why do I even bother?
That was Elizabeth's first thought as she looked around the Cafeteria for a seat. As far as she could see all the tables where taken. She wasn't really the type to be social and talk to someone over lunch so she was hoping there would be a spare table. She didn't think she could just ask to sit at someones table with them. Her cruel and somewhat cold attitude didn't exactly earn her many friends. Not that she was complaining. That's actually why she acted the way she did. So people would stay clear.

Her eyes landed on the only free table left. Letting out a sigh of relief she quickly marched over to the table and took her seat not so genitally placing her tray on the table in front of her. She let out a sigh as she began to eat her food that she was only just sure was edible. She really didn't like being here.

Ania had decided to hole up in the cafeteria for a change. To her, the room always had the a fragrant combination of musty teenaged boys and burned food, an odor she did not often embrace so willingly. However, she was running low on funds and was growing tired of canned food. Ania's lips pursed when she saw the menu that was up. It didn't seem like there was a huge selection, but what did she care? It was a bit better than the metallic taste of ravioli once again. Picking up a tray, she opted for the safest option - a simple sandwich - and scanned the crowds for an open spot.

A normally social creature, Ania turned down the openings at tables she was familiar with, and chose an empty table. However, as she approached it, another person quickly sat there before she could claim it. Shrugging it off, Ania hoped that the stranger wouldn't mind their privacy being encroached on. Slapping her tray down as an announcement of her arrival, she plopped herself down and stared across the table at her new friend. Well, friend-that-needed-to-be-made. She was pretty enough, brown all over and normal looking. No crazy colours like so many others here, and a stark contrast to her own snow white hair and red eyes. "Hi! I'm Ania. Are you new?"

At the sound of the tray being slapped down onto the table Elizabeth's head shot up to look at the cause of such noise. Her eyes fell upon a girl who was sitting down on a chair across the table looking at her. First thing she noticed about the girl was the eyes. They where a startling red and for some reason made Elizabeth feel uneasy. Next thing she noticed was the hair. It was long and white, or was it light gray?

"what's it to you?" she responded to Ania's question with another question. She raised her foot so it rested on her chair and her knee was close to her. She grabbed some dried bread off her tray and began to eat it. Elizabeth wasn't the social type. That was for sure. Honestly she got this occasional person who would come up and be friendly to her. She knew that if she acted cold that person would feel uncomfortable and leave. But for some reason she had a felling it wouldn't work this time.

Ania felt a little put off by the prickly reply, but she made no move to get up. She decided she wanted to sit here, and damnit, she was going to sit here. Picking apart her sandwich in silence, Ania carefully separated the bread from the insides, squinting suspiciously at a slab of greyish-brown meat. Her nose wrinkled as her mind failed to pin any name to the type of meat, and she carefully separated the squishy meat and the soggy bread, suddenly unsure of whether she actually wanted to eat it or not. It certainly didn't look edible, anyway.

"I wish the food was just a bit more edible here, what even is this meat?" Holding up the dripping grey slab, Ania inspected it from its position in the air. It wiggled slightly from the draft of a passing student, and Ania dropped it back into it's congealing juice with a wet plop. "I'm hungry, what have you got?"

At least Elizabeth could agree with Ania about something. The food really was crap. Actually she had somewhat started to get use to the bland taste of the cafeteria food. She looked down at her own meal. She had ordered soup with a little bread on the side. As a result she got watery stuff and somewhat burnt bread. But food was food.

"Even if it does taste like crap you should probably still eat it. Your not getting any of mine." She stated simply eating a mouthful of her own food. Her face scrunched up at the bland taste. "trust me I'm doing you a favor." She continued to eat the food anyways. What she gotta keep her strength. whats with so many people talking to me lately? she couldn't help but wonder. Maybe its cause I am new.

Pouting fiercely, Ania looked down at her own pile of food, and back up at her new friend's. That soup looked way better than what she had gotten. "But I don't wanna eat it. I'd much rather eat that. Yours looks much better." Maybe she could convince someone to go out to eat with her later. "So where do you come from, anyway?"

Picking at her soggy bread, Ania sulked and semi-accepted that her new buddy wasn't going to give her any food. Pulling apart the saturated bread from the dry pieces, Ania slowly put one such dry piece in her mouth. Her nose wrinkled in distaste, hissing sadly at the taste. The bread seemingly soaked up even the taste of the mystery meat, and was inescapable. "But ... even the bread tastes tainted, wouldn't you rather share?"
