She'd think a moment, even closing her eyes as she did. What the other girl said made sense and she did want to live. "I.......I have a girlfriend," she'd say, "I know she's looking for ways to help too."

The half reaper would look over the books. "I don't want us to research and all that so much that we don't do things together," a part of her still felt weird over being in a relationship, being attached to someone.

"She insists on helping.....which makes me want to do more too." She'd sigh a bit, removing her own head as well and setting it on the table.

Phoebe wanted to say something about how Vespa could remove her own head, but she stopped herself. Now wasn't the time, the voice in her head told her. She needed to be sensitive to this girl's plight, and that included not shifting the conversation to something so trivial.

"I get that too. I'm glad you have people who care so much about you. Maybe you two can, I dunno, do your research together? Cook a nice meal, cuddle up under a blanket, and do the same kind of research you're doing all on your own here?"

"If the worst comes, you don't want the major memories you have just being you getting frustrated alone in a library. Make memories that you'd be proud to move on with."

That sounded about right, she thought. It was kind of clumsily worded, but Phoebe was pretty sure she got the main point across at least. She smiled at Vespa, and the most swirling out of her neck altered its pattern to something that could be described as hopeful.

She'd listen the older girl, humming in thought, strumming the top of her head, she tried to nod before remembering she couldn't currently do that. "Yeah, I'll do that, spend time with her," she did care able Katie, even if she struggled to show it sometimes.

"I know she's scared about me dying," she remembered how she had a bad panic attack when she first found out. "I....I don't want her to be afraid or scared over me," her girlfriend was such a happy girl, her being sad seemed wrong.

Vespa would sigh. "Maybe you should talk to her too," with a snort, "she's better at this communication thing than me."

"Well," Phoebe said with a him, tapping her hands on the table. "You can't stop her. She's going to worry regardless, if she cares about you. I wished so many times my parents... that's not important though."

She shrugged at the next suggestion, a distinctly weird gesture for someone without a head. "I dunno about that. I mean I guess I can. It's not really in my job description, but it can't really hurt either right?"

She'd not, thinking a moment. "I'll see if she's up for meeting you....maybe it'll help her be less stressed," she was stressed too but she wasn't going to admit.

The reaper girl would look at her a moment. "Thank you," she'd finally say, "I.......," she'd pause, "I'm sorry I grabbed you." It was the first time she'd apologized to anyone besides Katie.

Phoebe flushed pink a bit, rubbing at the back of her headless neck awkwardly when Vespa apologized. She shrugged and said, "Don't worry about it. I get it, kind of. I freaked out really bad when I found out I'd died. I lashed out at my coroner the first time he tried to tell me that going to see my parents was a bad idea."

"But yeah," she continued, her smile returning somewhat as she felt like she was actually doing a decent job this time around. "I'll talk to Katie if she wants to, and if you ever need to talk about anything..."

Phoebe clumsily grabbed a scrap of paper and a pen, turning her head around so she could watch herself write and make her penmanship a little less shaky. Her name and phone number written down, she handed it over to Vespa. "Give me a call. I'm here to help."

She'd accept the number with the tiniest smile, perhaps she was getting a tiny bit better at this communicate thing. Either way, it was nice to talk to another reaper, to know she wouldn't be alone, even if death did come for her.
