He wasn't sure what to call this current situation. Strange, considering it had been decades since he'd had the challenge for a duel issued. Truth be told, the most approachable member of the Drakenhardt clan had been feeling less than chipper lately. Arguably petty on his end, the few jabs regarding his strength were grating on his nerves. The final straw being this sharp tongued Prax warrior woman, the person who issued this challenge. His instinctual pride wouldn't allow him to turn something like this down so easily. Especially now that he was slapped the whole "Delicate Lizard" name. What nonsense was that? Was he delicate? Maybe a little bit, but he would be damned if this name caught on with anyone else.

Setting this whole thing up was another challenge in and of itself. The two combatants parted ways before they could gain any ways of contacting each other. As for where the duel would be held, the main family manor had a training room in its basement. Thanks to the wonders of spacial magic the room itself was large enough to fit several fully grown dragons with room to fly and maneuver about. It was like an enormous cave with strategically placed boulders. The ground was even varied with inclines and small trenches. There was even a pond. The task of actually tracking Lae down was actually much simpler than he had initially anticipated. When he did find her he told her weapons were free to use, allowing her to gather whatever she needed.

"Well then Moss Head, name your terms," he called over to her, brimming with confidence.

Lae was excited to be fighting one of these giant flying lizards of fire. He didn't look like much when he was disguised, normal, she'd say. It was hard to imagine a giant lizard behind that face, but Laemiri was willing to believe anything at this point.

Oh, he was a delicate thing. She assumed they all must have been like this! Easy to offend and all huffy huffy. Lae wouldn't hold it against him, but it certainly was humorous.

Looking at the court he'd assigned for them, more extensive than she thought his manor could hold, she gave a nod of approval and a broad grin.

She carried with her a long polearm with sharp, slightly curved blades at each end along with studded notches. Something made of unknown wood or a similar material. It was polished and gleaming in the light. Despite that it was in good condition, an experienced fighter could see that it was used and used frequently. There were some knicks and the gentle hue of old blood stains.

Laemiri wasn't nervous about how hard this fight would be; she'd been an avid player of faric and sithrik back home. Two games that always ended with one or more person coughing up blood or having a bone sticking out of their skin. It was all in good fun.

When Kenny called her moss head, Laemiri laughed. She took to unwrapping her top, knowing well she'd not be allowed to walk around the city without it. So, despite not wanting to, she'd worn it here.

"Terms, Turuk'maul?" She said this in a slightly teasing tone, as though the idea alone was preposterous. "Okay."

Laemiri thought a moment, completed undressing her top and held up three fingers. "The first to get struck three times is the loser. Sound fun, yeah? These strikes cannot be in succession. Once one person is hit, we will both back off and go again."

He noted her double bladed staff, already his mind was already imagining the array of movements that she could employ. From the looks of it, it had seen its fair share of combat but ultimately was well taken care of. Kenny's own weapon was a katana, one he took special care of given its sentimental value. It was currently sheathed, but the sheath seemed to have a grip on it as well as metal plating going down its side.

The dragon's expression seemed to crack as Lae took her top off. This was something he truly was not expecting. He considered saying something, but then he'd have to deal with protests and how prudish Earth society is. This was fine, this wasn't the first time he'd fought a topless woman, but Lae was the first attractive one.

"Best to three huh? Sounds fun," electricity crackled through his hair as he assumed a low stance. For now he'd poke at her, seeing just what type of style Lae utilized. Electricity crackled through his body once more as he unsheathed his blade and tossed the scabbard aside. He began to circle her. Then around three steps into his pace he charged right in, making a wide swing with his sword to bait out an attack.

Lae grinned and nodded, watching him once the fight began. She was light on her feet, and her eyes gleamed with a certain predatory undertone. Their dark, iridescent purple color didn't help in that respect.

Laemiri didn't understand how people fought on this planet, yet, but it seemed peculiar that he would charge her with such a thin blade when she had a firmer weapon. Lae figured it was a strategy.

She was never one to take both feet off the ground near an opponent, so instead, Laemiri ducked down as smoothly as water and backed out of range of his blade, using the length of her polearm to her advantage to sweep at him, either forcing him backward or hitting him.

Her answer was a sweep that forced him to hop back just out of range of getting struck. The dragons hair had lightning dancing through it almost steadily. Her reflexes were sharp, on par with his he'd say. Maybe even better? No, she just had more range with that staff of hers. He'd have to work more defensively which for him meant faster than normal. His stance lowered until it was practically a crouch, he seemed to be mouthing a countdown as he did so. Electricity poured from his body, spreading out in a radius around him ten other identical copies appeared in various fighting stances all discharging equal amounts of electricity.

They all wore the same shit eating grin, effectively talking strategy amongst themselves before focusing all on her. The group spread out and moved in, in more or less a chaotic circular formation to surround her as they unleashed a brutally coordinated assault on the prax woman. Or at least it would have been if any of those who were attacking were actually real.

Kenny used the distraction to call his sheath back to his hand via one of his spells while his clones "attacked" Lae. The real him was already moving in to attack. The clones fizzled out in waves of static. His sheath effectively became his second weapon. He'd block any attack she made with the sheath while countering with the blade itself. Though he wouldn't cut her with the sharp side. Instead he swung at her shoulder with the flat of his blade.

Lae was more wary of the electricity before all the mirror illusions came at her. She flipped over one and stabbed her polearm at it, realizing rather quickly that most of these things couldn't attack her.

But now: which was the real Kenny?

She turned and saw just as Kenny brought the dull end of the blade down at her. Reacting on pure instinct, Laemiri rose her arm and blocked the sword, parrying it away.

Against the rules, Laemiri stepped into him and rose her polearm, so the bladed end was pressed against his neck. She grinned.

"You win the game, but I win the war, Turuk'maul."

His look of amusement faded quickly when Lae not only cheated, but declared herself the winner. He could deal with a loss if it were still by the rules, but Lae wasn't playing by the rules. She probably had no intentions of it. He growled something fiercely inhuman, glaring defiantly. "Well if it's war you want," he snarled in draconic as electricity built up around him.

He vanished in a blink of lightning, appearing behind her. Admittedly he was fighting in a human capacity before. Now he was holding nothing back, his body was just channeling electricity freely. His attacks came faster and much more aggressive, but focused. A brutal focus. He loosed a flurry of slashes punches and kicks.

"You think I'd surrender just because you put that stick to my throat?" he moved to sweep her legs and pin her. "You've got a lot to learn about my kind."

By the time Lae was on the ground, body still tickling with electric force and entirely out of breath, Kenny pinning her to the ground she stared at him lustfully.

"You are much more entertaining when you are...." she thought for a moment, but switched to her mother tongue, "Turuk'jaul.

"Strong lizard. Yes." She growled back at him, playful, before wrapping herself around him. "I like that. You are not so delicate, and you do not play by the rules. I still win though."

Kenny exhaled as he powered down. He won, and there was nothing to be disputed. He'd overwhelmed and pinned her down. "Turuk'jaul," he repeated, eyebrow raised. He was still a lizard, but progress was being made. He was a strong lizard now. "Finally some god damn respect!"

He knew that look. She was all hot and bothered now. He knew where this was going, and that was all well and good. except she was still claiming victory. He seemed relaxed but his guard was still up. He was the one on top. Most importantly, he still won. He frowned indignantly.

"You didn't win anything. You lost, you're the spoils. Not me, you. You can spin this any way you want but I won. Not you, me it was me. I kicked your ass on your terms. I kicked your ass so hard you're all hot and bothered, weirdo. I'll kick your ass again. I'll do it while I do you. but remember, I won this."

He huffed and stared down at her. He wanted to kiss her, he also kind of wanted to punch her. Maybe she did win. Then he remembered this was more or less how his grandfather met his grandmother. All these years of living with that maniac berating him for his unorthodox methods of controlling his element and now here he was. He had become that maniac.

"Eh, screw it," he grunted, jabbed her lightly in the shoulder, then grabbed her by the throat and kissed her on the lips.

Laemiri smirked up at him, all condescending and smug. "I am never the spoils of war. I kill those who try to make me spoils of war, and I'll kill you too."

Before Lae had much more a chance to fight him on it, Kenny took her by the throat, his mouth on hers. The kiss was light an entirely different battle, and Lae was fine with that battle.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, tangling her hands in his hair to try and help flip their positions over so she could straddle him.

He was much stronger than he looked. Lae liked that. She liked his silly growls and his little threats. She liked even more than he meant those threats.

When her lips were free of his, Laemiri smiled sharkishly down at him, gyrating her hips against his. "Never trust the enemy in your bed," she said after having said the same line in Oleti only a second before.
