Her too-typical blush clung to her cheeks. With stars in her eyes she stared at him in joy. He thought she was interesting! She inwardly swooned. "Y-you really think so?" Her voice was high pitched and clearly nervous. Little did she know how much she could really do with it, especially once she mastered it. He seemed to be in deep thought for a moment and oh he was so handsome!

"I-I guess maybe sometime. What kinda stuff can you do? I mean... What... Kind of magic..?" She hadnt really thought out her questions before speaking and ended up tripping over her words a bit. But then he asked if she wanted to grab a bite to eat. Her thoughts went straight into the gutter due to his wording, leaving her speechless for a moment. Suddenly she realized they were in the cafeteria. Well she felt dumb. She looked around, peering in the door and turning her head from one side ot the other before stepping in. Looked pretty typical.

She stepped inside before moving to the food line. Wait. She froze. Was this a date? OH MY GOD, she thought, HE LIKES ME AND NOW WE'RE ON A DATE OH MY GOD THISISTHEBESTSCHOOLEVEROHMYGOD! She just wanted to scream and hop up and down. A guy had asked her to lunch! No! She must remain composed. She took a deep breath, and order a grilled chicken sandwich and a salad. "So... Do you like this school? I mean what's the difference from a regular school?" That's it Cassy, she though to herself soothingly, just win him over with small talk and this with be the best date ever!

"I can influence things at a distance. Though I can only move light things, and not very much," he explained his magic. It wasn't exactly a lie. Of course he omitted the fact that the closer he got, the greater the force he could create, and if he were using his powers to amplify natural physical force, he could create mid to high superhuman levels of force.

In the line he eyed the food from above the sneeze guard. It all looked good, but something would catch his eye and that's what he'd eat. He again didn't notice the girl's excitement. He could be quite dense when it came to these things. He ordered the taco and a strawberry shake.

"What I like about this school the most, is the fact that it isn't much different from any other school, except, for the fact that a person like me with strange magical powers, can attend without fear of being persecuted as a witch or a bad omen, or something else equally as silly," he explained in a rather long run on sentence.

"...That and they serve strawberry shakes in the cafeteria," one that seemed to be running continuously like a restaurant. He paid for their meals, without giving her a chance to protest.

“So like uh… what’s it called… Telekinesis or whatever?” She hmed. “Yeah that sounds pretty cool. At least you don’t like… Fall apart. Plus no one can tell that you are the one doing it right?” She began to walk towards a table, but she looked back at him, obviously quite interested in what he had to say. She bumped into someone, but it wasn’t the hilarious nonsense that you see in movies. She had to wiggle her tray in the air to keep the chicken sandwich on the plate, but other than that all was well. She apologized to the young lady and found a spot to sit, looking a little embarrassed.

“They still do that?” she chirped inquisitively. “I mean, like, the whole witch thing? I thought they stopped doin’ that” she took a lady-like bite out of her sandwich, then swallowed quickly. “So it sounds like that kinda stuff has happened to you in the past? That sucks.” Her eloquence was something to be marveled at, truly. She took another bite, listening to him carefully. She took a moment to marvel at his handsomeness again, staring at him with sparking eyes from behind her sandwich.

She glanced at his strawberry shake, swallowing. “That’s totes the coolest” She giggled, agreeing with him. Yes she was using the word ‘totes’ in conversation seriously, and she seemed perfectly okay with that. She seemed to hesitate before asking her next question, sizing him up for a moment. She wanted to keep asking him about himself, since this was obviously a date and all, but she was still so terribly nervous about this new school full of freaks. Oh but not her and her new friend of course. They were too cool. “So uh… Are people here nice…? Do they like try and bite you or spit fireballs or something? Cause that wouldn’t be cool…” Thank you for that, once again, highly eloquent assessment, Cassandra!

"Eh heh, and hear I went through all the trouble to not just say 'telekinesis'," he responded jokingly.

"But seriously... yeah... it's basically that... except magic, instead of psychic?" he continued with an upward infliction to show that he wasn't quite sure himself.

"I don't really get what the rules are for that... but apparently I'm magic..." he ended.

"It is kinda obvious, when I use it... since I have to expend effort. As for your powers, don't put it down. It's only falling apart if the pieces that separate become useless..." he reasoned.

"Eh well... they don't burn you at the stake... at least they didn't do that to me... but... they look at you. Different than before," he said, becoming a bit distant. He looked off towards the light of a distant window. It seemed so far away. So small, so weak. Slurp. He took a sip of his strawberry shake.

"But this place is different," he added.

"Eh heh, everyone I've met has been more than pleasant. I really enjoy it here, though I can't promise everyone will get along with everyone else, I can at least tell you that you've already got a friend in me," he responded with a smile.

"If you ever have any problems, feel free to let me know," He let her know this, since he was her student mentor.

She giggled at Abel’s joke, continuing to listen to him with great innocence and enthusiasm. She nodded, sending him quiet “Oh I see”s, not really having much to add to the conversation until he gave her a compliment about her powers. “You think so?” she grinned in an appreciative matter. “I guess you’re right. I just don’t know how they’d be much use like… ever.” She looked down at her hand, flexing her fingers. “It’s pretty gross too.”

She nodded at his insightful observation. “To say the least” she murmured disdainfully before taking another bite of her food. When he put it that way, she definitely knew what he was talking about. She smiled a little at his assessment of the school. At least people wouldn’t judge her about her… defect here. She gave him a big grin, swallowing her food. “I’ll have to do that.” She stared at him for a moment before turning red and busying herself with her food once more. If only she knew how much trouble she really would be getting into.

Her mannerisms were lost on him. Not really because he was dense, but instead because he simply wasn't arrogant enough to expect every single girl who smiled at him to fall head over heels in love with him.

He knew he had good looks, and sometimes even caught himself looking the mirror every now and then, but the idea of a person falling for him on sight was just too bizarre and unlikely. He couldn't be that lucky, could he? He just assumed she was a nervous, shy girl, doing her best to adjust to her new surroundings. That explanation made so much more sense to him.

Plus, there was that age gap. Surely she would be sensible enough to not consider someone so old and moldy as a potential romantic partner. Likewise, he didn't look at someone so young as a woman. Instead, he only saw her as his junior. Perhaps he was doing her a disservice by disregarding her feelings in this way. Perhaps he was indeed dense.

He continued to eat his meal, bringing up some small talk here and there. He politely brought up some official things about transferring to a new school. Things she probably already was aware of, but it was his job to remind her. He'd try and make a mental note about what she had already done and what she had left to get out of the way. Of course he'd offer her help with any of it.
