Another mundane school day was finally finished, leaving Theo free to his own devices. As per his routine, he finished the homework he didn't get to at lunch in the library. From there he headed to the school gates where his bodyguard was waiting to take him to his next destination. He armed himself once in the car and decided to pay Kylar a visit. He did this at least once a week sometimes twice, and not including those times he'd break in to mess with his stuff. The one thing that had slipped his mind was shooting him a text seeing if it was okay. Oh well, he knew his brother's schedule well enough to know he'd most likely be home.

He arrived at the apartment complex, making his way to the door and knocked. In public the brothers seemed to fight with each other quite a bit. Theo was generally the openly aggressive one while Kylar was more passive in his responses. When they were alone, or away from people they knew they were much more civil. Theo knew Kylar was a fairly cold person in spite of his friendly exterior. But to be fair, Theo often found himself surrounded by such beings, this was nothing new. In spite of this they had a genuine brotherly relationship, or at least he'd say they did based on interactions.

Today he had a bit of an odd request, which had to do with the thing in the black metal box he was carrying. It was a bit of a big request too. He hated those about as much as he hated half his classmates. He could hear Simon murmuring something in the back of his mind. Nothing that warranted an audible response, he put on his usual scowl and waited for his brother to answer the door.

Cold, was one way to describe Kylar. If told this to his face, he wouldn't have denied it. Was he cold? Was that what it meant to be him? Kylar had a worrying lack of empathy and rarely felt much of anything at all (which was his only saving grace from impulsive bouts of aggressive fun). It was a dull life, actually, when he wasn't all playing Cyanide (a cute killer's name) with Vincenzo.

As it were, Theo was spot on. Kylar had gotten home not that long ago. he was just in the process of taking raw human meat from his fridge and consuming it when there was a knock on his door. He stopped with the meat an inch from his mouth and growled in annoyance. His particular condition meant that Kylar couldn't feel the hunger when it clawed at his stomach, but he could feel the beginning of it when it was right in the back of his throat.

He wrapped the meat up and shoved it back into his fridge before putting a smile on his face and opening the door. When he saw it was Theo, the amiable expression dropped.

"Oh, Theo. It's just you. I wasn't expecting you today." He ensured Theo had no one with him before opening his door for his brother. "Come on in, I was just about to eat."

Once they were both inside, Kylar returned to the fridge for his meat, sat at the counter and turned to stare at his brother. "What's up?"

Despite the indifferent expression he wore and his seemingly chilling greeting toward the younger man, Theo was Kylar's absolute favorite person. How deep that went, was hard for him to describe. He'd never felt any other way, but of everyone in the world, Kylar would have liked Theo to continue living the most. That said something, he was sure.

His timing was more or less on point, though he felt a little bad to interrupt his feeding. Especially when he had to lay a request on him. He entered the apartment with Kylar, glancing to his left and right in case some weirdo decided to tail him. Though the "all clear," in Simon's familiar and reassuring tone at the back of his mind told him everything was fine. "Well I assume you probably already heard about mother going after those upstarts on our turf," it was Theo's way of saying everything was going well at home, and mother was fine.

He placed his box on the table. There was really only one thing Theo would use a box like that for, so its contents were definitely alive inside there. The fourteen year old beat down any doubts he had, of course Kylar would listen to him and help him out, what else did he have to do tonight?

"So, I caught a thing," he started, his eyes drifting over to the box. He frowned as he cut right to the chase. "Long story short I'm gonna bind it like Simon. I was wondering if you could be on standby just in case it goes wrong and shit hits the fan. Mom and Alice treat me like a baby all the damn time. Gets on my nerves."

He scowled and mumbled something about Shay under his breath, but it was something only Simon probably picked up on.

Kylar quirked an eye at the box Theo set before him, interest piqued. Now, he wasn't worried, not even about Theo in any meaningful way. But he did have to know something before they began.

"How am I supposed to stop an Eldritch abomination from eating you, Theo? Look, I know I'm strong, but I'm not that strong." He smirked, having not picked up on what Theo said about Shay, though he'd heard her name. He didn't care enough to prod on the point. Kylar had decided long ago that he didn't want to fuck with the Rosales kids more than necessary.

"What's even the point of binding this thing? What does it do?" The scholar in him was more than a little curious. He was all up for this task, the food was forgotten the second Theo had set the box before him.

"Oh I don't expect you to stop it from eating me at all," Theo answered in an oddly nonchalant manner. He wasn't afraid of being consumed by an eldritch creature. Dying in and of itself didn't scare him, even being a vegetable because of a mental overload didn't do much in the way of scaring him. "You don't know how to fight these things, Kylar. I just need you in the event of something going wrong. I'll probably lose some kind of body function to it if that happens, considering I'm its host it wouldn't kill me. And it doesn't have the strength to fully overtake my mind, no one does."

He'd gone over all the possibilities in his head, as well as his notes. The reward would be worth it if this went off without a hitch. If something went wrong, he could probably work out something and adapt. It wouldn't be ideal, but he'd figure something out, probably, eventually.

"Well," he cracked open the box a little bit, a pair of slimy black tentacles slipped out, waving around. "Unlike Simon, Alvin here could augment my physical ability among other things if I do this right. I need to toughen up," he huffed, pushing Alvin's tentacles back into the box and sealing it back up.

"Besides, me attempting something like this was only a matter of time."

Kylar was equally nonchalant about the whole thing as his younger brother. Where Teo's came from experience, Kylar's came from an innate inability for fear and most anxiety. He drummed his fingers on the table, thoughtful, and breathed out.

He held up a finger. "Give me a second then, I should be fed for this."

He stood and went back to the fridge to pull out some bloody meat. He kept his back to Theo as he ate. Not because he thought his brother would be disturbed or even because he was embarrassed by his feeding habits, but rather because he was a predator and this was his meal.

Once he had finished and wiped his bloody mouth on his sleeve, he returned to the table, not bothering to completely clean the corners of his mouth or his now soiled shirt.

"Tell me what I gotta do or where I gotta stand," he said, watching tentacles slip from the box before Theo shoved 'Alvin' back inside his containment. "You going to eat it or something, right? Or is it a ritual?"

Kylar, for all his intelligence and studious nature, had never looked into Eldritch beings. Before Theo, there hadn't been much interest, and now, with Theo around, he figured it was smarter to leave all that to his younger, more capable brother. It didn't escape his attention what an amazing opportunity Theo was giving him, to see an actual Eldritch ritual done.

Theo watched Kylar eat his meal curiously. His brother had manners that were about as poor as Simon's. It was okay though, watching Kylar do his thing was fascinating. He cleaned his face up but his shirt was a bloody mess. He shook his head, "God you're filthy."

He took the box and moved to the open space in the apartment. Opening it up once again to let the little creature out. Alvin, in his full glory, seemed to be nothing but a wriggling wad of tendris. Amid the tendrils were four arms which resembled baby arms. Alvin had no apparent head or arms to speak of. A single eye popped out from the top of the creature amidst the tendrils. What should have been the white of the eye was black, and the pupil was red. He wasn't a particularly large abomination, but Theo saw enough potential within it to be willing to bond with it. It seemed to simply sit rhythmically blowing raspberries from some unknown mouth. Seeing it now, it was a little hard to take the thing seriously, especially with his brother watching.

"Eating it would only give me a temporary effect. If I bind it to me I can draw on his power whenever I need to. It's more or less like forming a contract with a summoning creature. Only difference is they get to live in some part of me. Simon's got my shadow. Alvin wants to live in my mind," He pulled a large piece of paper out of a drop compartment in the box, unfolding it, and set it on the ground. On it was a magic circle, which he'd meticulously drawn up. Alvin crawled into the center of the circle and gave the boy a thumbs up. "Here goes."

Without any hesitation Theo also took a seat in the center of the circle, cross legged with good posture. He began chanting in some dead language. For the average human, a chant like this could take several people to even process and recite the language. The mental strain was simply too much. Learning and practicing could take months. For Theo however, a ritual like this could take only moments. He could feel some sort of energy taking hold of them, bringing them together.

There was a brief moment of calm before he realized something was off. The little shit was trying to take over his mind. He'd warned Alvin against trying. Simon, even acted as a double deterrent for that. Alvin seemed intent on taking Theo's body, at least becoming the primary host. Inside Theo's mind there was a fight taking place. On the outside, Theo clutched his head in pain, his eyes blackened and began to spill some odd black fluid onto the paper. Towards the end Theo began to claw at his eyes, prompting a tendril and a hand of Simon's to emerge and pull them away. "Fuck," he grunted before passing out.

Simon had opted emerged in a full hood and robe, keeping his "head" wrapped in bandages as he went to pick up his host in one large arm. The abomination pulled out a spare set of wrappings and began to wrap Theo's eyes which still leaked the fluid steadily. While collecting up what had spilled out in a jar with another set of limbs, to study later. He turned to Kylar, pulled out a note pad and wrote, "Lost sight, botched melding. It tricked him."

Seemed too easy to Kylar, who knew predators better than he knew people. Eldritch were predators. Complete terrors, why would one want to work with a kid? Sure, Theo was strong, and they couldn't drive him mad, but like any predator, they wouldn't accept that as an answer. Not without a damn good fight.

Kylar didn't fight it, however. He stood on the sidelines, arms crossed but ready for shit to hit the fan. There was a high probability of that, wasn't there? Or else, why would Theo have come to him in the first place. Smart, smart, smart kid. That was why Kylar had a soft spot for Theo. Or, as sweet a spot as he could given his condition.

Ky tilted his head when he saw the thing, staring at it expressionlessly. Eldritch beings were wonderfully quirky things. He wondered what interesting things they whispered to Theo. Kylar had never exactly heard Simon's voice. It was always just a loud buzz with meaning that Kylar shouldn't have been able to find. But there it was.

Safe to say, he wasn't surprised when the whole thing went to shit. His mouth thinned, and his eyes hardened as black ichor streamed from his brother's eyes. Kylar stood and took a step forward, but was too smart to approach the situation when there was nothing he could do.

Being a telepath meant Kylar knew something was up, but it was all madness and terrible noises. Simultaneously, he both understood and didn't. Something had gone wrong (which Kylar knew would happen) but shit was going down that he couldn't see.

"I can hear that," Kylar told Simeon steadily, approaching the pair to help tend to his brother. "Anything in particular I need to do for him?"

There was too much noise for Theo to focus on one thing. Having his eyes possessed wasn't like simple blindness, he was completely cut off. Like someone had gone and torn his eyes out. There was nothing he could do at this point outside of loosing a string of profanities. The pain the was feeling was something he couldn't even begin to describe, but even that would eventually settle. He finally managed to bring himself to his knees. He had no idea how long he was writhing around on the ground.

"Stop laughing at me like you won something," his voice was shaky, he brought a trembling hand to his face. Theo didn't care what Alvin took at this point. He could feel the sticky traces of the ichor on his face. His eyeballs were moving independently, this was going to be his life for a while. He could hear the other eldritch being mocking him. A new voice that wasn't his was now going to give him list of reasons why he sucked. It was his personal hell.

Simon, meanwhile looked from Kylar to Theo and opted to help the boy stand up the rest of the way. He tended to forget Kylar was telepathic and could understand him to a degree. "Should get him back home. Needs rest and research....probably wants to shoot something." the being moved closer to his host. Theo knew Simon's presence well enough he could take comfort in it as he moved a bit closer to his loyal familiar

"He's still reaching for motor control of the rest of my body, too bad I locked him out. Fuck," he gripped his face in pain, doubling over again. "This is probably gonna happen for a while..."

Kylar helped Theo to stand and reached over to grab a rag off the counter. He ensured it was clean and dampened with warm water before gently wipe away the ichor from Theo's eyes.

"It's fine, I've got you," he told his brother and strangely meant it. Kylar didn't have exact emotional attachments, and he didn't feel panic or fear during this entire situation, but he would help Theo with whatever his younger brother needed. That was the cost of family and loyalty.

He kept his hand on Theo's shoulder, so his brother knew which side Kylar was on. His voice was soft and even as ever. Ky hoped Theo wouldn't hit him, if only because it would make his job harder, but he'd accept the aggression when it came anyway.
