Live was stoned. Really stoned. She was sitting on the couch smoking when Loveless had gotten home. Thankfully her shoes were already on so she just grabbed her bag and walked out the door as he walked in. Immature, yes. But it was where she was at.

She finished her joint as she walked out of their building. How she didn't set off a fire alarm was beyond her. Once outside, she stuck in her headphones and began the walk to the park. It was a good place to clear her head.

For whatever reason, tonight was a Jakyll & Hyde soundtrack night. It had shown up on her Spotify account not long ago and this seemed like a good night to give a listen.

She was passing by the community center when she saw someone with familiar purple hair walking out of the building. She slowed down to make sure she wasn't mistaken before approaching. As she was walking toward's him though, she realized that while this was Ishvi, there was something about Ishvi that she apparently didn't know.

"Holy shit, you're a cop." She stopped a few feet from him, crossing her arms as she took out her headphones, her eyes looking him up and down. She smirked a bit. "You look good in a uniform."

Ishvi didn't say anything as the woman approached him. He did recognize her from before, and could see just fine in the darkness, but they'd barely interacted. Besides, he was just coming off his shift, and she hadn't seemed to like cops much. They had agreed on dirty cops being scrum, though. Thinking she was just headed for the community centre, he acknowledged her with a nod, and continued to walk.

As she came closer, he could smell the weed and wrinkled his nose a bit. He wasn't bothered by it particularly, it wasn't illegal or even a bad thing, it just had a distinctive smell. Plus he'd had to arrest the last person who'd smelled like that, for something completely unrelated, but the memory stuck.

She surprised him when she stopped to talk, but he didn't really mind. There were still a couple more hours until sunrise, and he was wide awake with nothing to do. "Yes. I am a cop. A good one. And you're the shadow silk lady. My name is Ishvi, by the way, I don't think I ever got yours."

Even though she had already said he was interesting when they first met, he was still taken aback by her compliment. He blinked at her in stunned silence for a moment, not even sure how to respond. "... what?" He wasn't exactly blushing, but he was definitely awkward, completely unaware of how he might be considered attractive. "I... what? You look ummmm... you have nice clothes too?"

"And I'm Live. I definitely didn't give yah my name before. But I am kind of okay with Shadow Silk Lady, too."

She watched as he became flustered by her compliment. It was kind of adorable and she couldn't help but chuckle a bit. She glanced down at her own outfit, not sure what she even had on. Black combat boots, of course, ripped black skinny jeans and a deep purple and black sweater made from cotton and shadow silk. It was one of her own creations. And one of her favorites.

"Yeah? I made this sweater myself." She was distracted for a moment, her mind pulled into the colors of the shadow silk that moved and changed ever so slightly.

She looked back up at Ishvi, her expression returning to a neutral expression as her eyes settled on his. "You said something before about not liking shadow magic. I want to know why." Her gaze was steady and focused, despite the fact that her eyes were pretty damn bloodshot.

"Live... I think I like that name. Seems hopeful."

Ishvi was very innocent, not experienced with much of anything outside the outpost and his work here. He wasn't good with people. Just a little naive, though not unintelligent. And he was honest. He did like her outfit - it was actually in line with his own tastes. His preference for darker clothes the one freedom he'd allowed himself.

"Made it yourself? It's shadow silk?" He glanced at the shirt in question slightly warily. If he didn't know it was made of shadow magic, it was something he might have wanted to buy himself. The way the colours moved was oddly comforting.

"I didn't say I didn't like it. I said it's not my thing. It's a weakness for me - I'm not sure it would react well if it touched me. Besides shadow magic was what..." He trailed off with a bit of a sad frown, remembering the demons his outpost had been fighting. Something about shadow magic had obviously hit a nerve, but there was no way for Live to know what.

Ishvi felt he should continue this conversation. Small talk confused him, but he was supposed to socialize. Besides, it would be rude to just walk away. "So you're um having a good walk?"

Live couldn't help but laugh at his response to her name, "Now that is a first. No one has ever called me hopeful."

She nodded, "Yeah. I usually have enough time at work to make myself a couple pieces of clothing every month." Live had always loved fashion, even before coming to the island. She was just too poor to afford really nice clothes tho she had stolen a few things throughout the years. Pretty easy to do when you can stand on one end of the store while your shadows steal from the other.

A weakness? Now Live was all the more curious. He hadn't struck her as someone who would be sensitive to darkness as he seemed fairly dark himself. However, there seemed to be more to his dislike of shadows than just a weakness. There was a story there and Live wanted to hear it. However, she had a feeling now wasn't the time to ask.

"I suppose everyone has to be weak to something." She shrugged and attempted a sympathetic expression as she thought of the sun.

"Yeah, my walk is quite nice. I prefer to be out at night it's...more invigorating for me."

She paused, weighing her options carefully. She needed to get in some meditation before the sun came up but there were still a few hours left and she still had enough charge left that she could change forms if she needed to get somewhere faster.

"Are you headed somewhere?" Maybe he was one of those cops who liked to grab a drink after being on duty.
