The moment Quie started pushing against his hand, the young dragon's eyes widened for a moment as he tried to better adjust his arm a little. He couldn't particularly move it much, but it did help a little.

His hand would've been pushed quite a bit from this moment of disorientation. But not willing to back down from a challenge, and wanting to prove himself, the clone pushed his hand back with all that he could.

The dragon's eyes were no longer focused on Quie's, since they were instead focused on watching the arm wrestling. An enthusiastic smile was on his face though, which would then drop a bit as he would try to focus on stopping his hand getting pushed down.

But despite his efforts, and the back and forth there could have been, the clone's hand would eventually be the one that hits the table. Once that happened, he growled in frustration. It wasn't directed at Quie, more of a general irritation. In a way, he felt more annoyed at himself for failing. "I wasn't trying my best, let's do it again." The copy quickly looked back up at Quie, a competitive and determined look in his eyes.

It was like facing off against a child at first. He just wasn't seemingly prepared even after seeing how it worked last time. Quie very nearly won outright on the first push and she didnt give him any extra chances. If he wanted to compete he'd have to actually try.

And try he did, finally. It seemed like she was able to draw out his interest with the competition and he pushed back quite well. It just wasnt nearly enough to overwhelm her clear advantage at that point. Their hands wobbled back and forth a little but ultimately Quie won out.

As the match finished Quie sat in quiet amusement as the younger dragon growled. Fine, let him get the frustration out. That was healthy for a dragon- as long as he didnt start losing control or breaking things.

After letting him vent a bit quie smiled back at him. "Of course, but only one more time for today. I'm afraid I can't stay here with you all day." She knew that probably would not be the most pleasant thing to think about, especially if he was starting to enjoy this a little, but she also didnt want to surprise him when it was time to go.

Quie readied herself for another round, though this time she was prepared with her usual tactic for dealing with those as strong as her. Dont spend all of you effort right away. Use enough to keep things more or less even and then steadily increase the pressure. Quie could be impulsive but she knew how to control herself and be smarter than just pushing with all her might and burning out immediately.

The young dragon stared at his hand for a second as he flexed his fingers. It wouldn't really be a surprise to say that was the first time he used a bit more of his strength in a more focused way. Only after he'd let go of Quie's hand did he realise that, and it felt a bit strange for a moment. But, not in a bad way. But since he still burned with competitiveness, this pause only lasted a moment before he placed his arm on the table once more.

But he almost let his arm drop limp as Quie said they could only do one more. He hadn't realised he'd been enjoying the company, only when the disappointment hit him did it sink in. "You're leaving??? But..." The copy huffed, not finishing his sentence. He didn't want to admit that he had been enjoying this. The dragon still felt too prideful to admit such things. But, he clenched his jaw and looked Quie right in the eyes with a determined look. "Well, you better come back then!" He growled.

With that, he'd grip Quie's hand much firmer than he had before. The look he had in his eyes just said 'I won't be going easy this time'. His position meant he'd be a lot better, but he didn't anticipate Quie's tactic. The copy would fall right for it. As soon as they began, he would've started to push Quie's hand with all his strength. Quite predictably, he would tire much faster than Quie. As soon as he did, and Quie gradually increased her strength, he realised too late. By then, his hand would already be closer to the table. Struggled as he could, it would not be enough and he would lose the second round. "WHAT?! But... but I was using all I had!" His hand was now completely limp, his eyes wide. Shocked and irritated was the tone he carried. But once more, it wasn't particularly directed at Quie. It was just he was extraordinarily confused by how he could have possibly lost.

Quie's emotional armor cracked a bit as it so clearly dawned on the younger dragon that Quie was going to have to leave. She wouldn't go so far as to say it was heartbreaking but... there was an urge to comfort the poor lonely dragon.

She couldn't go too far, not without Fweiu's decision on what to do about him. But had they not been in the middle of arm wrestling she might have acted on those impulses. But business first.

Quie's reclaimed icy calm stood strong as the sudden burst of strength came from the teenager. And then slowly he began to tire and she won out a second time.

Quie looked at him with a grin. "Raw strength won't cut it when you face people at your level or higher. Had you realized I wasn't straining myself and responded in kind it might have been a much closer match." Despite the smile Quie wasn't gloating. Instead she was instructing. Trying to teach him a little patience.

"And I understand you are feeling lonely. Others from our community may or may not come to visit. But if you wish I will try to make visiting you here part of my regular schedule if our Chief thinks it is appropriate. But you should ask me to come back. Not tell me to."

The dragon growled in frustration one more time before he listened to Quie's explanation begrudgingly. His goal for the foreseeable future had just become to beat Quie in an arm wrestling match, his pride dictated so. But he listened intently, as it would give him clues on what he should try next time. "Well, I'll definitely beat you next time for sure." He grumbled as he crossed his arms again. The young dragon had that sulking look again, so similar to Liun.

He quickly turned to look back at Quie to listen to what else she had to say. "I'm not lonely." He very quickly snapped. The copy would never admit that, not even to himself since he didn't believe he was lonely. But, in a way he was. Eventually he grumbled again. "Fine, could you come back?" His voice was quieter, as a part of him felt he shouldn't need to ask. He could just tell her to. But unconsciously, he didn't really want to get on Quie's bad side, and being stubborn with how he usually acted felt like it could get on her bad side.

Quie nodded at the defiant declaration. She had little doubt the younger dragon would do everything he could to test her strength in the rematch. It would be fun, and truth be told there would be great value in seeing how he acted after a win anyways.

And no matter how much he denied it, Quie could see clearly that he was in fact lonely. Who wouldn't be, cooped up on the islets and knowing theres a number of other dragons out there to be with.

But she didnt react to his denial. Simply staring him down until he acquiesced and actually asked her to come back and visit. Had he insisted on demanding it she would have refused. "Very well, I think I should be able to return to see how you are doing and keep you company for a bit. In the mean time I'll leave my information with the staff here in case you wish to contact me."

And with that she offered her hand for him to shake and prepared to leave unless he had something further that needed discussing.

The younger dragon would stand from where he had been seated, to look Quie in the eyes. Before he had a reaction of only vague interest as he looked at Quie, but now he looked at her with some respect.

He stared at her hand for only a moment before he took it in his own to shake her hand. “It was nice to meet you, I guess.” The copy looked a little off to the side, and almost sounded a little embarrassed. The stubborn teenager hadn’t existed long, and to admit he liked someone was not something he did often. “Maybe I’ll have a name you can call me by, by then.” He rubbed the back of his neck a little awkwardly.

Ah yes, a name. Quie had felt very strongly that it wasn't her place to offer ideas for that. Maybe someone else would be a little better suited to that task, should the young dragon indeed come under their wings, so to speak.

She nodded in her own return of the respect he showed her. Shaking his hand in a firm, but not aggressive way. "I look forward to hearing what you decide to be called. Until then it was good to meet you as well, young Sir."

Releasing his hand she gathered up her things and headed for the door. Turning back to give him a polite smile. "Don't forget. The staff will have my direct number if you need to contact me. Whether you ultimately join us or not... a dragon deserves the opportunity of speaking with their own kind if they wish." And she left the younger dragon to go report to her sister the Chief.
