Classes in the gym were quite honestly Kuro’s most favorite without contest. While some thought was still required, she didn’t have to force her brain to think too much, as that usually just resulted in an unpleasant headache instead, anyway. And physical activity came to her way easier, too.

Though there was just one bit of criticism she had for this particular class. She could not choose what sort of physical activity to do. The teacher would give an explicit task and the students would practice that. So for today, it was martial arts. Something that was completely out of the girl’s skillset.

If it was running or simple exercises like weight lifting or squats, she was very confident in herself. This? Something that required proper technique? There was no reason for her to know anything about martial arts. She never had to fight anyone and she wasn’t particularly keen on getting hurt herself, either.

Still, she had to pass the class somehow. Facing off a punching bag, she was doing her best to perform a high kick. Others made it looks so easy, so why was her aim so awfully off? Her body was quite flexible, so it made absolutely no sense to her.

Or perhaps it was the fact that instead of focusing, she was merely gathering frustration and channeling it through her leg without direction. Regardless, she was doing quite poorly. “Tsk, no way this’ll ever be useful…” she ended up muttering to herself.

Although athletics was merely Ria's minor physical activities were closer to her heart than the magic theory, that was her major. Even though Ria studied it for herself and her sisters she would've gone crazy had she always stayed reading in a library memorizing magic circles or components of spells. In which case having classes such as the one she was currently in was a relief, a break from constant study.

Today's assigned task was within Ria's area of expertise, and although she was in her true smaller form Ria was able to perform the given moves with ease. Ria liked order and routine, and she felt accomplished whenever she was able to perform skillfully.
But apparently not everyone in this class excelled in martial arts. Ria stopped during the high kicks to look at a girl with ears and a tail, she was clearly struggling with the exercise. The teacher had explained the basics before, but perhaps just hearing it wasn't enough.

Ria looked over at the teacher, he was busy with another student, still not seeing the girl's struggles. Ria sighed and scratched her head. The teacher had asked her to do some simple instructing during a class before, since Ria was blunt and got her point through easily and quickly. Even if she comes out rude.
Well, everything is a challenge, that was what Ria thought when she walked over to the girl, her ears twitching a bit.

As Ria got close she heard the girl muttering to herself, and Ria raised a brow at her words. Ria stopped close to the girl and cleared her throat.
"You gain more from this task than just the ability to perform a high kick."
She said, her voice clear, and Ria had her hands on her hips. It was probably weird to see someone who was barely one meter tall talking about "high" kicks. Someone barely one meter tall with light blue fur, long blonde hair in a ponytail, wearing a dark grey sports bra and black gym shorts. But at least Ria looked muscular and competent.
"You learn how to keep you core steady while keeping your limbs limber, how to properly tense the right muscles to get most impact out of a hit. And you clearly don't have those down."

So much for impressing anyone. Getting somewhere with the one and only thing the girl was competent at was a bit of Kuro’s dream as of late. But given the current situation, it might have just been more of wishful thinking than anything else. As few beads of sweat trailed down her caramel-colored skin, she finally stopped and sighed.

It felt like her soul was being crushed by something heavy whenever she was unable to do something, easy to build up frustration that only allowed her to mess up more. At this point, she planned to maybe have a staring contest with the very bland punching bag until she would be enlightened. A plan that clearly did not come into fruition.

She was instead interrupted by a voice coming from her side, prompting the black dog’s fiery eyes to trail horizontally toward it and spot… nothing. At least until a little something manifested itself in the corner of her vision, driving the gaze lower and onto the actual individual trying to talk to her. Suffice to say, Kuro’s response to this was as rude as always.

Da hell are ye?!” Someone trying to talk to the loner that Kurome was was about the last thing the girl herself expected. Especially in a class like this. And a person she had never seen before. Not to mention that it felt like she was being heavily criticized, even if she could not fully wrap her head around it anyway. It still made her give a wary look to Ria.

And they said Ria was rude. The girl's initial reaction left a lot to be desired, but it wasn't like Ria couldn't understand her frustration. Ria also got frustrated and annoyed when her body wouldn't move as she wished and when she couldn't learn things quickly.
But at the end of the day Ria was used to rudeness, and didn't even bat an eye at the girl's reaction. Instead she glanced towards the teacher, yes, still busy, and then she glanced back at the girl.

"I'm someone with extensive skill and knowledge about this class' topic, and I'm willing to give you advice on how to fix what you are doing wrong. Which in this case is nearly anything."
Ria huffed a bit, and swiped some hair off her face.
"Feel free to refuse my help, but from the looks of it the teacher won't be able to help in a while, and I can tell that you want to do this right. Will you keep staring at the punching bag and waiting for answers that will never come, or should I tell you how you should position your legs?"
When you are blunt you also get blunt answers. That much Ria had learned during her life, and that was how she was being now. Although Ria was attempting to dial down the rudeness and be more factual and on the point.

Staring at the small creature in mild disbelief, Kurome just wasn’t sure what to think or say. It was not that she wanted to be rude, or that she had something against pixies or any other races. To put it bluntly, she just didn’t know how to deal with other living beings in general. Especially when they approached her on their own.

But in the end, her defensive nature was what kicked into gear, as was usually the case. “I dunno what yer talking about! Don’t get all high and mighty now, I know what I’m doin’ just fine!” Turning toward the bag, she would hop back a bit and then try to perform the high kick again. Only it ended up being more of a knee right into the bag.

Something that could quite possibly be effective in a real fight without rules, nobody wanted a knee slamming into their stomach at that power. But it definitely was not what was expected right now. And yet, the black dog turned toward the other woman with a self-satisfied smirk like she performed better than anyone in the room.
See? Ain’t nothin’ bad about dat! If that were a person, they’d dropped to the knees by now!

This person was a piece of work, clearly. Ria could feel her irritation rising, but with an iron will she forced it back down, it would only worsen the situation if she clashed with this person in words. So better do it in a way with which the message truly got through.
"Your technique says otherwise."
Ria said with calm sternness about her, when the girl performed a high-kick on the bag. Well, it was a knee kick, which they were not doing at the moment, and the girl's stance was still riddled with holes.

The smirk on the girl's face made Ria raise her brow, so this person thought they were all that? Ria was ready to prove her wrong. She walked past the girl and next to the punching bag, and she turned to the girl. Ria widened her stance, and looked at the girl with a challenge in her eyes.
"Perform that kick on me. Aim at my head, that way it will be a high-kick. You must be able to manage that if there 'ain't nothin' bad' about your kick. And I will stop you."
There was no hesitation in Ria's voice, like she was 100% sure she would be able to stop the girl's kick. And yet she was just standing there, her arms at her sides, seemingly all muscles lose.

Kurome had seen plenty of people on the campus and even in the city that always acted all high and mighty even if they were nothing special. And sometimes even if they were, the condescending tones they would take was always something that irked her. And while this shorty wasn’t really like that, it was just similar enough for the black dog to be reminded of those individuals.

This made her roll her eyes and scratched her furry ear a bit, almost tugging on one of the golden piercings that she had in it. She wasn’t exactly interested in someone else bragging about how superior they were, anyhow. But then she got quite surprised when this other girl actually put forth a bit of a challenge. There was only one problem that Kuro had to address.

Are ya insane! Like hell I’d fall for dat trick. Ya gonna say ya’ll stop me, but then ya wont and da teacher will kick me out of da class again. No way! Not gonna trick me dis time, dammit! I’m tired of folk tryin’ to make me look like some sorta delinquent!
