"Eh, no problem," he'd shrug, "the glow is interesting...figuring out how to adjust it's brightness could be useful." He imagined him being able to release it as a bright flash would be quite painful for anyone able to see it, "magics damn weird, I'm still trying to figure out my death magic."

He tilted his head a little, "kinda curious about what being exposed to that glow of yours would do to me long term," he was immortal, he'd cone back healed if he ever died, so the risk of damage didn't really mean much to him.

"Isn't there a club?" Valli suggested. He didn't know if they exactly were tailored, but didn't they cover this sort of thing? "Hereafter."

One of his patients had mentioned it. "They specialize in species and abilities that are... maligned, or seen as evil. Death magic would certainly fall under that umbrella. If you're looking for people to help, you might consider joining if you haven't already."

Maybe he had, and Valli was preaching to the choir, but that preaching was a pleasant distraction. It was a way for Valli to calm himself, because he always calmed down when offering help to others, compared to when he focused on himself.

He nodded, "already joined, it's a good group," it had been a good idea, a club to represent beings that were misunderstood. Though there wasn't a whole lot of positivity about someone who's purpose is to end the world via bringing death to everyone, "I'll figure it out, just gonna take some time."

"So...a life god huh?" he looked him up and down, "guessing you're not immortal." He looked like he aged like a human, "a little odd considering the glow you're giving off." John was death, he could sense it, basically see it when it was near, looking at Valli was the opposite, just so alive.

No, not immortal. Not as far as he knew, anyway, but he aged, which was the firmest example of not immortal you could get without actually dying. Really, if you got past thirty and didn't stop, it meant you probably hadn't been blessed with that.

"A god blessed with life and protection, yes. Not strictly associated with life, but with... all the good things. Joy, light, purity..."

Basically, everything good in the world, which Valli supposed included life as well. "Who knows, maybe I'll stop aging entirely and end up stuck at this age."

The idea was enough to make Valli crack a grin despite himself. Stuck at forty... but at least it was better than being stuck at ten like some people.

John nodded, "well...those domains explain some things," the glow, but he also looked perfect somehow, "you do sorta look pure."

"Maybe," he said quickly, he hadn't taken well to immortality, the idea of living forever seemed unpleasant, especially for a death being. "Eh, definitely got a lot of life coming off of you anyways," hee notice a shift in his body language, he'd fidget just a bit, suddenly uncomfortable he'd brought immortality up.

"So..uh..yeah, the glow is life as far as I can tell," hee clear his throat, "it's cool, just wasn't expecting it."

It seemed to Valli that their conversation had more or less run its course. Part of that, inevitably, was his own discomfort as being described as pure. He knew it was just a response to his mention of Baldr's own, but there was still an edge of unease.

"Thank you for the help," Valli said. "I'll have to look into it, and see if I can't figure it out... and how to turn it off." Which was priority number one, although it wasn't clear if it was possible. Could he even do it? If it was an intrinsic part of him, he genuinely might not be able to, and Valli cringed slightly at the thought before shaking his head and getting back to the matter at hand.

"So yes, thank you very much," Valli said. "And it was nice to meet you."

With his goodbyes done, Valli set off towards the library to pull some reference books on the matter.
