The apartment was nearly packed to the brim with people and demons when Live arrived at the party. A couple of her acquaintances who graduated last year had finally invited her to a college party. She figured it had something to do with her turning 18 a couple months ago.

She entered the room and made a beeline for the least crowded area, near the kitchen of course. She was told this place would be offering food as well as drinks. There was a tay of some kind of meat sitting out and Live began munching away, eyes scanning the room for any familiar faces.

Suddenly, she felt her phone buzz inside her coat pocket and pulled it out, taking off her coat as she did and tying it around her waist. Live actually made an attempt to dress for the occasion with this party, wearing something she had made herself and showing a bit more skin than usual. Of course, she wore her usual hodge-podgery of dark crystal necklaces, rings and string bracelets. Her makeup was on point, as usual.

She checked her phone, eyes narrowing as she read the message. Apparent her friends had ditched, headed to some bar near by. Live had zero interest in going somewhere she would have to pay for alcohol when there was literally a tub of perfectly good jungle juice right next to her. Hopefully no one would notice that she didn't know anyone here...

She stuck her phone into her purse, finished the piece of meat she was eating and went straight for the booze, grabbing a cup and filling it up. It was time to get faded.

There were those nights where Loveless would hit up the rave scenes in the underground, parties down there were usually lit. Of course "lit" entailed a possibility of death during the festivities. College parties were much more tame in comparison. Moments like that reminded him why his last name fit him, parties were great times. He could feel that passion of everyone in the air.

The demon made his way through the crowd, searching for the food, booze, and a decent vantage point to watch shit go down. This was an acceptable thing to do seeing as how he really didn't know anyone particularly well. He gave a few people friendly greetings as he made his way to the jungle juice. Stuff wasn't strong enough to get him drunk in any reasonable amount of time but he'd drink it just to drink it.

He grabbed his drink and some food and glanced over at the other person who seemed to set up shop in this corner of the party. She was rocking the college freshman Wednesday Adams look, kinda hot. He wondered if she was actually as tough as she looked. The lust demon did like a challenge. He turned to her giving her a cocky grin.

"Here for the booze?"

If someone had told Live that she would be meeting someone tonight who would possess a magic that could break through her walls in a single look, she never would have showed up.

She nodded slowly in response to his question, her empty gray eyes and monotone voice hiding any emotions that may have been creeping across her mind, "I had friends I was going to be meeting but they ditched for a bar downtown. So now I'm just...yeah..booze."

From a distance, Live's clothes just looked black but up close it was clear they were so much more. Shadow Silk, especially worn by a Shadow Walker, had a way of almost glowing with darkness.

"You? Booze, babes or some other bullshit?" She questioned, doing her best to retain her stoic composure. She couldn't have this insanely attractive guy knowing she was flustered. She had a reputation to uphold.

An eye twitch, was the response upon hearing her reason for hitting the antisocial corner. A crime had been committed tonight. Actually, two crimes that needed to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Free booze had been ditched for expensive bar booze. Second, and even more heinous in his eyes, an attractive person was ditched.

She was doing a good job of hiding any reaction towards him she may have. He often forgot that he even had an active aura that drew people to him. She probably wouldn't even have answered him if it weren't for that. "Wow, sounds like they kinda suck. No offense."

He smiled at her, slightly sympathetic as he took more note of her outfit. That wasn't something you buy at your average retailer. Custom outfit, reeked of magic, and that odd glow they had to it. This girl might be someone worth getting to know beyond just a quick lay. He liked people with talents like this. "I don't really know anyone here but free food and booze is all you really need to get me to go somewhere. That outfit, you make that yourself?"

Live shrugged, "None taken." She wasn't a big fan of the friends she had just spoken of, though they were more old acquaintance than anything else. The few people she actually considered friends knew better than to invite her somewhere and then ditch.

She nodded in agreement. Free anything was usually a pretty good motivator to get just about anyone, anywhere.

Now Live was able to contain her attraction towards this stranger, at least while she was still mostly sober, but she didn't care much to contain her pleasure that someone had taken notice of her handy work.

"Why yes, I did. I am a seamstress at Dark Arts Fashion. It's uh, Shadow Silk." She grabbed her skirt a bit, moving it slightly causing the material to show more of its depth.

Loveless smiled, he seemed to find his way in with this one. Seemed making clothes wasn't just some hobby she picked up, it was her job too. Good for her, he could practically taste her enthusiasm as she showed off her shadow silk skirt more. He had questions, he wanted to know more. About this shop, and even more about her.

"Dark Arts Fashion huh? I'll have to look them up sometime. Does that dress have any other effects besides that glow coming off it? And do you guys use other magically imbued materials?"

He shifted a bit awkwardly for a second. He was asking a lot about her but not telling much about himself. Loveless felt the need to rectify this situation quickly. He sighed, "Wait, I never even told you my name, it's Loveless Riot. I'm a student at the college. But my major's kinda boring compared to what you do for a living."

Live use to hate showing off. She would go out of her way to make sure people had no idea that she was smart or talented or even slightly interesting. She kept herself locked away by acting rude and disinterested in everything around her. A lot of that had to do with the environment she grew up in, at home and at school.

She smirked, "Loveless Riot, huh? Hmm.." Her eyes narrowed a bit as she gave him a once over, as if actually looking at him for the first time, "I have a feeling that name suits you quite well."

She looked back up at him with gray eyes, "I go by Live. Most people don't even know I have another name besides Live." She smirked a bit again before looking back down at her skirt.

"It's fireproof and pretty damage resistant in general. This skirt is made to appear more matte so it's not quite as colorful as some of the other weaves." She shook her head, "Both Kaya and I, the one who owns the shop, work almost solely with Shadow Silk. We can use regular fabric but that isn't really our forte."

She gave him a questioning look, "So what is your major?"

Apparently when he was born, the stars and planets lined up and his mother opted for that absurd name of his. Up to this point, he'd had awful luck in the genuine hook up realm. And he had a knack for stirring up chaos wherever he went. It seemed like every place he stayed before coming to Manta Carlos had something strange and supernatural happening. Almost like he was just drawn to the weird end of the world.

"My mom seemed to know I'd have a knack for getting into shit the second I was born," he laughed somewhat a forced laugh. The thought kind of got under his skin a little bit, but not enough to kill his mood.

"Live huh? And most people only know you as Live, that's kinda cool. You got that dark mysterious vibe too, I dig it," he grinned and gave her an approving thumbs up.

Shadow silk did actually have some pretty decent properties. In fact it was fairly similar to his own clothes, namely his jackets all of which were custom designs. He was definitely going to have to check out this shop at some point then. Clothes like that on an island like this weren't necessarily a necessity, but something nice to have.

"Gonna have to check out this shop then," he said, mostly to himself this time. He glanced out at the rest of the party before focusing back on Live, answering her question, "I'm just in automotive engineering, nothing too special, really."

This had to be the most normal, pleasant conversation Live had experienced in years. Usual, when she came in contact with another living creature, things didn't go this smoothly. Live would say that was just how she was but really, it was how she wanted people to believe she was; life was just easier when everyone thought you were a bitch.

"Parents often..." Her words stopped short as she realized she wasn't sure what it was she wanted to say about parents. It was a subject she didn't broach often and, in general, it made her uncomfortable.

Live shrugged, "Parent's are parents." Another good swallow from her drink and she was half way through with cup one.

"Yeah, well, my birth name sounds like the title for some shitty flower porno so..." She smirked and nodded, "I stick with the more dark and mysterious vibe. Glad you think it suits me." She said, a bit of pleasure seeping into her eyes and monotone voice as she looked up at Loveless. Something about that name gave her chills.

His clothes caught her interest, too. For a normal person it would be hard to see in the dim lighting but she was predisposed to lack of visibility. In some cases, she could actually see better this way.

"I work in evenings when I get out of school. Usually around 5 or 6...just depends on how long I get held up in detention. Weekends, my schedule depends on what I didn't get done during the week." She nodded to his coat, "Jackets and coats are a speciality of mine, though skirts are my favorite but I doubt you'd want one of those."

Ah, so he was a car guy. She should have guessed as much. "Can't say I know much of anything about automobiles. Don't even have my license." She took a few more drinks from her cup and then filled it back up. She was getting a bit of a buzz now but she was aiming for drunk; substantially drunk if possible. Maybe cross-faded too, if she could find somewhere good to smoke.

"I dunno man, Loveless Riot sounds like the name of some- oh my god I was named after a sex club," the demon paused for a brief moment, processing this strange moment of self realization. This required several cups of Jungle juice, which he grabbed and quickly downed. Still, he wasn't feeling much of anything. To be fair, the particular hell he hailed from was known for its overly indulgent nature as a whole.

He smirked at her skirt comment. She had no idea the absurd things he'd done. He knew full well what he looked like in a skirt; freakin' hot. And no one could tell him otherwise. Jackets definitely looked better on him though. His closet was full of them and there was great variation between them. It all depended on the outfit underneath. "Well, I do love my jackets. I'd rock skirts, but shaving my legs is such a pain," he joked.

"I just want to know how to build a magic engine, maybe open up a shop. Kinda wanna go road tripping again down the road. A car that runs on magic would be kinda nice for that," his explanation was simple enough. That said, he wasn't sure how well an autobody shop would do on an island where most people seemed to walk, or fly.

Loveless glanced back to the party. It was kind of mediocre, dull even for a college party. At this moment Live was the most interesting person at the party. "So Live, you smoke?"
