"Is he a dog?" she asked qalking with him as she heard the word collar, "And what are the Abhorsen's?"

"No. The form he is in when he's wearing the collar is that of a white cat. And the Abhorsens are the ones that fight against Necromancers. Where Necromancers raise the Dead to cause chaos, Abhorsens fight to keep them down." He smiled down at her. "I may actually train you a bit in how we do that."

He shuddered. "But on the collar? If you were to remove it, Mogget is actually a Free Magic creature. He has tried, on numerous occassions, to kill the current Abhorsen when he wasn't wearing the collar. That's the reason for this," he said, holding up his hand, showing the gold ring with what looked like a ruby on it. He stood to his feet. "Come on. I need to go talk to Mogget now. See what he thinks about what happened the other day when I took you into Death."

She set her flute away from her lips, "Am I a Neocrimator?"

Kintaru smiled as he rose to his feet. "Necromancer. And not per se. You are... " He stopped for several minutes, thinking. He offered her his hand. "You are more of what is called a Remembrancer. You still go into Death, but NOT to fight the Dead. You go in to look into the past. I think I still have all of the tools of a Remembrancer packed away somewhere. And even if I don't, Mogget can get to them quickly. Come on. This is eating at me. We're going to go talk to him."

She took his hand lightly and followed him as he lead her through......
