Jude had decided to wait for the end to show his drawings, mostly out of sheer, simple embarrassment. He'd hopefully get over it by the time the whole thing was over, but that would take at least a bit of time.

Well, mostly distraction: Time didn't help much. Jude wasn't really capable of the whole forgive and forget thing, because he couldn't forget no matter how he tried. He could spend a decade and still experience the same emotion the moment he thought back to the memory.

That was an issue, but it was one he was working on.

The next challenge was... a hell of a challenge. Drowning was an action. Disease was... a concept. For several seconds Jude's brain ground to a halt as he tried to think his way out of drawing a concept, and in the end he settled on a loose--much faster--sketch of a hospital bed, a stick figure, sickness...

They got to 'Ill' as a guess, and Jude was... well, stumped. How did you get from ill to disease.

Kal turned the sketchbook to a new page in case he needed more room to work with for the second drawing. He knew that Aso was just happy with the competition but Dane really wanted him to try to be more artistic. To put real effort into what he was drawing, or at least what he was trying to convey.

Kaliyan squinted at the paper as he unfolded it. He might have to talk to Dane again later about toning down things a bit. Not everyone was so understanding about the whole morbid fascination with death thing. The kid apparently spent a lot of time around death and the dead and his brain naturally went to those topics. But that was not the time or the place for them to have that discussion.

He put his pencil to paper and realized he didn't have a great idea how to draw 'disease'. There just wasn't a way to quickly draw that. He tried a whole bunch of things and ended up with a paper just full of random hastily drawn pictures and symbols. There was a sort of mouse head shape and an arrow pointing to what looked like a face with a really long nose, which was supposed to be a plague doctor's mask. Above that there was a biohazard symbol and some sort of beetle thing, which was supposed to be a tick for lyme disease. None of it was getting through and Aso was getting a little frustrated with Kal.

"What even are some of these things Kal?" The teen was just not getting it. And then Kal remembered a couple signs he's seen at work about not spreading disease. He added as best he could a picture of two hands under a very simple looking pipe with dashed lines "spraying" out of them. He also drew a head shape turned to the side with a cone of dots and lines coming out. Kal drew another line from the symbols pointing to a group of stick figures with x's for their eyes

"Poison... bug... sick.. germs.. ill.. the cold... flu.. the plague.. How specific is this? Uh, sickness, illness... disease?"

That one wasn't really due to Kal's drawing ability at all. It was only by pure luck and running through synonyms that Aso even guessed it. Kal got him in the right ballpark with his drawings but you couldn't really draw the concept of disease so he'd had to just try to throw as many different similar things at his partner until it stuck.

Dane clapped as he heard the word said out loud. Kal smiled at Aso and put down his pencil. "Good job, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten that one."

He'd lost. Technically he'd lost really badly, considering it was best two out of three and he'd lost two outright. But his second one... well, it didn't feel nearly as bad. It felt like he'd tried, and lost in a fair match, and could walk out with his head held high. He felt less awful, even if the concept had been so out there that it was hard to figure out what to draw.

"That was a hard one," Jude admitted. "Trying to draw anything that's like... a concept. I was thinking skulls or scripts or something, or..."

Jude sighed, and then flipped around his sketchbook to show what he'd done. The art wasn't bad, although it was considerably sketchier than the first page.

"It was a good match though," Jude said. "Thanks for doing it with me."

Wolfgang watched the two of them quietly for a moment, and then glanced to the other two Regalia, giving them a quick match.

"You're right," Wolfgang said. "It was a good match."

Jude shot another very skeptical look at Wolfgang, and then turned back to Kaliyan.

"You're a student, right?"

It was Kal's first actual win of the tournament. Though to be fair the one he'd done with Cam had been really really close. He gave Aso the high-five he knew the teen was going to want and then gestured for Dane to come look at his mediocre at best sketches.

The kid giggled at Kal's drawings and then walked over to take a peek at Jude's. "Sorry you didn't win the game. I didn't want to make it all easy and then everyone is just done right away. You had to really think for that." He continued his creepy smile as he examined the drawings. personally he felt Jude should finish the first drawing as a sort of side project. Add in a look of terror on the person's face and... no Kaliyan had been trying to get him to keep those thoughts more to himself. He held his tongue.

Aso hopped on over to give a handshake to Jude and Wolfgang, saying how it was really fun.

Kal nodded at Jude, "It was a lot of fun. I think that last one could have gone either way. Guess we just were a little luckier." And then he too offered a handshake and a friendly smile.

"Yeah, I graduated in the summer so I just started college. Honestly, I wouldn't have thought i'd be going to college but here I am." And actually not doing too bad, surprisingly.

Jude gave a round of handshakes freely. He'd practiced handshakes before. He knew how to do them properly. Wolfgang, on the other hand, was far more hesitant, squinting down at the offered hands before finally taking each one in turn and giving them a shake.

His hand was cold to the touch, like something that had been in freezing water for a long, long time.

"I wouldn't chalk it just up to luck," Jude said. "You were a faster artist as well." He wasn't going to comment on their partners guessing skills, because... well, they'd both done fine, hadn't they?

Jude gave Kaliyan another handshake, and then moved the conversation on.

"I still haven't quite decided what I'm doing for that. I guess it's kind of assumed someone on the student council will? Only I really haven't... given much thought to what to do after. The college life's pretty much the same as the high school one, yeah?"

While everyone was talking Dane sort of just sat down on the ground and started drawing something. Or rather someone, since most of his sketches were of the spirits he saw. But for now it was just a wispy form of a dress he was working on.

Aso had a determined look on his face and shook both of their hands, refusing to react to Wolfgang's extremely cold hand. He wanted to hold on until Wolfgang made the motion to release the handshake. Kal though actually flinched at the cold touch of Wolfgang's hand. "Sorry, i'm just not a huge fan of the cold," he apologized and then returned his attention to Jude.

Jude was not a sore loser from what Kal could tell. Actually the guy was pretty friendly. He smiled, relaxed despite the minor storm that was always buried deep below his surface. "The only difference between college and highschool life for me is the schedule. I can spend more time at work if I want and fit my classes in a little better. Pretty sure you don't have to do college if you don't want though, Student Council or not. Plenty of other options and you can always go back to school later."

"It's fine," Wolfgang said, "I'm used to it."

He was. He was always cold, even if he had no actual powers about it. It was just a natural part of who he was, like someone being double jointed.

"That's good to know at least," Jude said. "It seemed like there's not all that much change outside of not wearing uniforms anymore." Well, that and more freedom. Jude's schedule was already pretty relaxed thanks to his memory, after all.

"Maybe I'll see you in some of my classes next year, or around the school in general. It was nice meeting you, and thanks for the challenge!"

Wolfgang didn't give a formal goodbye, but he did give a quick nod to those that had shown up. Jude would wait for Kaliyan's own goodbyes, and then headed out himself.

"Sure, i'll see you around the school probably. I'm doing business stuff but there's a bunch of general classes with all majors in them. I had fun with this thing and I'd be happy to show you around the college some... once I finish learning my way around it," Kal chuckled. It wasn't that hard to get around the school really but he figured it was still a nice offer.

Kal and Aso waved at Wolfgang and Jude but Dane was too busy drawing. As Jude and Wolfgang began leaving Aso went to look at Dane's drawing. "Wait is that the same one as last time?" Dane shook his head. "Well I think we have some time now, tell us a little about her Dane," Kaliyan said as he sat down next to the boy. The challenge was over but it seemed like the three of them were going to hang out a little bit longer.
