That was strange. Davis could only wonder why the beast attacked the girl, but not him. Had the wolf sensed the magic in the musket, or was he-or she-too preoccupied with attacking the girl? It was hard to tell in such dark conditions. He kept the musket raised, until he caught a glimpse of the beast's face. There was something...off about it. It was something that Davis couldn't put his finger on.

He dared not move, in case it went to attack him. He was capable of defending himself, but he still didn't want to take that kind of risk.

He was about to back off and get to safety, when a great howl rose from the beast. Davis clapped his hands over his ears to try and block out the terrible sound and, in his anguish and haste, dropped the musket on the ground. It, thankfully didn't go off. What a pain that would have been.

Max gasped loudly "Oh jeez!" she whispered loudly through gritted teeth. She watched the wolf smack the girl to the ground with such a force only the strongest person, which did not look like this frail girl, could pick themselves up. And this girl shouldn't. Should not be able to. The force was incredible, at least a broken leg... at the veryleast. 'Don't stand up, don't move. Just do something.'
She turned to the boy that was accompanying him, 'Do something to help her!' she screamed in her head. Then she realised she had begun to aim her bow and arrow at the tree in front of the werewolf's eyes, in a hope to feebly attempt to distract him and heroically save the day and get the injuredgirl out of the forest. She was obviously not strong enough to handle the beasts and nature of the woods, and neither was Max, but she knew a little more than this girl.
Her fingers began to relax and she could feel her breathing go slow and deep as to not jolt the aim of the arrow... She prepared herself to let go.
Thwonk!
The arrow hit the tree and her eyes widened as if she had just felt reality snap her to life. She was going to regret this for sure.

<div align=center>When the girl went down, the creature turned away, disinterested, she wasn't even half a meal, he snarled when something struck a tree next to him, turning and grabbing the shaft of the arrow in his jaws. It snapped as if it were made of glass, splintering as he brought his jaws together. His head turned to try and figure out where that had come from, his eyes came across a girl perched on a branch. She thought she was safe. Obi would change that, he wanted to eat her, he was starving and every fiber of his being was craving human flesh. He pushed himself forward, dropping to all fours again, and colliding hard with the trunk of the tree, his shoulder crashing against the bark. It had hurt him, and he'd yelped, but the tree had shaken above him and a shower of leaves had rained down on his back. The animal took a moment, panting hard and staring up into the branches of the tree, teeth bore in an unpleasant snarl. I want to kill you. He shifted and slammed himself against the trunk again, he'd climb it if he could, but the way he was built in this form was too large and cumbersome to be able to do that. He paced away, prowling toward the boy with the gun.

He lowered his head, and his hackles slowly rose on his neck. His eyes fixed themselves to Davis', before briefly flickering to the gun. He didn't like that gun. Silver. Silver. Silver. He wanted to chase. He wanted someone to run. That's what he was waiting for, he wouldn't attack until someone ran, this was becoming a game to him. He snapped at the boy, his teeth coming together with a loud clack merely inches from his face, he wanted to try and get him away from that damn gun. That gun was dangerous. He might have been mindless in this state, but he was smart, he had the mind of a hunter and that's what he wanted to do, hunt. No one had run yet. No one had made forward to save the girl.

He turned back again toward the girl, his jaws closing around the back of her shirt. The material tore, he snapped at her throat again, just missing, letting her dodge it, it wasn't clear whether that was intentional or not. A stream of saliva left the corner of his mouth, dripping down to the top of poor Claire's head. The creature lurked protectively over her, like a lion protecting it's kill, but she wasn't dead... Whether he believed she was his prey or not was a completely different matter.</div>

The smell. The way he eye balled her, making sure that she didn't do anything. This creature, this thing that had hurt her, smelt horrid. It was all she could do. She could move a bit more, but she couldn't escape. She could call for help, with this beast watching her every move. Was he going to kill her? Maybe. She just made her eyes follow wherever the beast went. She didn't want to get hurt anymore, she was already in more pain then she could handle at the moment. She looked down and felt a pain in her mid section, to her left. Something felt broken.

She probably had a broken rib or two. She closed her eyes, trying the ease the pain, to not think about it. Why hadn't he killed her yet? It was probably to get the other two people to come out, to safe the helpless girl. She didn't want them to save her, if they could get hurt. In other thought though, she knew that she couldn't just stay there. She just had to wait, wait for something to happen.

She had never been this vulnerable, this stupid, in her entire life. It made her angry at herself, for pretty much just walking into a trap, a death sentence. Claire looked around, trying to see if she was any better, which she wasn't. She decided that she was going to try to do something, anything, other then being helpless. She moved her arm, slowly to her lap and stared at the beast. That was as good as if got in the state she was in.

Yeah, you better be scared! Davis immediately mentally facepalmed for having though such a stupid threat. Thank goodness werewolves weren't telepathic. That would make things far more awkward.

Of course, he had better things to do. On the instruction of the bow-wielder, he dropped to his knees and took aim, not at the wolf, but a tree trunk close by. It was a long shot, and he had no idea if it would work, but it may just scare the wolf away.

At the same time, he reached into his jacket pocket, withdrawing a white handkerchief and rubbing his thumb over the soft surface. He muttered an incantation no-one could hear, imbuing the piece of cloth with as strong a healing enchantment as he could muster.

Once he was satisfied with the strength of the enchantment, he pulled the trigger. A bolt of bronze energy launched itself from the barrel, colliding with the tree trunk. He shifted the barrel to point it at the wolf. If only it would move, he could help his first victim.

"Don't kill it!," Max screeched. That was pure greed. The whole human race was made of greed, want, jealousy and ignorance. What were they going to do with a dead werewolf, it's not like you could eat it, and being at a perfectly funded school with food there was no need to eat it anyway. She stepped back steadying herself, this bow was amazing. She was using the one Zachary had given her and this was the first time it had been used in life or death. It was heavy and large and she had to regain her strength each time she fired, but this as terrifying as it was gave her great practice and would increase her stamina that she had lost since staying here.
"Injure it and then get away. Are you stupid?" She shouted towards the others. It wasn't like people weren't going to find the body if they did kill it, it's not something you could hide within a couple of minutes. Max didn't know of anywhere to get limestone from either. It sped up the decomposition of dead bodies. If any one of them could read her thoughts she was screwed. She pushed this thought aside and made sure there was no one that could interfere with their petty attempts at defending themselves.
