She stood before her mirror in her room, staring at her reflection. She had put on a light bit of makeup, a rare thing for her, her lips were shiney with gloss, and light pink. A light line of black circled her eyes, making then stand out even more. She nibbled on her lip. Trephas would probably be waiting for her down stairs, but she wasn't ready to do down. Mentally, that is.

Her hair was curled to frame her face, hairsprayed down so that it wouldn't whip around with her mind, and she smiled experimentally. A few things levitated off of her dresser with her nerves. Was it a date? Or just a friendly thing? They hadn't really cleared that up. She adjusted her flowy skirt, a patch work skirt with swirls of red, purple, blue, and black, that reached her knees. Typical to her style, she wore a pair of black converse high tops.

She focused on the levitation objects. 'Down. Down..'

Trephas was in his dorm. Chester wasn't here, and that made him happy, though he wondered if his roommate was going to the party? He shrugged. His hair was combed, though not very neat. He wore just some black jeans, and a long sleeved black shirt, but he wear a pale brown duster, what some cowboys wore. He got it when he was younger but it was always too big for him, but now he fit in it perfectly. He wore brown leather boots that went to his knees.

He sighed, and looked at a mirror that was there, and he sighed, once more. He rubbed his hands together, then he went to the door, but then turned around and then reached up and grabbed a red rose, and then went out and walked through the halls, in till he reached the lounge. There weren't many people here, some he bet were also waiting. He looked around the room, searching for Lex, but she didn't seem to be there.

I hope everything goes well, he thought, and closed his eyes, thinking over a few things.

Lex sighed. Time to go down. She turned, turning off her light, and as she moved away from the levitating objects, they rested back down on the dresser top. She opened her door, and bounded down the stairs, as though she had not a care in the world. She stopped when she saw Trephas, slightly surprised at her own reaction. 'Just friends, until he deems otherwise...If he does..' she coached herself mentally, then continued her decent, til she was at the bottom of the stairs. Trephas had his eyes closed. "You ready to go, Trephas?" she called in her customarily cheerful voice, no traces of the things going through her mind on the outside. She continued to smile, even though an even more startling thing came into her mind, 'I wonder if Eben told him..'

His eyes opened upon hearing Lex's voice. He turned around to face her and smiled. She was beautiful like always. "Yes, I'm ready." He said, smiling. "You look lovely tonight." He said politely.

And he lifted up the rose to her. "Here, Happy Valentines day." He said friendly. He felt a bit nervous, he has never gone to anything like this with someone, only his family, not someone he cared about as much as her.He realized his parents won't approve of this, they still live in the older times, it seems, and a boy and girl were never to be left alone, though, Trephas never really knew why it was a big deal, since he was only three when he came into this world.

Lex smiled widely when he offered her the rose, and she took it, breathing deeply. "Thank-you Trephas. It's beautiful." she glanced up at him with shining eyes, pure adoration leaking through her gaze for just a moment, before it was masked. "I'm going to put it in water now so it won't wilt." she added, floating the rose up to her room, where she moved the vase, turned on the water, filled the vase, and placed it on her dresser, rose within the water, all with her mind. Then she smiled again, breaking out of her concentration with the task finished. "There. I'm all done." she said again, softly.

She desperately wanted to tell him how much he'd grown on her, how much she cared for him, but her fear of being hurt held her back. She realized that she'd been looking up at him steadily since she last spoke, so she shifted her gaze to her feet. 'Feelings just mess up everything.' she told herself, continuing to stare at her feet.

He watched, amazed. "I wish I could do that, but I'm afraid my powers are draining, and I don't know why." He said, simply, then shrugged. But his powers were draining,, he felt weaker in his powers that he was hoping would get stronger, not weaker.

"Well if your done putting the rose away, then shall we be on are way?" He asked her, holding up his arm, which was a polite way when going to a place with someone, like going to a dance or anything, and he was taught by his father, since he hadn't lived long enough where he was truly born to be taught.

Lex frowned when he made the comment about his powers draining. That bothered her for more reasons than one, but she didn't say anything. What could you say to something like that? Then he offered her his arm so that she didn't have to. She took his arm in the proper way, and waited for him to start walking before following his lead. Then she wondered, once again, if Trephas knew that she knew about his past, or if he didn't. She didn't want to keep it from him, and risk him finding out and not trusting her, and judging by how Eben had reacted, she wasn't sure that she wanted to be the one to tell him. She wasn't smiling at the moment, and it was rather obvious that she was thinking about something, because her face was completely straight.

Trephas started walking when Lex took his arm. And he thought for a moment. Eben told him, told him about everything, Eben always told him everything about, bad thing is for Eben that he constantly sees it, over and over again, and feels the pain and anger he felt over, and over again. He looked at Lex, and smiled. He knew she was thinking, maybe about the past she found out.

"Don't worry... Eben told me that you found that book... But I don't really care, my parents would, and some of my family. But most of us don't even remember that time, that not many of us care much..." He said, in a dull tone, none of his family, or mostly speaking of his family who are only his age, or younger, wouldn't care. He knew Glass, would have a huge fit, but would get over it, she was old enough to remember there old home, but then Fury, he would get so angry, that he destroy something.

Lex glanced up at Trephas, and smiled slightly. "Am I so transparent that you know what I'm thinking now?" she asked him, cocking her head to the side. She didn't really need an answer. "But I'm glad he told you, and I'm glad you don't care...I don't know what I'd do if you were as angry as Eben was." she breathed out a sigh. She wasn't proud of her reaction to Eben that day. She glanced back up at Trephas and grinned. "Well, we're off to a real good start. Why don't we take a detour past the Hospital wing? I hear some aliens attacked."

"I don't like being angry, I try to avoid that, unlike my older brother... Eben told me he had gotten angry, angrier then usual, though, not as angry as my brother would get." He said simply, continuing to walk. e laughed at what she said next. "Aliens? Sure, if aliens did something then I want to find out what they did." He said smiling. Why bring up aliens? He wondered if they really did exist, his parents told him that there was no such thing, but he watched the show called The X-files, he loved those, though, Tear freaked out, and he even got scared sometimes.
