Selkiris’s smile only grew at Emerald getting slightly flustered. The girl just seemed to make Selkiris happy for some odd reason. He wasn’t against the feeling though, it was too long since he had been like this.

Selkiris felt his cheeks warm at Emerald calling him special. Was he blushing? He thought he had lost that feeling centuries ago. “W-Well it is good to have people to trust. I’m happy to be one of those people for you. And if you ever wanted to talk you could stop by the library, I rarely have anything to do so it is nice to have some distractions.” Selkiris was now seeming to talk before he could even properly think about what was going on.

"Really? I would love to stop by!" Emerald shook her flustered feelings out, and ended up clasping her hands at her chest in happiness at the thought. One thing she loved was meeting people in their home enviroments, in places where they were most comfortable or spent most of their time. While she wasn't sure if the library was that sort of place for Selkiris, perhaps it would still be a nice place to meet him again.

"Sunshine says I need to read more... I tend to avoid it, especially because my school books can get a little boring. Maybe you could show me some books I might like, and then I'll like it a little better!"

Selkiris couldn’t help but smile at Emerald’s happy little gestures. When she got happy, Selkiris couldn’t help but feel happy as well. “Reading is extremely important so I do agree with your brother on this. I would be happy to help you find some reading material that you would enjoy, I’m sure there is plenty of books out there that would interest you.” Selkiris then just got a buzz the watch he was currently wearing. “Oh dear speaking of which it appears my shift is stating soon. It was a wonderful pleasure meeting you Emerald and I do hope we can do something like this again.” Selkiris bowed before suddenly vanishing as he has teleported away.

"Oh! Alright! It was a pleasure meeting you as -"

Before she could finish her sentence, Selkiris had vanished. She was taken aback by this, having expected him to just walk off, so she stood for a moment just staring at the place he had previously been in. However, after overcoming her shock, she shrugged it off and walked over to the violets they had previously been discussing. Kneeling down, she smiled as she listened to their tinkling little voices, a pleasant noise to add on to a pleasant afternoon. She spoke absentmindedly to herself as she watched the sun pour over them.

"He seemed nice... and it's strange... he already feels like a friend. Like someone I can trust."

How strange.

With that, she stood up, dusted off her knees, and continued her walk through the forest, humming as she went.
