Leo and Caus's relaxing day

Leo was relaxing on the couch, reading a delightful book about a kid who's dad was a serial killer. Well, not delightful in a upbeat way, but it was an interesting story. He was pretty happy to get a little bit of reading time before Causper came in. Yeah, he liked her, but she really liked to snuggle with Leo a lot. Mostly in his lion form to, which also got annoying when he was trying to read. For being a spider demon, she sure acted like a typical girl. Well, at least she was nicer then most people. Or willing to help others rather then watch. Where was she though? Leo peaked out from the book, looking around to see if he could spot her somewhere.

Causper sighed, leaning back heavily against the door to close it. When she'd signed up for this, she hadn't expected the training to be so intensive. It was like studying to be a jack of all trades. At least she'd been able to convince Leo to move to the island with her. Well. Finn had. After she had interrupted him.

With another sigh, Causper shed layers on her way to the living room, flopping down on the sofa with her head on Leo's lap, topless and barefoot. That's how he could tell she wasn't much up for anything but a nap. Until her stomach gargled. Another heavy sigh.

Huh, Causper doesn't usually shed clothes like this in front of Leo. Well, she does sometimes, but not usually like this. The training must have been quite hard on her. Understandable, given that she isn't a normal student but a staff member at her age. Could create a lot of stress. Though, the stomach growl was a bit amusing, it was sad to see her lay down on his lap worn out.

"So, guess that the training is a bit of a pain. Need me to help with anything?"

Setting the book down, Leo placed a hand on her head, hoping to comfort her a little. There were a few times that Leo read a book rather then talk with people, but now didn't seem like a good time for that.

Causper closed her eyes and let out an exhausted groan. She never said anything about it, but even the moments like this where she was completely exhausted were worth the time spent away.

"No, it's fine. It was mostly lessons and paperwork today. What bothers me is that I can't see anyone off island. And I don't mean that like there's no outside connection. I'm sure I could send letters or call, but I can't see them."

Causper turned, resting on her side facing away from Leo.

"They should be fine, right?"

Leo nodded, even though Causper wasn't looking at him. He wasn't sure if her abilities would be able to get past this place, what with all of the other magic users and magical creatures here.

"Well, I think for now they should be. We can take a trip in a few months back out to check up on everyone. We came here knowing that we won't be able to visit them as often, and we will have to hope that we made a good enough impact on them."

Causper nodded. Leo voiced what she was hesitant to ask about. They would be fine. Enclaire would keep an eye on them. And when she was finished with her training, she could send out invitations to all of them.
“Enclaire will call me if something goes horribly wrong. They’ll be fine. They’ll be fine.." Causper echoed herself, voice expressing the concern she was trying to keep hidden. The girl looked up at Leo, blue eyes staring into his soul. “Do you ever miss your parents?”

Leo patted Causper's head, leaning back and thinking. Did he miss them....?
"Honestly, I'm not really sure. I guess I missed the old days when they weren't trying too kill me. But I don't really know what I'd do if they were alive. I mean, life turned out well so far, but.... No, I guess I'm not that sure if I do. In the end, that doesn't really matter. All that does is that we are here, and make the best of the situation."

"You know what we should do?"

Causper sat up and stretched, working the last of her exhaustion away.

"We should find ourselves a cute little bookstore. Someplace to just chill, you know? Like the american teens do?"

Did american teens hang out in bookstores? It seemed plausible. In the movies it was usually a library though. Oh well. Bookstores had fewer people, so they could be free to just buy a couple books and stay all day. even better if they had a coffee shop nearby.
