Danger sat on the beach, waving to a departing ship, which was barely visible against the horizon. His clothes were dripping wet, as was his back pack, but he'd managed to keep his sword and dagger above the water.

He'd swam ashore, since his captain and crew were too nervous of land at the moment, with all the world government people about. Not that he'd really had a choice. If he had a choice, he'd still be on that boat. But no. Here he was, on the beach, and pretty much forced to go back to the schooling world. Joy. Not that he'd have any trouble getting back on track. He was naturally brilliant, and whenever they ransacked ships, he always checked for books and that sort of thing, just in case.

The crew had teased him for it, but they saw now that he was smart to do so. "I'll do you justice, Captain." he muttered under his breath as the ship disapeared. He remained where he was, with no real wish to get over to his new home on the land. He shivered a bit, since being soggy in the nippy weather wasn't good, but he'd be fine. He'd braved more dangerous things in his life.

Solek had walked from the Academy and on to the beach. His trenchcoat waving in the harsh winter winds. He pulled up his collar and saw a boat in the far-off disatance. The palm trees where dying and the sun had hid behind the clouds. Then he saw a figure, it looked battered up. He slowly approached it. I wonder what he is doing out here in the cold... he thought.

He got to a point where he could see that IT was a HE. He must have come from the ship..odd why would he swim to shore though?

Having been trained to watch his back from a very young age, Danger was aware of somebody watching him, but instead of looking nervous, or anything of the sort, he calmly removed his dagger from it's hilt, polishing it calmly on his shirt, as though he was sure that he was alone. That done, he replaced his dagger on his lap, keeping it so that it was easily close on hand, and removed his gloves, wringing them out.

That finished, he continued to polish his dagger silently. When he was done sitting and being cold, he'd stand up and see who it was that was watching him, but for now he remained where he was, his keen sense of hearing tuned behind him for any sound of weaponry.

As soon as Solek saw the dagger he ducked behind a bush and called out. Who are you!? Watching his movements closely incase he had to fight or run. He was studying this new commer looking for any advantages and noting the disadvantages. Solek peeped from behind the tree and saw him polishing the dagger. Should I trust him? NO...maybe...aproach slowly but be alert people are unpredictable. he thought. He stepped out from behind the tree. The snow had started to fall and the sun came out causing him to reach for his sun glasses.

Just as he'd figured, the sight of the dagger had thrown his watcher. " ' Name's James. James O'Reilly. I'm a newly arrived student for Starlight Academy..." he paused, punctuating his speach with standing up, turning around, and assessing the boy before him. Younger than him, even if only by a bit, James figured that this kid was also a student at SA.

Out of habit, James twirled his dagger absently, not threateningly, just as something to do with his fingers. As he did so, eyes never leaving the other boy, he stooped to pick up his sword, buckling it around him one handed. "And you are.." he trailed off, leaving the sentence to be finished by the other boy.

He was to busy watching the twirling dagger and the sword on his side. Im Solek Farnor, I am a newcomer to the academy as well

He wondered what his powers where, if he had any apparent powers, His eyes dimmed behind the sunglasses. He saw this one has a good strong shadow, He must be pretty powerful if his aura is glowing like thathe thought. He did another scan, and figured that he might be a pirate.

As soon as Solek revealed his name, a grin made it's way onto his face. A slightly cocky one, as all of his smiles were, and he ceased twirling his blade for a moment, bowing deeply. "Pleased to meet you." he said calmly, eyes betraying nothing of his thoughts, as he'd been trained to do.

He stooped again, opening his bag and pulling out a soggy shirt, he began to wring it out. "I hope you don't mind.. My effects are a bit soggy at the moment" he said, more of a statement than asking the other boy for permission to do what he was already doing. If Solek objected, Danger wasn't going to listen, since it wasn't in his nature to, though it was in his nature to be a very courteous pirate.

Errrr....no problem I guess. He kept his guard up but appeared to be defensless. God, I hope my powers will kick in if things go southhe thought.

He watched the strange actions of the stranger, pulling out his things and wringing them out. He looked at his belongings. The clouds came back and it started to snow a little harder. If you want me to I can show you the way back to the Academy. He looked back and saw the building then back at James.

Danger's eyes flicked from Solek to the building and back, his eyebrow raising ever so slightly as he smirked a bit. "I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get there fine, thanks." he replied calmly, continuing to wring out clothes. He found his brown bandana with a skull on it, and he wrung it out, careful to keep the skull from view from the other boy. The last thing he needed right now was somebody ratting him out.

That job finished, James closed his bag, slinging one of the two straps over his shoulder. He had hoped for a chance to explore the ground for escape routes right away, but since he now seemed to have a companion to follow him, that would have to wait. And he was getting cold. He hoped to high heaven that the school would have a drier that he could use. A luxury that he didn't have on the ship, but that he would welcome dearly right now. He started up towards the school, glancing at Solek. "So, how long have you been here?" he questioned, mostly just being polite, since he wasn't one to turn his back and leave whomever he had just met.

He watched him wring out the rest of his cloths, something that stood out was a bandana but he disreguarded it, they started walking up the dunes when he heard
"So, how long have you been here?"
I arrived this morning, my dad brought me here. He knew james just arrived so he didnt bother with that question. He climbed up the dune and was walking on a brick path when the sun suddenly came out from behind a cloud.

Not having his sun glasses on he instintivly formed a black bubble around him and he looked inside. Psshh its not that dark in here, mother was weak and a drunkard. He grabbed his sun glasses out of a pocket and put them on and the bubble faded out. He looked back to see if James was surprised at all.
