Tag and pick-the-flower and.. and.. hide-or-seek and hopscotch and rope-jump. She had most definitely mixed up the signs for jump rope, but she skipped along into the hallway, peering upward.

Are you my mommy? She had a daddy, and now she needed a mommy. She stared upward at the lady, waiting.

Tamara fell quiet in thought as she decided what to play. She couldn't possibly play jump rope, tag, or hopscotch. It wasn't very much but she didn't like tiring herself out too much because of her asthma and she'd rather not risk too much of that. The entire time she had been thinking though, she was watching Faeyt's movements as she skipped along the hall. She looked like the active kind.

She heaved a soft sigh when she finally decided she wouldn't have much of a choice but to play hopscotch. It was something she could keep her eye on the child and it would probably keep her from getting board. But right before she could even sign her response, Faeyt dropped a question she never expected.

Are you my mommy?

Normally, the parasite was always unfazed about any question thrown at her but that was one question she never expected. Two thousand years and she's never had a child or even fathered one in any instance. A little color rose up to her face as she tried to hide getting flustered with a smile she could manage.

"Oh, no, sweetie. I'm not mommy. Maybe she's with daddy?"

Tamara didn't know what she was saying. or signing. She obviously didn't know the child enough to know she wasn't asking if she was her mom: she was asking her to be her mom.

No. Are you my mommy? Don't have a mommy.

The child furrowed her brow, staring up at the lady. She tilted her head to one side, biting her lip. I want a mommy.

She bounced on her feet, hands stuffing into her pockets as she watched the lady, as they neared one of the many hopscotch squares.

The child did not understand how to play, but she had seen the older children jumping from square to square - that was what she wanted to do.

Needless to say, Tamara just looked at the little fae child, at a loss for words.

For the first time in forever centuries, she didn't know how to respond. Her mind was suddenly racing with thoughts about how to approach the situation. The child wanted a mother, okay — but she had a father. With that in mind, Tamara knew enough it wasn't going to be up to her to "volunteer" being her mother. That meant a lot of legal processes — and she means a lot. Adoptions were one thing but .... marriage.

Tamara came to a full stop just as they reached the playground where the hopscotch squares were. 'Marriage? Ha ha ha, what on earth? Why did that ever come up?' she thought to herself. If she could get any paler than she normally did, she would. For what reason, Tamara never actually thought into it. The idea of marriage almost always made her nervous.

Tamara shook her head. No, she wasn't going to think of that. Brushing the question away for a second, she turned to Faeyt to ask, "Do you know how to play hopscotch, dear?" she signed as she stepped closer to one of the patterns on the ground.
