Juliet wasn't used to the layout of the city. Really, she wasn't used to the city at all. Nothing about the island was normal, and she kept catching herself thinking something only to have to double back on it when she realized that nothing that had been a given a few weeks ago was actually valid. Was staring even rude? Because like it or not, she was going to stare. How could she not? There was a monster made of transparent jelly walking around!
Every trip onto the campus to see Sándor resulted in a lot of staring. She had never gone to university, so the layout was entirely foreign to her. She had a map (because she wasn't going to go about in a strange area without one), but she made a point of taking her time every time she visited, getting used to having all the strange and confusing things around.
Juliet had claimed a spot on a bench near the front of the school, watching people come and go as classes let out for lunch. She was supposed to join Sándor for lunch, even though he didn't really need to eat, and since work hadn't started yet, she had time to kill.
The more used to people she became, the better she'd do at her job, and the less time she'd have to spend figuring things out.
