"Thank the fates, you are okay," Celeste breathed in relief when Ebviony spoke, blinking back tears as she suddenly reached out again and gave them another quick hug. The extra hug was more just to reassure her that everything was alright. Celeste had been so scared that her spell had affected them somehow.

Sitting down on the ground cross-legged beside Ebviony. Celeste shook her head. "It's fine... The ritual is not that important, don't worry about that," she began, clearly not upset that they had interrupted her.

"I am not even sure Lughnasadh cares or takes notice anymore," she confessed as she looked at the altar in the distance for a second, before turning her attention back to Ebvion. "The important thing is that you and your friends are alright," she said very truthfully.

It took several moments for Ebvion to calm himself down. To think and realize what was happening and what had happed. Having Celeste hug him and show how much she cared was nice. If she really wanted to hurt him or his friends, she wouldn't have moved him away so quickly.

He was certainly surprised that she didn't immediately suspect his friends as being bad influences. They were affected by the cleansing spell. They were, according to the ritual, negative energies. But that didn't mean they were bad.

"I wasn't hurt. Only my friends... But we're okay. They're only a little angry." And distrustful of Celeste, but Ebvion ignored those whispers.

Trying to not focus on what just happened, Ebvion's eyes followed Celeste's quick glance to the altar. "Why would Lughna... uh... Lugh-na-sa-dh not care? I'd care if someone did a ritual for me." What kind of being was so selfish that they wouldn't care that they were being worshipped? Those who are the types who deserve to be forgotten and lose their power and influence in the process.

Celeste just nodded her head in understanding when Ebvion said his friends were a little bit upset. She had not actually considered them as being negative forces before now. She knew she would have to keep that in mind whenever she did a cleansing spell in the future.

At Ebvion's innocent question about Lughnasadh, Celeste pursed her lips for a second as she considered how to explain what she had meant.

"I know you would, and so would I if I were a god," Celeste confessed as she lightly brushed a piece of Ebviony's hair back a little. "And maybe I misspoke and Lughnasadh does care, I don't really know. It just seems like over time their influence has become less visible... perhaps it's because fewer people worship them, and they are not as strong as they used to be." she conceded thoughtfully.

That was an unnerving thought. Losing power because people stopped worshipping you, even if you cared about everyone you were helping.

"Do you... Do you think that will happen to me? My court's not as strong anymore... and I'm the Monarch now... Will I get weaker if I don't save Mommy and the other kids fast enough?"

"I honestly don't know, sweetheart," Celeste admitted as she flashed Ebviony a look of concern mixed with compassion. "Did your mother require worship from those around her to do her magic or run her kingdom? Or was she just like, well, like me, your brothers, or grandpa Rafael?" she said, trying to think of an analogy.

"Witches and many other magical creatures don't need worship to do magic, maybe you are like that?" she told Ebviony with a hopeful look.

On some level, Ebvion understood that Celeste wasn't a well of infinite knowledge. She was a person with limited information like most others. So hearing her say that she doesn't know something as important as thing discouraged Ebvion. He wanted reassurance and got none.

"I don't think so. We always had kids around if that's what kept her powered... When our court was destroyed, there wasn't anyone there, but her powers were transferred to me." Going off that kind of logic, it didn't sound like worship was needed. "I think worshipping helps. There's no Monarch without their people."

He looked down at the floor and clenched his jaw in thought. He had barely any citizens (that he did not make). It wasn't good to let things go on like this for so long.

Celeste understood what Ebviony meant and sympathized with them. She knew there were also no kingdoms without kings or queens either, nor gods without worshippers. She had not quite understood how much it had meant to them until today.

"I wish I could help you in some way," Celeste said as she looked at Ebviony. "Would building you an altar help?" she asked, truly wanting to understand them a lot better. She had been only told the bare minimum when she adopted Ebviony, and it was not until recently that they had started trusting Celeste more and opening up to her something which she was very grateful for.

Ebvion tilted his head at Celeste. If she wanted to help, an altar wasn't what he needed. Or was it? He wasn't sure if that would be useful. Better to try it out than to not.

"Um... I don't know. Maybe. I think... If I tell you something, will you keep it a secret? And don't get angry... or get me in trouble." He didn't think that what he was working on was bad, but it was something that others might misunderstand if they didn't let him explain it.

"Yes, of course, I can keep a secret, and whatever it is I promise not to tell anybody else or become angry with you," Celeste promised, curious now to know what Ebviony considered so important that he was afraid she'd be angry with them.
