed down over some rocks and into a pond. He loved just listening to the sound of water, even though it made him think of his mother.

"I thought when I came here, things would be different. So far, I'm still alone..." he took his shoe off and put his foot in the water. Moving the water around he just took his other shoe off and placed it in. he leaned back and layed his head ground in the grass.

"This place sure is quiet..."

Jen looked down at the little stream, then at the boy. She groaneed inwardly... She was getting no where with the search of her mother, and the demon hunter boy had spooked her. She kicked the tree she was behind, and it rustled a bit. She slid back into the dense forest she was in, trying not to kick anything else...

Lance heard something up the stream a bit, a bush moving or something. He slid his shoes back on and stood up. "What the?" He walked very slowly up the stream. Snapping his fingers a little ball of fire burst into flame. It hoovered lightly above his palm. Let's see if whatever that was is flamable... He reared back and chunked the fireball towards the noise. He watched it soar in the air, and watched it fall towards its destination. "Sweet!"

Jen felt a burning pain touch her hand, and she yelled in pain. Water flowed up from the stream and quickly covered the red, burning hand. It's not that bad, but it still hurts... If they missed, those people could have burned the entire forest with all the dead leaves around. I wouldn't be able to stop it untill the forest was half gone! Not to mention maybe burning my hand through!!! She lifted up her hand. The burning was gone, but she wouldn't be able to pick up something hot on her right and for a week or two. She sighed and stood up, tryig to walk away peace fully...

He saw something stand up and started running towards it. He stared at it for a second and realized it was a girl. "Oh, I'm sorry! that didn't hit you did it?" he tried to approach her. "I didnt know what that was, I just got a little nervous and went on the offensive. If I wouldve known it was a girl I wouldnt have done that!" He was probably blushing from head to toe. Talking to friends that were girls was one thing, but talking to a stranger that was a girl. Now, thats a different story. I could feel his knees shaking.

Jen slowly turned, her eyes wide. Her hands were shaking so badly that she had to keep them behind her back. "H-hi... I-its n-not.. uhh.. y-our fault I-I shouldn't h-have k-kicked the t-tree... S-sorry f-for s-s-scaring you.. M-my f-fault." she said, trying her hardest to seem outgoing...

Lance could sense some type of uneasiness about her. "Um, you okay? Let me look" he took the girls hand and looked at the burn. "I'm so sorry!" he took out a tube of oitnment and rubbed it on her hand massaging it in and wrapped it securely for her. She seemed so fragile and soft, why was she in such a place like this?

Jen blushed deeply when he grabbed her hand and put ointment onto it. She pulled her hand back, muttering a soft "Thank you." before she looked down. Her other hand was shaking harder as the other freshly-wrapped hand joined it.

"Well, what r u doing out here?" he said putting his hand on the hips. "It's a little dangerous don't u think?" That sorta baffled him, a little girl out in the wilderness for no apparent reason.

Jen kept her eyes on the ground. 'Little girl' was not the best way to describe her. What would mum do? How should I know? It's hard to remember her... She's been gone so long... Jen thought as she turned around and started to walk away, trying to ignore the boy's question. I bet he would have fumbled for an answer, like I always do. She sighed. She was just a freak. Like every other person who has almost no friends. Heck, she had no friends yet.
