Carmin was feeling a weird mix of jealousy and gratitude. On one end, he actually found the advice to be really helpful. It was a sort of conversation he never knew he needed to have and didn't think he'd be very comfortable having with anybody else. Though there was a jealousy building in him over it all. Junchi was two years younger than him, also looked like an eight year old, but clearly didn't have as much trouble with issues that Carmin blamed on his appearance. It was almost as if those issues weren't entirely because of the way he looked. Either way, Carmin had to swallow his jealousy, just like he always did.

"That's... pretty good advice." Carmin looked at the ground and nodded a few times. "I'll try to use that the next time I run into a kid. Thanks."

Junchi was so deep into this lie he wasn't sure when to back out and call it all a prank. In this case, wouldn't it be better to keep the lie up? Carmin looked to be feeling better and he appreciated Junchi's words. To end all of that by revealing that he was being tricked because he annoyed a little kid would backtrack everything.

Junchi chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. There had to be some way to fix this in case the lie was revealed. "R-Really? That makes me happy. Um, do age charms not work on you?" He then quickly added on, "Too?"

The mention of age charms caused a small red flag to spring up in Carmin's mind, but he answered the question first before mentioning it at all.

"They don't, those scout people or whatever they're called tried a boatload of dumb charms when I got dragged here, turned out that anything that affects my appearance doesn't work right."

He wasn't exactly suspicious about what he was going to ask next, it was more so curiosity. "Um, you said it was a medical condition for you, right? If that's the case then why don't age charms work on you?"

Junchi tensed. He didn't want to keep on lying to this ki—man. Not directly, anyway. So this was why his people preferred to not do direct lies. They're so troublesome when you're no longer interested in them.

"I'm made out of magic. Some magic stuff doesn't work on me. But, um, it runs in the family. If I changed, I bet I'd make my family uncomfortable. I-It doesn't matter. Anyways. Umm, have you tried makeup? My dad has a baby-face and small body, buuut he has bags under his eyes and creases and stuff. Oh! And he's buff. I'm buff too."

Junchi made no lie in those sentences, though he made some assumptions. One thing was for certain: his body was toned for a child. It was somewhat difficult to notice with his scales, but his arms little muscular and the shape of his deer-like lower body was thicker than a usual deer.

"Try putting on wrinkles with makeup and work out! You could try looking like a midget. Wait... is small person the right term?"

Despite having been on the island for a few months, Carmin still knew next to nothing about how magic stuff worked. Being made out of magic and that causing charms to not work seemed possible enough at that point.

Carmin did have to squint at Junchi when he said he was buff though. But upon closer inspection, that also seemed to be true.

“I’ve never worn make-up, I don’t know if that’s such a good idea though, I’m not exactly a good artist and I’d have to do some extra weird stuff because my face is green...” He frowned, “As for working out, it doesn’t, uh, work out. My body is all plant matter. Doesn’t matter how much I work out, can’t build muscle if there isn’t any there to begin.”

Junchi frowned and clicked his tongue. "Nuh-uh. No no no. Don't you start making excuses. If you have a big problem, you need to make big steps for the big solutions. Working out might not work, but make-up still sounds possible!" He shook his head, exaggerating his disappointment. "You're not a good artist? Practice. Watch internet tutorials for non-humans annnnd learn... uh... color theory! That, I think. Or pay people to do make-up for you."

Carmin seemed to recoil at Junchi's response, that certainly wasn't what he wanted to hear. Having to go out and buy make up would probably be an embarrassing feat on its own, but there was no way he could ever get to a point where he'd be comfortable wearing the stuff out in public. He'd probably end up looking even worse.

"It's too embarrassing, I can't do it" Carmin crossed his arms, while his face seemed to become a lighter shade of green. "I'm sorry, I just can't..."

Junchi sighed, seeing that he was pushing Carmin away than helping him. "I don't have any more advice. Um... heh, yeah..." He rubbed his arm, not understanding what was so embarrassing about wearing makeup. "Think about it. I think it'll help a lot. My markings are like makeup and I think I look pretty. I think a lot of people look pretty in makeup and you would too."

He thought for a moment, then thought up another suggestion. "What about heels? To make you look taller?"

This was all wrong. When Carmin heard that this was a teen that looked like a kid, he expected to be exchanging troubles they'd been having and that he'd have someone to relate with. So far, that was not the case. Junchi seemed to be comfortable in their skin, a small fact that caused Carmin to feel inferior and jealous.

Carmin shook his head. "I can't do that either, it's hard enough to walk as it is." Talking about this stuff was making him awkward and he knew it, he needed to talk about something else. "Um, I appreciate the ideas, but maybe is there anything you struggle with that I can help with?"

He went too far with his advice and now he had to deal with the consequences. Junchi didn't want to lie again, but it was either that or face worse consequences.

"O-Oh, well, um... I don't really think so. My stuff is a family thing. My family with the same problems help me. And... Aaaugh!"

Junchi legs crumble beneath him. "I give up. I lied about being sixteen because you were mean and I got annoyed. Then I felt bad and wanted to help you. Don't be angry. I didn't lie about everything."
