It had been a long day, to say the least. Cassandra had met a few boys, her current ‘future husband’, had some ice cream, and now she was ready to retire. She wondered what the dorms looked like, if they would be cramped or dirty. She wondered if she could fit all of her ridiculous amounts of stuff in the room properly. She hoped there would be a walk in closet. Ooh! And a jet tub! She skipped down the hallway towards where Abel had directed her earlier this day. Her freshman year was going to be totally awesome!

She rounded a corner, taking a scrap of paper out of her breast pocket, just to double-triple check the room number. She smiled, confident now that she had the right room, and bounded down the hallway. Luckily for her she was told they’d have all her stuff ready for her she swung the door open joyously, scanning the room with a huge grin on her face. Seeing no one there she flung herself on the bottom bunk of the bed to one side of the room. She had no idea why she was so happy. The room was small, to say the least. Cramped was more like it. Two desks on each side of the room, two very tincie closets in the back, two small twin dressers pressed together in between them with a door to the left that lead to the shared bathroom. Luckily, they actually had a huge window that took up most of the wall, one desk pressed up under it.

She thought she’d be upset that her room was… well… Crap. Instead, she just felt so giddy being away from home. A roommate! Oh she hoped she’d be the coolest! Oh nothing could touch miss Cassandra on her little cloud. She hugged her fluffy pillow, squealing, then looked up. Well something managed to bring her down from her cloud. She had five huge suitcases to unpack and there wasn’t much space to put it. She looked over at the much less luggage that certainly did not belong to her and sighed. She had probably had brought way too much. At least she was prepared to replace this ugly dark green bed spread.

She sat up quickly, too quickly as she smacked her head on the top bunk, letting out a whine and flopping lifelessly back down on the bed. She clutched her forehead, letting out a rather pathetic noise and letting out a great big sigh. Defeated, she lay on the bed with a bitter face and a big red bump on her poor forehead.

After her conversation with William and her discovery that the luggage she had excuse herself to see to had already been dealt with, she went wandering around the female dorms. For a while, she just examined the room numbers on the doors, taking her time in finding the one room that belonged to her; thirteen-thirteen, as she had called it earlier. Unsure whether or not she was on the right floor, she continued her search, idly glancing at each door in turn until she saw a girl come prancing down the hallway. It surprised her, making her slip back and around the corner she had just come out from behind in order to hide from the younger female that seemed so excited to be in the dormitory. A quick peek told her that the girl was entering a room and a second later, Trini found that she was alone once more in the halls.

"Weird..." she breathed, stepping out from her unnecessary hiding place and moving down the hallway again. She stopped when she saw the door that the young girl had skipped into and looked up at the number.

Her room; well, her shared room. She had heard before coming there that she would be staying in the dormitories which meant that there was going to be a possibility of having a roommate. In all honesty she had been looking forward to the experience; sharing a space with someone so closely, getting to know them and becoming friends. The idea appealed to her one hundred and ten percent, but seeing the young girl skipping into the room, she wondered whether or not she was really ready for it. Trini knew that she came off too strong at times when it came to making friends or even just talking to people, she liked talking to people in familiar ways and being the center of attention in a room, that didn't always go well with people who thought the same as she or thought they were better than everyone else, so she hoped it wouldn't be a problem here.

"Knock, knock," Trini knocked softly on the door before opening it, not wanting to interrupt anything or anyone upon entering. She was surprised to see the small girl from before smack her head on the top bunk as she sat up, only to flop back down and writhe on the sheets as if she were in terrible pain. Not knowing what to do, Trini just stood there, contemplating whether or not she should just step back and close the door again, giving the poor girl another chance to redeem her first impression.

"Ouch, you okay, chica? That looked like it hurt," instead, she stepped fully into the room and closed the door behind her.

A kind voice made its way to her ears. Was she okay? She just wanted to scream DON’T LOOK AT ME. She made an ugly face at the newcomer, looking angry but then stopped herself. She sighed and then laughed out loud. “Sorry I’m dumb.” She rubbed her forehead and sat up, careful not to hit her head again. She leaned towards the newcomer. “I’m Cassandra. You my roommate?” she smiled, all anger and pain gone but an ugly red mark still evident on her forehead.

“You new here too? This place is super weird right?” she giggled, clearly worked up over the whole first day. She continued to pelt the girl with questions. “So do you like it here? Everyone’s been pretty nice so far but it’s kinda scary that most everyone here could eat me.” She giggled and smiled sheepishly at the young lady. She suddenly hopped up and grabbed her bags, trying to move them off to the side. “Sorry all my stuff is all in the way and… stuff.” She shoved a couple bags against the door to the bathroom, trying ot clear at least a little room. “I guess I brought too much stuff.” She was in truth a little nervous still. She just wanted everyone to like her, and if they didn’t like her they must be losers anyway. She was really hoping that her roommate wasn’t one of those losers though…

Trini forced a smile as the girl looked up at her with a rather grouchy looking face, of course she didn't blame her, she had just been caught doing something rather embarrassing; she'd probably look grumpy too if someone walked in on her bashing her head into something accidentally. After a moment, the grouchy face dispersed and was replaced by the laughing smile that she had seen before in the hallway.

"Oh, uh, Trini," she laughed with her,"Trini De Costa, nice to meet you, Cassandra- and trust me, you're not dumb, I hit my head on things all the time."

Tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, she glanced around the room for the first time. Taking note of her luggage tucked away on the opposite side of the room. She hadn't thought to bring too much, thinking that she would be provided with whatever else she needed by the school, but when she saw the other bags and suitcases next to hers she thought differently. Vaguely, she thought that she hadn't brought enough, but the thought was scrambled when she heard the sudden onslaught of questions.

"Wha- yes, I- C-Cassandra- Cassie? Can I call you Cassie? Calm down, chika," she laughed again and flopped down on the bed next to her, "One question at a time, I'm not that fast a talker, you know?"

Cassandra mentioned how most of the people at the school could probably eat her and she felt a bit uncomfortable, knowing that the beast in her probably would if giving the proper opportunity. She jumped slightly when the young girl bounced from the bed and to her feet, shuffling over to what she assumed was her luggage and began to shove them out of the way of the center of the room and into the way of the bathroom door.

"N-no, no worries, it's fine," she leaned back on the bed, scoffing slightly as she eyed her items, "I figured I didn't bring enough."

So far, she liked Cassandra, she was bouncy and Trini liked bouncy; it was easy to play off of them and to get conversations going.

"Uh, so, what class are you in? Sophomore?"

She laughed again innocently, smiling at the girl next to her. She was so glad Trini was nice, even if he name was super weird and she talked weird. “Sorry” She apologized sheepishly. “I guess I’m just excited to be in a new place and all.” She paused in silence for a minute before the excitement got to her again and she was unpacking her clothes and hanging them up in the closet. She did her best not to pause, but she did take a second to think about the question that Trini De Costa posed. What year was she? She pretended like she hadn’t heard and let out a “yeah”. If caught in her lie, she’d just say she hadn’t heard her. It’s not like she’d leave her papers laying around the room. Hopefully.

She spun around and held out her fabled pink trench coat, hanging neatly on a hanger “What do you think of this?” Apparently the 90 pound girl’s clothes came from the Barbie isle.

"There's no shame in that...I'm pretty excited myself-" Trini's voice trailed off as she examined the size of the room they were in. Her attention focused on Cassandra again the moment she turned away from her and began to, almost frantically, hang her outfits and accessories in the closet; hearing an absent response to her previous question from the preoccupied girl, she blinked in surprise. Delighting in the fact that she had been right on the first go.

"Yeah."

So she was a sophomore? Trini gave her another once over and wondered whether or not she had skipped a grade or two; Cassandra was short for a sophomore, but then again Trini herself was short for a senior so, judging aside, she had no right to question the girl's response. Although she did have half a mind to ask how old the girl was, she stopped short when she spun around with a glaring pink leather trench coat draped over her arms in a half attempt at showing it off.

"Oh...my," she managed to choke out through a repressed laugh, "It's...uh, it's pink."

She looked down at the pink leather in her hands, confused by the response. “Sooo?” she smiled a little, apparently now out of her comfort zone. “You don’t like pink? I bet you’d look good in it.” She turned around and fished out an earthy green dress, short sleeves with wooden buttons all the way down. “How about this?” Really she was normally embarrassed to wear her favorite dress or show it to anyone, but she figured it was a safe bet that Trini wouldn’t hate it or think she was weird for having a dress that covered everything about the knee entirely. After showing it to Trini she put it back in the closet and went back to unpacking. An awkward silence ensued before once again the excited barely-teenager broke it.

“So uh… Are you from Mexico?” she asked sheepishly. It wasn’t her fault she was ignorant. She was from a rich white family in texas, these things sometimes happen when your mother and father are mildly racist.

Trini smiled slightly when Cassandra questioned whether or not she liked the color pink, in all honesty she didn't, the color was way too bright for her and honestly made her look as awkward as a wolf in sheep's clothing. She halfheartedly agreed however, and continued to allow the small girl to dig through her wardrobe and show off her wares, smiling genuinely when the lass brought out a green dress that seemed more her style than the gaudy pink leather trench coat she had been holding previously.

"Ooooh, that one I like," she nodded approvingly and slid her legs out from under her to hug her knees to her chest, the smile dropping slightly when Cassandra quickly placed the nice dress into the closet and moved on. For a while, they sat there like that, Trini holding her knees and Cassandra unpacking in silence, that was until the girl broke the silence by asking a question that Trini wasn't expecting.

"So uh... Are you from Mexico?"

Her ears perked up and she released her knees, letting them drop and allowing her legs to slide forward and dangle off the edge. She wasn't insulted by the inquiry, just surprised. It wasn't often that an individual would come outright and ask where she was from. There was an inkling of a feeling that the young girl was relying a bit heavily on the stereotype of a Spanish speaking individual but felt that she shouldn't hold it against her.

"Uh- heh- no, Brazil, but you were close," she chuckled and focused her attention on the back of Cassandra's head, "And you?"
