"Sure." Carmin was thankful when Madeline went ahead and picked something out. He didn't really even care what it was, he was just glad to be sitting there watching something.

When the show started up, he recognized it to be a comedy. It felt a bit like a Halloween special, but at the same time there weren't a whole lot of Halloween vibes aside from the characters who were supernatural beings. His eyes lit up as he watched, clearly invested in the show. He didn't laugh once throughout the whole episode, but he did find parts to be funny.

He quite liked the show, and was even a little disappointed when Madeline wanted to do something else. That was the most fun he'd had in a while, but that being said it didn't actually take much to entertain him.

"Okay, hmm." Trying to think of something else to do was challenging. The things that came to his mind were all stuff someone would usually do alone. And then he also didn't want to suggest something lame and look super boring. Even if he was.

"We could..." Carmin's eyes started darting around the room trying to get ideas. Anything. It was as if a timer was slowly counting down in his head and he'd be considered a lame if it got to zero.

Maddie thought about it for a moment. Things that Carmin can enjoy, that would also give her an opportunity to feed on a bit of his envy...

She had the perfect idea. "Have you ever been to an arcade?"

Arcades had food, but it wasn't mandatory. And the owner of one of one of the better arcades was basically in her debt now, which was a long story, but if she showed up when he was around she might get a few freebies. And she could really go for some bubble tea - that arcade had good bubble tea.

Carmin was relieved when Madeline suggested something. He wasn't sure how he felt about going to an arcade, but it didn't matter. Right now wasn't the time for being picky, so even if there were a lot of people around, he'd have to just put up with it.

"I have, but not for a very long time." He remembered enjoying it the last time he'd been to one, which was probably around eight years ago. "I guess it would be cool to see one again."

His last concern was the price. He wasn't exactly rolling in the dough to spend on things like this and he was pretty sure arcades were expensive. Still, this was important, he wasn't going to miss out on an opportunity like this because he was being stingy.

Madeline hopped to her feet.

"Then let's go to the arcade. We can win enough tickets for some fake plastic swords or something." They still had those, right?

Madeline remembered winning a couple with her brother, back when her dad drove the two of them into town and let them hang out at the arcade that one time. They had sword fights sometimes, until Madeline's mom threw hers away because she thought it was trash. At least that's what she said. It was a little hard to believe, if she really thought about it.

She didn't need that trip down memory lane, though. Right now, she was like a whirlwind, picking up the handful of things she would need for this arcade trip. At some point, Madeline was wearing a different T-shirt, but Carmin wouldn't notice her actually changing her shirt. It just... changed, suddenly. "Do you need to get anything before we go?" she asked.

"Oh, yeah" Carmin had sort of forgotten about the prizes at arcades. They definitely had them at the ones he'd seen before, he just didn't remember them well.

He watched as Madeline collected things to get ready to go. Though he squinted a little when he realized she wasn't dressed the same anymore. Or was she always dressed like that? Carmin was mostly just confused by this, letting out a small "Uhm-" before deciding to toss the question for now.

When reminded he needed to get packed up himself, he finally moved on. "Oh right, I'll go get ready, meet me outside my room. He then proceeded to rush down to his room and pull out his backpack. He filled it with a few water bottles and stuffed his wallet in a pocket. Then he'd change into a pair of blue jeans and a light blue shirt. He reluctantly pulled out a phone for just a moment to use the camera to see how he looked, but shut it off pretty quickly. As far as he was concerned, he looked stupid.

Still, no amount of clothes would make him look less like a dressed up house plant, so he'd still lug his backpack on and walk out to the hall to meet back up with Madeline. He was pretty excited for this.
